How the hell do you beat the first real boss? (executioner)

That huge guy that spits out little guys that explode.

I can't figure out the trick to beat him and i've been stuck since yesterday.

Anybody got help? Can't find any videos on google or walkthroughs anywhere.

I died a bunch of times before I figured it out Shoot him in the eyes then when he goes flipping crazy. There are two pods in his mouth that you have to blow up. Then fights over. It's so simple but I hate that your just unloading on him until you figure it out x)

i honestly spammed my bullseye's tag ability and by luck they stuck on the weak points and killed him without aiming.
but good to know that for the hard playthrough.

If you are facing the Abomination/Boss just stand in the back left of the area. Stand to the left of the vehicle. Those towers on the right couldn't hit me back there. The only problem was the 4 little crawlers would come up to me and hit me, 1, 2, 3 and 4 causing damage. I am playing on normal so not sure if getting hit by all 4 will kill you in hard difficulty. I had all day and figured it out and killed him easily.
