Trophy Breakdown and Introduction

Prototype has a few different kind of trophies, story, event, collectable, combat, vehicle, and stealth. In the guide, Trophies are organized in this category order and in order from bronze to gold from top to bottom. The trophies force you to play the game multiple times on multiple difficulty levels so that you can get all of them. Below, I will give you a suggested outline of how to obtain platinum on the game. For some of these trophies, I will tell you where and how to farm them. You may ask, What is farming? Farming is the act by which one repeats a sequence of events multiple times so that he or she may obtain a trophy quickly and efficiently. This is also known as boosting or spamming, however I call it farming. This outline may change of the course of me playing the game so if I change some of it in the middle of you playing it, don’t let it ruin your game, just keep doing what you were and you should be fine. Now, the following will give you a basic outline of how you might go about getting the platinum, this is the first of two. The first is easier but more time consuming. The second is shorter and more difficult.

FORMAT 1: THE LONG WAY THAT IS EASIER.

Playthrough One: Combat, Stealth, Vehicle, Event, and Collectable Runthrough

This playthrough does not require you to play a certain way, this time you are focusing on getting the majority of the trophies. You need to play on MEDIUM difficulty though so that hard mode is unlocked otherwise you get to add another playthrough to your platinum run. You should probably play on this file a little more after you finish the story to make sure you are fairly comfortable with the controls and battle strategies before entering P2 on hard, as I have heard that Hard Mode is quite hard. So now it’s time for…

Playthrough 2: Hard Mode

This time you are playing on hard mode. If you want to you can try and get any trophies you might have missed on P1, but hopefully you already farmed them and don’t have to worry about any. Once I have knowledge of how to make Hard Mode easier, I will post tips here. Once you’ve finished Hard Mode, it’s time for…

Playthrough 3: Flawless Run On EASY and Consume Events

For “Hard to Kill” You must beat the story on any difficulty without dying. You should do this after hard mode so that you don’t have to worry about skill quite as much as the jump from hard to easy should be fairly large in your favor. Save often and only focus on this trophy. If you want to save yourself a playthrough you can consume 10 or less civilians for the “Nice Guy” Trophy and save yourself some time. Don’t get cocky though, only do it if you really feel like you can handle getting both on one run without screwing up. Once You finish the story and get the trophies for “Nice Guy” and “Hard to Kill”, you should work on getting Platinum on all Consume Events. There are 100 of them and if you need help on them post on the forums and the members here will be glad to help you get all of them. After making all three of these runs you are on…

Playthrough 4: Cleanup Trophy Run and Platinum

This runthrough is completely optional. If you have any throphies you haven’t gotten up to this point feel free to do it here. Remember to look at what you have left and focus on what is obtainable though, Don’t try to throw hard mode and not dying into a run, be smart and take your time. At this point, do on easy to save time( unless you still haven’t gotten the “Hard to Kill” Trophy) and work fast, but efficiently. If you still need to do any more playthroughs to get the platinum do them in the same format as this runthrough.

SECOND FORMAT: THE SHORTER MORE DIFFICULT WAY

Playthrough 1: Flawless run on Medium And then Collection

This playthrough will yield the majority of the trophies. You will not die this playthrough and finish the main missions early. You will be mindful of combat and vehicle trophies as you play and attempt to acquire them without dying. Once you get the trophy you will complete consume events, find all web targets, hints, landmarks, and collectables, and then an other torphies you can get on this playthorugh. You will do all of this while consuming 9 civilians at the max since you are speeding through the story.

Playthrough 2: Cleanup run on Hard Mode

In this mode you will run through the playthrough getting any trophies you missed and complete on hard so you can get the rest of the trophies.

