Resistance: Burning Skies - Road Map & Trophy Guide
![]() Thanks to ub4of for the banner! Roadmap
Introduction: The story is about a firefighter named Tom Riley that initially stays behind when the rest of his family and the city escapes so he can hold up the chimera. He hopes to hold them up long enough so they can escape safely but he ends up in a small war against the chimera. The platinum trophy in this game is extremely easy and you shouldn't have any problems obtaining it. The only trophies that might require level select after completing the game are the kill trophies. But keep in mind that if you start the game again without using load level (New Game or New Game+), the 'Load level'-menu will be reset. So you need to complete each part again to make it available again in this menu. Glitch: Sometimes the multiplayer will kick you out to the singleplayer. If you already finished the game, this will start New Game+, resetting the 'Load level'-menu! The upgrade trophies require you to collect Grey Tech (collectibles), but you only need 9 to get all upgrade trophies and I had over 30 when I finished the game without searching too hard. It's not required to collect all intel if you want the platinum trophy. I also noticed that Grey Tech you picked up during your first playthrough, respawns during a New Game+ playthrough and picking it up a second time also adds to the number of pieces of Grey Tech you have. You can check your progress towards each trophy in the pause menu. You can find the Grey Tech guide over HERE If you're intrested you can find the Intel guide over HERE Note: Sometimes the game has problems when you want to start it if your wifi-connection is turned on. There are two possible things that can happen. The first one is that the game keeps loading forever. The second one is after you have touched the screen to continue and the 'Please wait' popup appears because it's checking your wifi-connection. The popup will disappear, but the screen stays grey. To fix those problems, just turn off wifi before you start the game. Then start the game and once you're in the game (at least in the main menu), use the playstation button to go back to the interface of the vita. Turn on wifi and go back to the game. Walkthrough: Step 1 - Complete the story Just play through the story in the way you want. There are no difficulty related trophies so you're free to choose the difficulty you want. You can always change it whenever you wish to. Most trophies are unmissable but you might want to focus on getting melee kills, heatstack overheat kills, headshots, making a kill with all weapons and using the secondary fire of each weapon. Check the trophy descriptions for more informations on those kills. You'll also want to search for Grey Tech (little blue cubes) to upgrade all your weapons. Those are hidden in corners or dead ends and you need 9 to get all upgrade trophies. Finding them is extremely easy when you just look around a bit. I found over 30 by the end of one playthrough. At this point you should have unlocked at least all story related trophies and most of the kill and upgrade trophies. Step 2 - Clean up singleplayer (Optional) You might still miss some kill related trophies. Now is a good time to farm the kills. You can use 'Load Level' to load a chapter of your choice. For some kill related trophies a nice farm spot is included in the trophy description. And it might also be possible that you didn't upgrade all weapons at this time, so now is the time to do so! You can use the Grey Tech guide found HERE if you still need some extra pieces of Grey Tech. At this point you should have unlocked all offline trophies. Step 3 - Online There is one online trophy in this game and it simply requires you to complete one online game. An online pass is required to play online. Glitch: Make sure to complete all offline trophies before going online. Sometimes multiplayer kicks you out to singleplayer. When you already finished the game, this means that it'll start New Game+ and reset your 'Load Level'-menu making level select impossible until you complete the level again in New Game+. At this point you should have unlocked all trophies and earned the platinum trophy. Trophy Guide PlatinumEarn all trophies Like every other platinum trophy: earn all trophies in the game and the platinum will unlock! Staten IslandSuccessfully complete level 1 Story related - cannot be missed.
Military Ocean TerminalSuccessfully complete level 2 Story related - cannot be missed.
George Washington BridgeSuccessfully complete level 3 Story related - cannot be missed.
Ellis IslandSuccessfully complete level 4 Story related - cannot be missed.
Glitch note: Not trophy related, but you might get stuck on a certain spot in the chapter.
Protection CampSuccessfully complete level 5 Story related - cannot be missed.
Conversion TowerSuccessfully complete level 6 Story related - cannot be missed.

