Sorry for bumping this old thread but I felt it's better to ask this here than to open a new thread altogether which might even mislead some people. That said has there been any word out yet about a second part? Would really surprise me if they'd just end it at this game.

But a sequel seems inevitable. Its sales in Japan alone were to good to not guarantee a sequel, especially when you consider Fist of the North Star got a sequel too. So hopefully Tecmo Koei starts developing OP:KM 2 when they finish FotNS: KR 2. |

You're definitely right about how well the game did, which is why I have no doubts that a sequel will follow. I was just curious if one was at least hinted at from an official source or if we're not even that far yet. |

A sequel is almost guaranteed. Sales are great in Japan, and hopefully the faithful fans in the US/EU showed enough support by purchasing a good amount of the game.
What I want in the sequel: -More playable characters -More in depth story -Free mode -Encyclopedia mode with details on the story/characters for newcomers -A jump button? Lol... The way they did the characters just screams a potential and inevitable sequel. This game comes with a mere 13 playable characters, the actual manga has dozens of viable characters that can be put into this game, and the boss characters already have move sets for the AI to use against you. With a little tweaking, they can easily be converted to playable characters. |

the second game could have all the arcs they missed, could have the mainstory setup as like a MMO like you can travel the seas on your ships then when you dock its like pirate wariors, more combos, harder trophies(none glitched), longer storymode online versus, etc etc.

My vote goes to 'villain scenarios'. It seems really odd for this game not to make characters like Buggy, Crocodile, Arlong, the CP9ers and so on playable in the first place, so they REALLY need to fix that. Seriously, ALL OTHER Musou games have playable villains. Fist of the North Star had entire 'dream scenarios' dedicated to villains, and they were great fun. (Even though the game overall was so-so.)
And while we're at it, some 'alternate history' scenarios would be good too. Those are half the fun of these sorts of games, normally - the ability to flip the bird at established history and do the things that the characters COULDN'T do in the show. Like rescuing Ace and/or Whitebeard at Marineford, or beating CP9 at Water Seven, or defeating Bartholomew Kuma at the Archipelago... you get the idea. Of course, 'villain scenarios' also fall under that, since they'd - by necessity - give the villains a chance to WIN.

More playable characters, more missions, missed quite a few other fights and to play as bad guys, would love to play as rob lucci or Kuma and also a jump button it would add to the whole fighting experience 'cause it will open up new moves and what not.

If I remember right, Fist of the North Star had a jump button. So I was disappointed this one didn't had a jumping option. |
