Power Gig: Rise of the Six String Trophy Guide
by kensredemption

Estimated difficulty: 8/10
Offline trophies: 38 (18 16 3 1)
Online trophies: 0 - There is no online mode available.
Estimated time to platinum: 20-30 Hours (Depending on your skill with the SixString Guitar, or with any instrument overall.)
Minimum number of play-throughs needed: 1
Missable Trophies: Depending on how you play there are a few: One Band, One With The Clans, Unite The Rebels, Liberator of Ohm, and Swift Victory.
Glitched Trophies: None.
Do cheats disable trophies?: There are no cheats available.
Does Difficulty affect trophies?: Yes, Some of the trophies requires a minimum difficulty (See respective trophy for details).

What You'll Need...

Unfortunately you won't be able to get the platinum in Power Gig without having to make a bit of an investment into it. You're going to need to get the band kit which includes:
  1. 1 SixString Guitar
  2. 1 AirStrike Drumset
  3. 1 MojoVox Microphone (Truthfully, you can use any USB mic but you'll have to get the bundle for the platinum anyway.)

Road Map

Briefing

For all intents and purposes of this guide I won't dare go into the aesthetic value of Power Gig - believe me, you'll be better off not knowing. Anyway, the basic path to the platinum trophy for this game entails very basic accomplishments. There aren't too many trophies you'll have to actually put any effort into except for the trophies involving the SixString Guitar (and to an extent) the AirStrike Drums. I must emphasize, however, how incredibly vital it is that you very accurately calibrate the game. The system it uses is very similar to that of Rock Revolution - not to mention the gameplay is virtually the same with the incorporation of the vocal system. That being said, even though you know you're hitting the right notes, the game may or may not register it just because you adjusted either the audio or video lag a few milliseconds ahead or behind.

Tutorials and Unite the Clans

You're going to want to finish the tutorials for all three instruments first and foremost. In comparison to the rest of the trophy list, this is going to be a breeze since some of the lessons are absurdly short. Throughout the course of Unite the Clans, however, you're going to want to play on the Recruit difficulty at all times. This'll make your endeavors much, much easier for the "Swift Victory" Trophy.

You'll also want to play on recruit when you're playing setlists in new venues (That you'll unlock during the course of Unite the Clans) for the Mojomorphosis Trophies:
  1. Tearin’ Up The Subway (Rothchild Station)
  2. Merry Go Round And Round (Tilt)
  3. Harvesting The Garden (The Grove)
  4. Igniting The Flame (Riffslide Alley)
  5. Noise Pollution (Axeworks)
  6. Total Enlightenment (Sanctuary)
  7. Crafty Carrier (The Heap)
  8. Stickin’ It To The Man (Skyway 61)

The way that Mojomorphosis works is that the more seals you earn per song, the higher the meter goes when playing in that venue. With that being said, you'll have to play at least a 3 song (Or if you don't want to over-exert yourself: A 2 song) setlist in order to be able to fill up the Mojomorphosis meter all the way.

This can be done in Quick Gig, but if you're playing Unite the Clans mode, you're gonna want to do these perfectly to ensure you get the "Swift Victory" trophy. Bear in mind, you'll ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO DO Unite the Clans Mode SOLO to get the "Liberator of Ohm" as well.

Picking Off The Stragglers

After you finish up Unite the Clans mode, all you'll have to do is the individual trophies that involve playing with the band or earning the trophies for each respective instrument. Not much needs to be said here, other than the fact that you're going to want to find two friends willing to embarrass themselves with you playing this cumbersome concoction of a music game. Best of luck!

Individual Trophy Guides

Instrument-Centered Trophies

Endurance of the Voice
Get a streak of 100 on vocals.

Easy enough, just play "Bombtrack" on Recruit. You can try rapping your way through it, or you can use a fan (Or preferably an air horn since the damn game has a hard time recognizing when someone's SINGING) to get this easily. Some of the songs are catchy though, so you may not even need to resort to using the conventional methods.

Way of the Voice
Completed vocals tutorials.

There are only 4 lessons for most of the instruments, and it's elementary considering the music game genre. You may or may not gain a better understanding of the game by going through them, but it's a trophy for it anyway. Do them, and get the trophy. It doesn't matter what order you do them in, but it's important that you fill the criteria without skipping a step, otherwise you'll have to do the lesson over.

Endurance of the Axe
Get a streak of 200 on guitar.

For this particular trophy I'd recommend "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" on Master difficulty. It'll save you the grief of trying to make the notes you play perfect for the entire song.

Way of the Axe
Completed guitar tutorials.

See "Way of the Voice".

Learn Some Skills
Play a song with Power Chords turned on.

In order to get this trophy, you're going to need the SixString guitar.

Simply enable Power Chords through the pause menu, play through the song and it should pop up.

Power Chord Master
Hit every Power Chord in any song.

In order to get this trophy, you're going to need the SixString guitar.

