I feel like I’m doing something very wrong and I’m not enjoying the game as a result of it.
Currently I’m at the Cave of Origins, and I just beat the giant chicken, but I feel that half my party is useless. I haven’t used any PP yet and here is how I’ve been spreading points: Leonhardt = Str/Vit, majority in strength Borgnine = Str/Vit, majority in strength Ellis = Int Fyuria = Str/Vit Zerva = Int Vira-Lorr = Int 1.) Borgnine and Leonhardt can chop off half an enemy’s health each with their power attacks. Fyuria, Zerva, and Vira-Lorr however do hardly anything by comparison when it comes to damage. Fyuria especially just serves to irritate the enemy. I think the problem is I don’t understand the skill system, at all. Looking at the wiki, I see that I can convert items into skills which I’m assuming go into the current slots on my characters to replace old skills, (i.e. meteor impact replaces power attack just as Fire 1 in Final Fantasy would replace Fire 2) but the components for these skills are unavailable from what I can tell. I’ve been over-killing as many enemies as I can and I still have none of these components. Are they obtained somewhere else? 2.) Once I craft a skill, can I transfer it? If I decide I don’t want to use say, Vira-Lorr anymore, can I remove fire from her and give it to someone else? 3.) I keep hearing about people using generation 1 characters in generation 2 and so on? I know there are books that allow you to make marionettes but I thought this was extremely expensive and only useable on the main characters (1 hero and 3 heroines) of each generation? I would like to spend PP on some minor characters (Borgnine) that I’d like to use the entire game but if I can’t bring them back in later generations I won’t bother. I'm sorry if these questions are answered elsewhere but I haven't been able to find them so far. I'm not saying they don't exist, but I'm tired of searching. Even pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. |

i'm gonna do my best to try to answer these questions, i had the same concerns through out the game as well.
1. Your skills are your bread and butter in this game, getting skill combinations can add tons of attacks in, look through the wiki on which combo has more attack hits. more importantly, look at your characters, see which 1 has the ability slots. Weapon also matters when it comes to skill slots. You need to do a lot of research here, since everybody has a different playing style, these are the main skill combos i used through out the game: Quadruple Attack Broken Hit Sonic Blast Rapid Stream Delta Attack Execution Gore Crush Axel Rave Cruel Force Again, these are the popular skill combos people use, they're easy to collect and does tons of hits. The reason you're doing such little damage might be because of your weapons, you need much better weapons than what you have now. On a side note, you're not even close to 1/5th of the game, so you have lots of farming to do, eventually you will have to farm up some attack+999 and magic+900 items. 2. Yes skills are like items, you can take it off anybody and place it on anybody, what i do is when a i gain a new character in my party, if he's useless, then i just stripe him down to nothing (take all the skills/items) and place them on my main if they're useful! On the other hand, I don't suggest you craft any skills that are too hard to get the component for, you're at the beginning stage of the game, things are very hard. 3. you will be able to revive them, but the only ones worth reviving are the father character of each generation, the books are found in dungeons, follow the wiki you won't miss it. Money isn't an issue in this game, eventually you will have more than you will ever need. I don't suggest you spend PP unless you're on your hard play through, and definitely don't spend it on characters like Borgnine, his stats gains are awful. Though he will be available with you through out all 5 generations, but honestly he is just trashy. My party recommendations for end games are either: 1.Leon-Ladius-Thoma-Duran-Rex-Ellis Ellis has a HUGE aoe heal. 2.Leon-Ladius-Thoma-Duran-Rex-Winfield Winfield has Ex-steal 3.Leon-Ladius-Thoma-Duran-Rex-Dyshana Max Damage Party You can try to lvl all 3 of the 6th characters i mentioned above. When you spend your PP and stat points, just focus on INT if it's a mage, and STR if it's a melee. Vitality will max out at 99999 hp anyway. you will achieve that around lvl 150 or so, pointless to add anything on that. I have an empty account with some DLCs on it that nobody ever touches, if you need just add me as a friend and i'll see what I can do. this forum doesn't support gamesharing, so we can talk outside the forum if you really need help. and Lastly don't forget, breeding is an important aspect of the game, it determines what stats of the character the next generation will have. So pick your wife carefully, but i'm sure your parents taught you that already Last edited by mtek81; 08-31-2010 at 02:34 AM. |

Wow, thank you very much! That information helps a lot.
I was playing with the skill system last night and it was like I was just starting the game for real I don't know why it never occurred to me before that I could use my skills like equipment. I just assumed each character had their own skill set. I've also stopped putting points in vitality and have instead just kept Ellis close for healing. I've gone from barely squeaking by in fights to steam rolling thanks to upgrading and enhancing my gear as well. I'm really enjoying the game now.Currently I'm in the mountain dungeon with half my part dead since I got attacked by a vicious group on the 3rd screen... but, I'm still enjoying the game

![]() One thing I found out last night... you can quick warp to any location on the map. I thought I was stuck at the mountain dungeon because three of my party members were dead and the path doesn't let you go back to a city. Hopefully I didn't screw anything up. My turn count stayed the same so I think I'm fine. |