Tips, Tricks, and Useful Tidbits

As I find bits of information that will help while unlocking the trophies, I will post here. I was looking on x360a for any tips and I came across this, exploit to your hearts desire :)

You can most likely do it with any helicoptor .... but I am about half way through the game and I am on a mission where I have to jack this helicoptor and it has like 160 missles or something and a machine gun. You are told to go fly over the infected area and scan the infected water towers for a suitable enemy type. Well instead of doing that fly to the infected area and start shooting the infected water towers that are around all infected the areas. You get like 8,000 for each. Shoot 25 of them and you get the achievement for killing the infected water towers without them hatching. As long as you properly hijack the helicoptor and no one suspects you as a bad guy then no one attacks you while this is going on. 1 water tower takes 1 missle. 1 fly through with this helicopter can net you 1,192,000 EXP assuming you find a water tower per missile!!! And even more than that if you use your machine gun. I am buying upgrades left and right! ones that cost like 273,000 EXP are mine in no time. I usually go til I have about 500,000 EXP or so and crash the heli and do it all over agian. Hope this helps!

Wrap Up, Closing Notes, and A Note on Difficulty

Now that We’ve gone through the way you should tackle the trophies, you should have a decent idea of how to tackle these. From the looks of the trophies this is NOT the kind of game that you can pick up from blockbuster and return in a few days with a platinum, I suggest really dedicating some time to this one if you want to get the platinum. Note this is a WORK IN PROGRESS and any information regarding the trophies should be pm’d to me on this site NOT PSN PLEASE. Oh, and if you like the guide you don’t have to friend me to say it, while I appreciate the praise and don’t want to sound like an ass, I like to keep my friends list small and close… now that we’ve gotten that out of the way here are the trophies as broken down into category and their respective strategies for farming. Happy Platinum hunting!

Story Mode Trophies

SME: Gain the ability to drive and fly all vehicles

Consume a pilot and a driver for the trophy to unlock. For the driver you are required to by the story and as for the pilot after your tenth or so main mission the option to consume a pilot is available so at this time go to a base and consume a pilot at a base to have the ability unlocked. If you don't find a pilot at one base then go to another, you may not find him since there are 6 possible upgrades at this point and only three consumeables per base.

In The Web: Consume 50 Web Targets

There are 133 Web targets, consume 50 of them to unlock the trophy. See the map in the posts below for locations. These do not count against you for the "Nice Guy" trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/38.jpg

Nice Guy: Complete the game while consuming 10 Civilians or fewer

CIVILIANS ARE THOSE WHO ARE NOT MILITARY, NOT INFECTED, NO HOSTILE, NOT WEB OF INTRIGUE, AND ARE SIMPLY ORDINARY PEOPLE WALKING THE STREETS.This is alot easier than it sounds, you can't consume civilians but that really shouldn't be an issue, if you need health consume military personal, you can consume up to 9 to be safe so you have some leeway but you should be aware of your consume count, check under stats.

Web Of Knowledge: Acquire all nodes of the Web of Intrigue

Consume all 133 targets, see map for locations. These do not count against you for the "Nice Guy" trophy.

Hard To Kill: Complete Story Mode in any difficulty without dying

Try on easy, save often, and do your best to stay alive. Try doing only main missions to save time and avoid dying. This is easier than it sounds, without trying I got to the 13th mission without even trying so with a little patience this is a very doable trophy. If you are having trouble then use helicopters and tanks often to avoid having to take on enemies on your own, if you do use devestators often and consume infected civilians for quick health.

Revenge Revisited: Complete Story Mode on hard difficulty

Hard mode has been said to be hard, but some people have said that it is very easy. In the end it comes down to your tactics and skill. If you want to do this quickly, you should only go for the story missions and stay hidden as much as possible. Helicopters are your friends and so are tanks, so use those to your advantage. You should try to keep a disguise of a high ranking military officer on you at all times, don't be afraid to patsy, and if you have to simply run. If you are having problems, post on the forums and a member will be glad to help you.

