If you're impatient yes it is. My preferred method is Farming the Licker Corridor (I forget the level) as that nabs you $12,000 for 2mins work.

That's actually the best weapon to use as it's practically a 1 hit kill against Lickers

Uh, I only get 3-4 gems per run, am I doing something wrong? They drop ammo and sometimes nothing, should I take all my weapons out so there is less ammo drops?

3-4 gems is normal for this method so just carry on until you have all the cash you need.

Nope, Difficulty makes no difference to the value of the Jewels.

It might not make a differences to the value, but I think they drop items more often whether thats a Jewel or not.

Calculated that it takes 1.3 million (Or was it Billion?) dollars too fully upgrade all weapons, thats well, alot of money.