Much like "Learn Some Skills", you'll have to play with the Power Chords turned on. You should try your hand playing on Recruit to make it easier, but if you're going for a basic song like "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid", feel free to rock out.

Endurance of the Skins
Get a streak of 200 on drums.

I'd recommend one of the lowest tier songs for this trophy. Either "Tick, Tick, Boom" or "Tired of You", since the rhythm tends to stay the same though both. I wouldn't suggest playing higher than Master difficulty because of the issues with calibrating the lag. Though, it's up to you to decide what to do in tackling this trophy.

Way of the Skins
Completed drum tutorials.

See "Way of the Voice".

One-Armed Band
Earn at least 3 seals playing an entire song using only one drumstick.

For this trophy you're going to need the AirStrike drumset.

The drumset works by having the pads act as sensors. Contrary to what the company advertised (As if you could move drumsticks that fast to push air towards the set anyway...), there are built-in sensors in the drumsticks. What you need to do in order to get this trophy is to play a song on Recruit (Unless of course you're feeling confident) and just set one of the drumsticks aside while trying to get 3 seals during a song. Again, pick from the earlier tiers to make your endeavors much easier.

Unite The Clans Trophies

One Band
Play a full setlist in Unite the Clans mode.

Very basic. Every gig you play during Power Gig during Unite The Clans mode can consist of one to three songs. Pick three short songs (Or at least the songs you can enjoy in the least), play through them and this trophy should ding.

One With The Clans
Earn 300 total seals over the course of Unite The Clans.

There are 5 potential seals you can earn per song. This calculates to 60 songs that you'll have to get 5 seals on which should coincide with the "Swift Victory" trophy. Do your best to max out on the songs. It's easy when playing it on Recruit (Go figure), but playing on higher difficulties on any instrument other than vocals can be frustrating because the charting is foreign for most avid music-genre gamers.

Unite The Rebels
In Unite the Clans, earn 5 seals in all songs of a three-song gig using Rockers from all three clans at once.

You'll get this (Hopefully) when you're going for "One With The Clans". Again, pick three short and easy songs, pick either an all male or all female band, get 5 seals on each and -Ding!-.

Whole Lotta Mojo
Fire Mojo powers 300 times over the course of Unite The Clans.

You'll get this one long before the end of Unite The Clans. If you're playing on the drums or guitar, just keep spamming select when your Mojo Meter fills up half-way. Whether or not this counts the Mojo "activated" by "bandmates" during the song is unknown at the moment, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. There are no glitches thus far that I know of.

Liberator of Ohm
Defeat the Headliner solo.

Before you start, it's very important that you'd been playing Unite The Clans SOLO the entire time you've been working on it - else this won't ding for you.

The Headliner is the last challenge in Unite The Clans mode. You'll be playing through a setlist of 5 songs and the two of you are competing to fill up your special Mojo Meter before the other. During the songs, you'll be able to use your regular Mojo Meter and Mojo abilities to sap energy from the Headliner (Sound like Guitar Hero III?). Be wary though, he can do the same to you so it's best you end it as quickly and painlessly as possible. I had this done playing on Recruit on Vocals.

Swift Victory
Complete all of Unite the Clans solo, playing only 80 songs

Before you start, it's very important that you'd been playing Unite The Clans SOLO the entire time you've been working on it - else this won't ding for you.

Again, it's very simple: Get 5 seals per song and complete each act as quickly as possible. There are only 4, and once you figure out the mechanics of how the story progression works it'll be a breeze. Just don't get lazy towards the end. Your progression depends on you maxing out your score for each song you play and you don't want to make your workload more dreary than it already is.

Multiplayer-Oriented Trophies

Power Trio
Get a 5-seal performance with three players.

Easy enough: Pick a song, gather a couple friends who aren't going to off themselves after doing something embarrassing as playing this game with you, blast your way through the song.

Mojo Synergy
Have 2 Mojo powers active at once in co-op.

The trophy is very much self explanatory: You basically activate your Mojo powers simultaneously during a song with your band. This won't count during solo play (For obvious reasons). Fill up your meter, fire it up at the same time as your bandmates. Easy enough, right?

Synergizers
Get 7 mojo synergies in one song in co-op.

Same thing as "Mojo Synergy", but you have to do it 7 times. I suggest playing "Cult of Personality" on whichever difficulty you're comfortable with.

Combo Mastery
Get 10 band streak bonuses in a single song in co-op.

Every so often during a song, if you manage to hit the notes perfectly you'll get a streak bonus individually. If the whole band manages to do the same thing, you'll get a band streak bonus. Simply do this 10 times during a song and it should ding.

Three's A Crowd
Play 10 songs with a full band.

See "Love That Tune".

Mojomorphosis-Related Trophies

Tearin' Up The Subway
Get Maximum Mojomorphosis at Rothchild Station.