Combat Trophies:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/09.jpg

Trail Of Corpses: Kill 53,596 infected

Infected are civilians who are in Red Zones, Hunters, or any zombie like people who will attack you. The easiest method to get this is to play the event "Rolling Thunder" and play this for as long as you need. In the two minutes you have for the event, you can kill an average of 1000 infected per go so this should take you around 2 hours, give or take how many you can kill and how many you have killed previous to farming this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/17.jpg

The Butcher: Kill 50 characters in 5 seconds

The easiest way to do this is to run into a crow of people with your tendril barrage devastator and let it loose. Or you could get this while getting "Speed Bumps" since you have unlimited ammo, just shoot 2 or 3 rockets at anyone you see, I got it his way after a few tries.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/18.jpg

Return Fire: Catch any object tossed by a Hydra; and throw it back

Find a hydra and wait for it to throw a car at you. Lock on to the hydra and time it right so when it throws it you can catch it and then once you have it throw it back at the hydra. Simple trophy to unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/20.jpg

Cleanup: Kill 15 characters with a single Whipfist attack

Make sure you've bought the second upgrade for the whipfist which lets you spin and then go to time square and spin around killing everyone. If you're having trouble then you can go to an infected zone and let them run at you then unleash the whipfist.

Vehicle Trophies:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/29.jpg

Threat Elevated: Destroy 25 strike teams

First, make sure you are Mercer and cause enough damage for a team to be called in. Strike Teams consist of three helicopters so throw things at them until all three copters are destroyed. Rinse and Repeat until the trophy pops up. You should do this at the same time that you do the "Surface to Air trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/30.jpg

Repossession: Seize 50 vehicles from enemy hands

This can be done with tanks or with helicopters. Everytime you see a military base, infiltrate it and then go and look for any copters or tanks nearby and hop in them and hop out. Do this 50 times for your trophy. If you want to farm this you can do it on the mission where you have to kill alot of people in tanks around a hive shortly after you are infected with the parasite. If you do this and the helicopter near you you should have four or five and can repeat this as much as you want.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/32.jpg

Surface-To-Air: Shoot down 50 helicopters while driving armor.

Hijack a tank to start out and if not already in effect, get a strike team to come attack you. Now you should just shoot at the helicopters until victory. You will get this while going for the "Threat Elevated" trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/40.jpg

Speed Bumps: Run over 500 characters in a single tank.

To get this trophy you will first need to get in a tank. For the spot I give for farming, you will be given one so you don't need to worry about finding one. Once you are in the tank you only need to drive around the streets that are close to you for about 5 minutes or so driving on the side walk and aiming for the people running around. Make sure you don't get out of the tank or the trophy resets. You can check how many you need by going to stats and looking at "Speed Bumps" under the Vehicle section of stats. Since this is your first time in a tank you should have a very accurate number.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/10.jpg

Wrecking Yard: Destroy 2,000 vehicles

The quickest way to do is when you first get a tank, go through the streets shooting cars and running over them. The tank that you get will have infinite health and missiles making it impossible to die.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/19.jpg

Gunning: Destroy 20 Helicopters in a single Helicopter flight

There is an event where you are given a helicopter and told to take out all other helicopters in the time limit. I don't know it's name but credit to Hakoooooom for this method.

Stealth Trophies:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/08.jpg

Endless Hunger: Consume 200 characters to boost your health

To consume someone pick them up with CIRCLE and then press TRIANGLE to consume them. This trophy will count any consume, so you should get this by consuming the infected civilians, military, hunters, and any non civilian characters. This can easily be gotten by mission 15, you shouldn't need to consume civilians for this trophy but if you aren't going for the "Nice Guy" trophy, then you can do this even faster by going down a street and consuming civilians. If you want to farm this look for an infected area and look for streets with infected citizens, at this point consume all of them you see. You should get atleast 20 per street so this shouldn't take very long to get if farming.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/11.jpg

Misconception: Destroy 25 Infected Water Towers before they hatch.