UpgradeUpgrade a weapon in the Single Player Campaign To upgrade a weapon you need a piece of Grey Tech. Grey Tech looks like a lightblue cube and you'll encounter it for the first time during a cutscene with Ellie in chapter 1. After the cutscene ends, press and you'll be in the menu to upgrade weapons. Select a weapon by using the two arrows at the top of the screen. To upgrade a weapon, tap on the cube in the center and then drag your finger over the screen to rotate it until the desired upgrade is on the front. Tap the cube again and confirm to upgrade the weapon. You can find the Grey Tech guide over HERE CombineUpgrade both slots of a weapon in the Single Player Campaign For each weapon you can select two upgrades at the same time. One red and one blue. But before you can select them you have to 'buy' them by using a piece of Grey Tech. When you 'buy' one red and one blue upgrade for one weapon, the trophy will pop. How to upgrade a weapon: see Upgrade. CustomizeUpgrade all weapons in the Single Player Campaign For this trophy you need to upgrade all weapons at least once. You don't need to upgrade it completely or buy multiple upgrades for each weapon. You'll need 8 pieces of Grey Tech to upgrade all weapons at least once. How to upgrade a weapon: see Upgrade. Overview of upgradable weapons:
IndiscriminateKill an enemy with every weapon in the Single Player Campaign This should come naturally. Make a kill with every weapon in the game. There are 8 weapons in the game and you’ll pick up the last one at the end of chapter 4. Just use every weapon to make a kill and this trophy unlocks. I suggest that you make at least one kill as soon as you pick up a new weapon, just to make it easier to keep track of your progress. Overview of weapons:
VarietyUse the secondary fire of each weapon in the Single Player Campaign This should come naturally. There are 8 weapons in the game with secondary fire and you’ll pick up the last one at the end of chapter 4. Just use the secondary fire for each weapon to unlock this trophy. I suggest that you use the secondary fire once as soon as you pick up a new weapon, just to make it easier to keep track of your progress and you'll also see a small tutorial about the secondary fire when you pick it up or shortly after. Overview and use of secondary fire for each weapon:
DangerousKill 250 Chimera in the Single Player Campaign See Lethal. I earned this trophy at the beginning of chapter 3. DeadlyKill 500 Chimera in the Single Player Campaign See Lethal. I earned this trophy in chapter 4. LethalKill 1000 Chimera in the Single Player Campaign I earned this trophy in chapter 6. All 'kill x chimera' trophies should come naturally from completing the story once. If in some way you didn't get the 1000 kills by the end of chapter 6, just replay chapter 6 as it has a lot of enemies. Last edited by TheFlyingToaster; 06-29-2012 at 05:50 PM. AxedKill 50 Chimera with Riley's axe in the Single Player Campaign Axe kills are actually just the melee kills of the game. You’ll use the axe of Riley to execute them. Press the axe logo on the right side of the touchscreen to execute one. This might come naturally if you’re someone that uses melee regularly. Else you can farm this. I got this trophy in chapter 4. OverheatKill 50 Chimera by detonating their heatstacks in the Single Player Campaign The heatstack of a chimera are the electric sticks on their back. To get an overheat kill, you have to hit the heatstack without killing the chimera by that hit. If you do so, you’ll see that the chimera goes crazy and explodes shortly after because of overheating. Sometimes the nearby chimera also get killed. Every kill you make in this way counts towards the trophy. You might get this trophy before finishing the story, but if you don’t do so I suggest you to farm it. The best spot to farm it is at the very beginning of chapter 6. You’ll slide down a pipe and there will be three enemies at the other side of the room. They’ll shoot you and hide behind cover from time to time. But when they go in cover, their heatstacks are still visible. Just go to the left to take cover and take them out from left to right by going a little bit out of cover so you can see the rightmost enemy, but the other enemies can’t hit you. Use the sniper and aim slightly above the cover and shoot as soon as the chimera ducks into cover. If you still have ammo left, there will be two snipers to the right and their heat packs are very easy to hit because they don’t move a lot. When you run out of ammo, die and repeat until you get the trophy. Another trick thanks to CloudStrife768 Quote:
BoomKill 100 Chimera with headshots in the Single Player Campaign This trophy should come naturally. You have to kill enemies by shooting them in the head. When you make a headshot you'll also hear some splatting/squeezing sound of the brains that explode. I got the trophy in chapter 5 and I was never aiming for headshots, so it shouldn’t be a problem at all. If you would miss some, you can also farm them in chapter 6 as it has a lot of enemies. ImpaledKill an Impaler Unmissable - You'll get it at the end of the third chapter.
ExecutedKill an Executioner Unmissable - You'll get it at the end of the first chapter.
GiantKill any combination of 18 Impalers or Executioners You have to kill any combination of 18 Impalers (See Impaled for more information) and Executioners (See Executed for more information). So it doesn’t matter how many you kill of each type. When you complete the story you’ll encounter them a few times, but not enough to get the trophy during the first playthrough. But when you die right after killing it, the kill will be added to the count, so it’s easy to farm this. The best way to farm this is towards the end of chapter 6, if you use ‘Load level’ select ‘Conversion tower’ and then ‘Impalers’. You’ll be right in front of the perfect spot! As soon as you gain control, you’ll enter a room with an executioner after tapping the screen to open a door. There is a red light on the ground to the right that explodes when you shoot at it. The Executioner will walk past it and if you shoot the red light when he’s right next to it, he’ll be killed by the explosion. There are enough enemies left to shoot you so you can die and repeat the process until the trophy pops. InciteComplete one round of multiplayer You need an online pass for this trophy! Select 'Multiplayer' from the main menu and then 'Matchmaking'. You can choose a mode of choice and the size of the room also doesn't matter. Just complete the game and the trophy will pop when the stats are shown. Last edited by TheFlyingToaster; 06-29-2012 at 06:12 PM. Reason: Editorial Sweep |

While I don't have a specific place for farming the heatstacks trophy, you can use the auger on the armored Hybrids. They tend to stay in cover a lot when you are in cover, for whatever reason, so you can pick them off. 4 shots to the heatstacks will do it.
