Triple xp vs. pre patch. Which is better?

Hi folks which do you find better for experience points. Playing the game pre patch or using the triple xp lan trick?

Playing pre-patch and triple XP Lan trick is the same trick.

I played the other day when it was triple XP on PSN and I found I got the same amount as when I was using the XP trick on LAN to level up.

Playing online with friends I think is funner but doing LAN is faster because there is nobody there to slow you down.