Look for the place described near the end of the roadmap, or if you are playing through trying to get the "Hard to Kill" trophy, you can use infected vision to search for the water towers and then once you have once insight you can do one of three things; throw things at them, use your whipfist or,

hammerfist them to death. This is the most dangerous because if you fail to destroy it in time you get to kill an annoying ass hunter. You should only do this if you really have no other option.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/15.jpg

Half-Truths: Complete a mission without causing a single Military Alert

See “Mankind Is Your Mask”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/26.jpg

It's Him!: Patsy 5 military personnel

You must buy the patsy technique from the upgrades menu first. To patsy someone, disguise yourself as a military officer of higher rank than the one you are gong to patsy, target onto him, hold R1, then select SQUARE to begin the patsy. If you are not a higher ranked officer than the one you are trying to patsy you will not succeed in your patsy. Do this 5 times to get the trophy. This can be done anywhere but the best place to do this is going to be a military base since there are PLENTY of officers to patsy in there of all ranks. This is easiest done as a commander( needed to enter the base) and done on regular soldiers( always a lower rank.)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/27.jpg

In Plain Sight: Evade 10 strike teams

First, run by a military base disguised as a soldier( not into the base but outside the entrance.) Now turn into Alex Mercer and create an alert. Wait until the strike team comes in and then run away as quickly as possible until prompted to disguise. Now, just wait for ten or so seconds and the strike team will leave and you will get EP and a message saying they have left.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/28.jpg

Infiltrator: Infiltrate 10 Military Bases disguised as a Commander

First, check the maps below for possible base locations. Go to one of those bases and consume the military commander specific to that base. Here is an image of what he will look like:

http://i43.tinypic.com/27xgqxx.jpg

Now walk into that base as the commander. Repeat this 10 times to get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/35.jpg

The Cleaner: Destroy 10 Military Bases or Infected Hives in New York City

See the map in the next post for locations of hives and bases. Hop in some kind of vehicle and go to the location and shoot the building, it will have a health bar so shoot until it falls down. You will get this without problems if you play the main missions and events. You can farm this early on when getting Parker without getting a death.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/152/16.jpg

Mankind Is Your Mask: Complete 3 missions without causing a single Military Alert.

The first mission you should do this is when you have to transport the Doctor in the tank. Don't shoot at all and avoid running over any military when driving. The next mission is the one directly after this one, very easy to do this without getting caught. For the third mission, you will do the mission where you get the Infected Vision. Go to the base and sabotage the detectors and consume all the people you need to. Stay costumed, and go to the Hunter location. Stay on the rooftop and whipfist them quickly, you should be able to to do this without problems from the military. Finally, you have the leader hunter. Find a machine gun and shoot him until you're out of ammo, at this point you can melee him until you are prompted to consume him which completes the mission. Here is another option:

The one I'm talking about is mission 26 (not sure what the name is). Its where you have to destroy the helicopters before they escape the island. The trick here is to go in disguise, jump on the roof of the first building where you're told to go. There will be a guy with a rocket launcher. Stealthy consume him and take his rocker launcher. Now you'll want to jump to one of the buildings in the city (any will do) just as long as no one is watching you (no yellow indicator). From here you should be able to lock onto the helicopters and blow them up with no detection. Take out the first 3 this way but before moving on to the next indicator on the map, find another rocket guy on top of one of the buildings (they are all over the place) and stealth consume him as well for fresh ammo. The next part has 5 helicopters that will try to leave, the first 3 will leave by themselves and the last two will leave together. As long as you have a fresh rocket launcher this shouldn't matter. I found on this part, climbing on top of the really tall building just next to the stadium provided awesome angles to end this part quickly. Finally the last part has 5-6 helicopters that will try to escape. You'll want to make sure you have fresh ammo again via the stealth consume method again (you can consume one of the guys on the stadium). This one was a bit trickier as I seemed to be in view a lot. I finally was able to find a building and attack the first few. However, with multiples leaving at the same time, I had to chase a few down. You can shoot them while gliding and still stay undetected so that isn't an issue. As soon as you blow the last one away it's mission end and if that was your 3rd, trophy success! Overall should take you about 5min to do if not quicker. Using rockets I never got caught once, even one time when I was in view as the rocket hit the helicopter. If you are good enough with rockets, you should know the distance you have to be in order for it to strike and can move on to the 2nd helicopter after firing at the first one in the multi parts, to speed it up.

