Ruin Mode?

Could someone just explain to me what this 'Ruin Mode' is? I just bought this game for a friend who doesn't have access to the PSN, would the code be of any value to him?

Well he has access to the PSN if he wants to redeem the code, but he doesn't have constant access to the PSN for multiplayer or anything.

I rented it & got the code from someone .... don't remember who

I never found much use for it... I will say that I found an easy way to do the waves on the infestation level. Just pick the level called infestation & it will gve you the option to play online or offline, pick offline! (yet it's still considered online) Then just get good at grinding out the levels... I got all the way up to & unlocked Honorary Mason within about 5 hours over 2 days It was fun!

You're speaking to someone who has zero experience in the game, I'm asking on someone elses behalf.
Is it online multiplayer? Like the Online Pass?

No. Ruin mode is just a bonus. It was used in RF:G for some trophies, but there are non-related to it in RF:A.

So, in other words, you can play online without the code, BUT, ruin mode is locked until you enter the code.
