Well, this game is an easy platinum. Took me 6 days. The only difficult part for me was the dog catcher trophy & the game itself by freezing on me while I was in the middle of a race in level 7, TWICE actually. So my vote is a 4.

This game is very glitchy and sometimes makes you wanna scream or maybe throw your controller acroos your living room...but most the trophies are straight forward....got 5 comic books to get for platty.

I gave it a "4"

I was going to give it a 5 but with a thorough trophy guide it'll probably take people half the time. There are some tough missions that take numerous tries (singing in the rocks and perfect timing trophy).

Another thing is this isn't a 4-7 hours platinum... It takes a lot of time and the level 10 trophies are repetative. Not sure how long it took me but it was definitely over 12.

Also, this mainly a racing game (mostly driving) but for the races, the A.I. is pretty bad. No matter how many shortcuts you take you still can't out run them. And as soon as you turbo they turbo right along with you. It gets annoying.

All in all... It's sort fun for kids but definitely a little bit harder on some of the task trophies. It's on the same par with Monster vs Aliens (that had the frustrating DNA missions).

There are only few missions that will slow you down in this long (for a kids) game.

The dog catcher ,, I seemed to have better luck hitting the target by keeping the dog in about 1-2 o'clock from the frount of the car and once the rectiule turns darker green JUMP then shoot. and just skip the bulldogs.

and the "Slinging in the Rocks". For this one it's mostly luck I stayed at the bottom with my back to the grate lookin up the hill .. most of the colored ones come to the left or center. Spam the

I'll give it a 4.5...therefore must pick 5. The game is easy, but very glitchy. I hated the Dog Catcher SO much.

Slinging in the rocks though...it was easy, I got it first try...

But the tasks are the most frustrating part of the whole game. HATE the tasks. Especially again, the Dog Catcher...and the race one (level 10 desert only, I had to replay level 10 desert 7 times...)

To me, it's kinda harder than Monsters vs. Aliens, Planet 51's probably the hardest family game to platinum, this game takes a lot of time...and I was pulling my hair out a lot. Damn this game, thank gawd I don't have to do this anymore.

This is the first game I will have returned to the video store before completing.

1) The game is horrible. The story is piss poor, the lip synching is atrocious. I mean I know it's a kids' game about aliens, but my God......this is just purely awful.

2) The controls are even worse. Trying to control a vehicle is like trying to control an air-hockey puck going full speed.

3) The game might be a fair -- maybe even "easy" -- challenge for adults, but I think it might be too challenging for the children that would make up its target audience.

4) And of course, there's the glitching. I've already had a couple of occasions of making my way up to level 8 of some of the tasks, only to have the game freeze up on me and force me to start over.

5) There is nothing fun about the game at all. Not one thing. And that's the clincher for me. I could forgive 1-4 if the game were even remotely entertaining. I've put up with games with horrible controls, game-breaking glitches, and poor storylines before. But there was at least something about them that kept me interested. There is NOTHING about Planet 51 that keeps me interested. And I usually like games like this.

I just refuse to waste a perfectly good weekend sitting there frustrated while trying to play something that doesn't even entertain me.

I usually don't like voting a "10" on games like this, as most people rightfully would consider it trolling, but in this case, it really does fit. Not (entirely) because of the difficulty of the game, but because it's just that difficult to play through long enough to get the platinum without wanting to kill yourself in the process.

Yeah...I was actually pulling my hair out, smashing the table...because the freaking Dog Catcher. That stupid alien can't capture a dog to save his life....it was CLEARLY on green, hit the button and he misses.

And the flipping 10x tasks...it's so painfully boring...every 2 matches I had to do something else while leaving the PS3 on...doing all tasks without quitting alone took me 10 hours. >.>

I gave this a 4. But this is another one of those situations where I think a 3.5 would be more suitable. Anyhow, there are only a few legitimately difficulty trophies and these are only somewhat challenging. As alluded to above, the real challenge comes from not dying of bordom while doing all these repetitive tasks.