So you're essentially writing a guide for a game you havent played yet?

Meh, i take issue with that personally, especially considering the fact i got platinum on Skate 2 and wrote a perfectly handy guide which the mods refused to sticky for whatever reason.

Yet, just as the with the Infamous guide, yours will probably be stickied straight away.

Nothing against you man, i just dont get peoples logic around here sometimes.

This is exactly what i said m8...you should only be able to write a guide when you have played the game..this will only be a guide and will probably not have any hints or good tips whatsoever because you havent played through it...only some1 who has put time into the game should be able to write a guide 4 it! ON ANY GAME!

I was supposed to get it today and due to car issues couldn't, but don't worry I was gonna write one anyway so it's not like I'm not gonna play the game I'm gonna get it tommorow and play the shit out of it so don't worry, I will have knowledge of writing the guide and it will be good, I just wanted to go ahead and get some of it out there for people.

WOW i cant believe you said you need 4 playthroughs on this!

This is from a step by step guide on how to make a trophy guide! LOOK AT STEP NUMBER 1!!!!!!!

Step One: Play the game.

Step Two: Get a properly-formatted Trophy list.

Step Three: Post here to tell the community you're working on the guide.

Step Four: Write the guide.

Step Five: Submit the guide in the Submit Forum.

Step Six: Receive thanks and signs of gratitude.

His Infamous guide was not stickied for a while because it took a while to be half way to being any good. It takes people posting suggestions etc as such there is nothing to stop other people making guides to and seeing which is best for stickying, so if you feel you can do a better one then please do, the community wants the best one possible.

As such no one else is attempting a guide who owns or does not own the game so clearly one will be needed. As for your Skate 2 guide perhaps it was just not as good as the other Skate 2 guides and you should reconsider your written technique in it, I do not know. All I know is the guide is a rough outline for now and tells people the trophies which is more than anything else does on this site for Prototype. The people who have the game clearly have no interest to write guides so why shouldn't anyone? Like I say it will most likely not be stickied instantly untill it is at an acceptable level (advise you pm a mod for more information).

Anyway lets have an end to the bickering this is supposed to be a trophy guide not a place for people to whine ;)

THANK YOU FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT

It will be good, I promise, just give it some time and let me get information. And if you don't like it then make your own damn guide, just trying to help everyone.

Look at the guides!! PLAY THE GAME 1ST........i would write a guide but i will have played the game 1st but now i cant because it would just be a waste of time for me to write it seeing as i was being kind enough to wait! Plus the game has only been out in places for about a day & a half so people would be wanting to play the game enough b4 writing a guide!!

And i do have better jobs than his guides!! check these out>>

Alright, we get the point. Now if you want to write a guide go ahead, mine won't be stickied for a while, let it be known, I DON'T WANT THIS GUIDE STICKIED UNTIL PEOPLE ARE SATISFIED WITH IT. There, now you have a chance to write your own guide, or have a guide out that you can be satisfied with, either way you win. Now, please just let it be, Ok? Your guides are good so I welcome you to write one, I DON'T CARE IF MINE GETS STICKIED I JUST WANT TO TRY AND HELP PEOPLE GET THEIR TROPHIES SO EITHER WRITE YOUR OWN DAMN GUIDE OR SHUT THE HELL UP.

STOP IT!!!! ALL OF YOU, JUST STOP!!!!!

BeerMoose, work on your guide.

Rockets, I've had enough of your domination and derailing of threads. Infractions are coming if I see anymore behavior like this from you.

SimpleySupreme, you were asked several times to add more detail to your guide if you want it to be stickied. You refused, so it's not stickied.