Getting the Mojomorphosis trophies is very basic. What happens when you pick a setlist to play - either during Quick Gig or Unite The Clans - is that the venue changes gradually depending on how well you play the songs you've picked. After each song in the setlist, a meter in the upper right hand corner (Labelled Mojomorphosis) will show your progression on transforming the venue. For each and every trophy related to this, pick three songs, do well on them, and these should unlock in the middle of the third song (Or second if you're REALLY good).

Merry Go Round and Round
Get Maximum Mojomorphosis at Tilt.

See "Tearin' Up The Subway".

Harvesting The Garden
Get Maximum Mojomorphosis at The Grove.

See "Tearin' Up The Subway".

Igniting The Flame
Get Maximum Mojomorphosis at Riffslide Alley.

See "Tearin' Up The Subway".

Noise Pollution
Get Maximum Mojomorphosis at Axeworks.

See "Tearin' Up The Subway".

Total Enlightenment
Get Maximum Mojomorphosis at Sanctuary.

See "Tearin' Up The Subway".

Crafty Carrier
Get Maximum Mojomorphosis at The Heap.

See "Tearin' Up The Subway".

Stickin' It To The Man
Get Maximum Mojomorphosis at Skyway 61. (Quick Gig)

See "Tearin' Up The Subway".

Sweep-Up Trophies

Find Your Mojo
Fire a Mojo power as each character.

Very simple trophy to get. You don't need to Power Gig band set for this, but like I mentioned in the road map: You may as well since you'll need those instruments for the rest of the trophies. In order to make this easier on yourself, get two friends to take up the other instruments and play as the female cast first. Activate your Mojo powers during a gig at least once, then for the next song switch to the male cast and repeat. Very easy, no?

Master Performance
Get a 5-seal performance on any song.

See "Virtuoso Performance".

Virtuoso Performance
Get a 5-seal performance on all 3 songs of a setlist.

Much like the nature of other games in the music genre, your performance will be rated by seals depending on how well you do. To get 5 means you've done exceptionally well. To get this trophy, pick 3 songs you know you can breeze through, get the 5 seals for each song and this trophy should unlock at the end of the third song.

Technician
Complete a song with 75% accuracy or greater with any instrument.

See "Skilled Technician".

Skilled Technician
Complete a song with 100% accuracy on Virtuoso or Legend Difficulty on guitar, drums, or vocals.

There is a minimum difficulty to this trophy - Either Virtuoso or Legend.

Unlike the other games in this genre, your accuracy will be based on whether or not you hit the notes. To miss one will bring down your accuracy. So, in order for you to get this trophy you MUST hit all of the notes on whichever instrument you handle the best. For me, I got this playing "Bombtrack" on Vocals, playing on Virtuoso difficulty. Whether or not getting the notes perfectly during this stage is irrelevant - JUST - DON'T - MISS - ANY.

Perfectionist
Get 100% of the notes 'perfect' in any song.

Like "Skilled Technician" but you MUST get the notes PERFECT. Difficulty doesn't matter for this particular trophy, but know that playing "Bombtrack" on Vocals will not work for this trophy. Apparently you'll have to play a song that has at least some sort of fluctuation in the notes. If you can manage to get a fairly short song perfect, then go for it.

Love That Tune
Play Any Song more than 10 Times.

Since you can't fail out of a gig at all during the course of the game, you may as well just go to "Quick Gig" and play the same song over and over until this unlocks. Since I'm a big fan of The Offspring, I just played "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" over and over until I unlocked - which it did at the results screen.

Now Starring...
View the credits entirely.

You can either get this trophy before the end of Unite The Clans, or from the main menu. When you do see it though, just drop the instruments aside and get something to eat. It'll take about 7-9 minutes for it to roll all the way through anyway. Just be sure to let it go all the way through or you'll miss it.

Opposites Attract
Play an entire setlist singing with the opposite gender.

This trophy is kind of misleading. What I did was that I sang with a male cast member first, and when I got bored of looking at him I just switched to the female vocalist. Just keep in mind that you'll need a microphone and play a full setlist in order to get this trophy.

This space is so special: The platinum trophy has earned it's own spot. ;D

The Almighty Platinum Trophy

Hero of Ohm
Earn all other trophies.

See this? This is what investing $200 into this shoddy game will get you. Though, to be perfectly honest with you it can be worth it if you can see past the flaws of the game and try to appreciate what the underdogs are trying to do. It grew on me, so it should grow on you too. ^_^

For your bravery and courage to endure such a terrible ordeal, I salute you sir!

[it's really a shame that you can't platinum this PoS game without buying thoses stupid instruments, the prospect of a relatively easy platinum was the only reason to consider buying this crap]

Ha ha ha! I appreciate your encouragement. =D Honestly though, I find myself unable to update this guide on a daily basis. I'm sure I'll get it done eventually though. Unlike some games, the trophies for this one are very straightforward.

I guess you can try Amazon. Usually vendors from eBay don't do international shipping. :/
