Default Survival Roof (Hard)

Due to the fact that the roof is tapered putting plants that shoot in the back by the chimney doesnt work. So I found a method that gets me up to 5 flags... but at that point they overwhelm me... Does anyone have a method that works?

I found it to be rather easy. Anyways, your main offense should consist of Melon-pults and Winter Melons. Try something similar to the picture below.

I would use Tall-Nuts in the front, though. Take note of the Umbrella Leaf placements--Bungee/Catapult Zombies will never touch you. And of course don't forget the instants.

I used something vaguely similar to that, but went less heavily on the pults. Once you get to a certain point forward the straight shooting pods actually will clear the ledge. I believe what I used was:

Column 1: Sunflowers
Column 2: Sunflowers
Column 3: Melon Pults
Column 4: Melon Pults
Column 5: Triple pea Shooters (Forget the name)
Column 6: Flaming Stump (Also forget the name)

If you can get the pults to ice pults this creates enough of them to pretty much slow everything while firing non-stop triple fireballs in each row at everything coming. I think I also kept a column of empty flower pots with pumpkin shells on them in front of the rest just on the off chance that something got close or I needed to drop a quick kill item, but that was all it took. There might have been one more column of pults in the middle. I don't remember offhand if it was the 4th row or 5th where they clear the top of the roof, but it's 4:30 am and I just finished 6 hours of schoolwork, so I have a legitimate excuse.

all of the launcher style plants are the best, as the sloped roof doesn't effect them. the corn launcher and frozen watermelon launchers are great to slow everything down. then have the regular melon launcher to finish them off. even the split shooters are good on the front row, with the fast shooters at the ends.
