F1 2012 Prediction Championship

Hey everyone!

In light of other prediction leagues in the sports bar, I thought it could be fun to create a prediction league for each Formula 1 race in the 2012 calender. Now I know I may have left this too late to predict for the Australian Grand Prix but hopefully this can get underway for the next set of races.

Anybody interested in signing up to this should post their names in the thread to sign-up. I'm having no restrictions on how many members can sign-up. Before each race every participant will be required to post their prediction in the thread. I'm giving everyone until Friday 23rd March to sign-up and post their predictions for the first race. After that members will have until before the qualifying to get their predictions completed. After the race is complete I will then tally up the scores from eveybody's predictions and update the leaderboard. Now for the all important predicting and scoring guidelines.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All predictions must be made before the qualifying starts.

All members will be required to predict the top 5 race positions for each race in the 2012 calender year.

For example:-
1st - Vettel
2nd - Hamilton
3rd - Alonso
4th - Perez
5th - Massa

Predict a correct position and receive 3 points, predict a driver to finish in the top 5 but in any position, receive 1 point.

I will also be producing a bonus set of points which will be awarded at the end of the season. These points will be awarded for predicting:-

Drivers Championship - Final Standings
1st - e.g. Vettel
2nd - e.g. Hamilton
3rd - e.g. Alonso

Predict a correct position and receive 6 points, predict a driver to finish in the top 3 in any position and receive 2 points.

Constructers Championship - Final Standings
1st - e.g. Ferrari
2nd - e.g. McLaren Mercedes
3rd - e.g. Red Bull-Renault

Predict a correct position and receive 6 points, predict a driver to finish in the top 3 in any position and receive 2 points.

I used to run one of these at another site many years ago and it was great fun! I'll be joining for sure.
