I agree that the music is a complete 180 from the first game, but so is basically everything else. The Ubisoft guys in Germany thought the prince was kind of a poof so they tried really hard in this game to make him a badass. I think this was the prince those guys always wanted. The tattoo on the prince's arm is even the same as one the lead developers has.

It's not my kind of music in general, but I can't say the music in Warrior Within bothered me. At first I was like "erm?" and then it changed to "most of these tunes are still rather catchy". And I really like the battle theme "At war with [you-know-who]". This is my favorite PoP game of the trilogy, I just really enjoy the darker tone of the game. Sure, sometimes they overdid it and it just felt forced, but I think they pulled it off quite well. And the music adds to that, the previously mentioned battle theme pretty much nails it.
I very much prefer the Prince in this game as well, I'm not a big fan of the "goofy prince"... (nor of Yuri Lowenthal's voice acting, but that's a whole different story)

1. Prince .....the first moment I heard him speak........it was the sudden complete lack of personality and rich character that Prince used to have...and now it was just gone....it wasn't there any more, it was like this was not the same guy.....what the hell did they done to him .......the music did not bother me at all....it wasn't the music that killed this game for me....nothing wrong with music in the game to be honest.
2. Utter boring backgrounds and repetition that occured during all that backtracking 100% killed the game for me and finished off what the change in the Prince character had started (actually this perhaps should be no 1 thing that bothered me)....the POPWW is one boring game simple said...so boring that after few runs through the towers it just became torture. Even the litle twist with the mask of time could not save the boring repetition pattern that this game suffers from.....appart from the really aweful camera angles.... |

I just played through the Prince Of Persia trilogy and I must say Warrior Within was definitely my least favorite of the three. I think a big reason as to why I didn't like the game was due in part to the terrible music.
The Sands Of Time and The Two Thrones incorporated Persian and other Eastern musical styles into the game soundtracks. To me that worked well and the music sounded great. Warrior Within however had very bad and uninspiring guitar tracks that were just plain awful. On top of that I had to listen to a bunch of crappy Godsmack tracks as well, often times hearing that one title track being repeated over and over again. Is it just me, or did anyone else feel the same way? |

Actually I Dont know why everyone dislikes the Godsmack Soundtrack.
"I Stand Alone" (Scorpion King Soundtrack) & "Straight Out Of Line" fits back then and nowadays in the Dark Setting of the Best Prince of Persia Game of the Trilogy (IMO). This Game was for me back then Badass. But well, I had this discussions on the Original Release Time also, many PPL love the Sands of Time, Two Thrones, but for me...there can only be One... Warrior Within ^^ |
