There are a lot of bad partners out there. And... I dont just mean people who suck, I mean people who are just bad - bad partners in general.
I've played with noob players who had better teamwork common sense than a lot of good players. Main reason probably is NG is a solo game and suddenly had team thrown into it. The pros dont think about the elements of the team part. And the noobs are too stupid to think about anything except "well if that thing can kill my crappy self... it must definitely be able to kill my partner. So i'll just keep charging in trying to help him so he doesn't die!". You all know what i mean. So i'm just gonna throw some simple shit out there of how not to annoy and/or get your partner killed. 1. Dont spam your bow, it may look cool and stop even larger enemies in their tracks... but it also interrupts combo strings on an enemy. Use it on roaming enemies so you can start a combo safely, or to stop other mobs from getting the sneak up on your partner while he is busy. Dont just shoot it for shooting's sake. 2. Dont spam shurikens... read above. Though they don't interrupt to the extent bows do, they can interrupt slower weapons on smaller enemies. 3. If you cant handle a boss solo, dont try to handle it co-op. Let your partner handle it, otherwise you're going to run in interrupting everything they do and get them or yourself killed. 4. If you see a chest you can open, dont hog all the health to yourself. Hold L1 you noob, watch how the essence floats there waiting for one of you to command it. 5. After an Ultimate Ninpo, dont hold Triangle. I'm serious... I will slap you. 6. After you open a chest... read above. 7. Rules 4-6 dont apply if you're both at full health. 8. THIS IS ONLY FOR PROS - For easy co op on the four greater fiends: If you're fighting a boss, take turns hitting it. The person the boss is on should be doing the usual combo after the boss hits them. The free partner should be as directly behind the boss as they cant get, then they can combo the boss WHILE it is attacking. This way they dont make the boss stagger or interrupt. If you hit enough to make them stagger, you're doing too much or doing too late. 9. Dont Spam Explosive UTs or attacks on bosses. They give extremely long i-frames and the damage will be shit-none, and if your partner is attacking the boss the stagger is interrupted and they are in for some revenge. It also blocks vision and makes dodging hard =/ Examples of explosive UTs are: Rachel; Scythe; Enma's Fang. Examples of explosive Attacks are: Ayane's bomb shurikens, Ryu's cannon. 10. When fighting multiple bosses. If one of you dies, the bosses will be locked onto the one who is alive. Example 1 - UN01: Player A is fighitng Volf. Player B is twirling/dodging Alexei and Elizabeth. If Player B dies now Alexei and Elizabeth have moved onto Player A. When A revives B, the bosses are STILL on Player A. And B shouldn't just run away expecting to be dodging bosses again, B needs to grab bosses off of A. This is just an example, this rule applies to ALL missions involving multiple bosses. 11. Do NOT Steal bosses off of your partner. Fast and unpredictable bosses such as Fiend Genshin just might make you regret it, sit back and wait your turn. Keep your valuable health so that you can revive your partner if shit happens. Otherwise you're just going to make yourself lose health you could need later, and when you both end up dead you can repeat over to yourself how you would have survived if you hadn't been greedy and/or egotistical and pulled the boss off of him for no good reason. And you might just piss your partner off. ___ Reviving... Revives cannot be done after a twirl with Rachel. Revives cannot be done after a dodge you did immediately after blocking an attack, or a dodge after a guardbreak. To revive after a dodge it has to be a normal, simple dodge. If you try to revive after these things, then as Ryu you will throw a shuriken leaving you vulnerable to get hit, even worse if you spammed the circle button and throw multiple shurikens. And for Rachel you will shoot your gun, leaving you vulnerable to get hit as well. ![]() Oh dont worry... I'm sure I'll think of more after playing again for a few days, sigh. you're hilarious. i agree with everything except the fighting greater fiend part. all greater fiends should be one on one except liz. because some guys dont know what they're doing and end up getting both players kill. you should just scratch that cuz ppl will run into walls before actually understanding what to do.

@devilryuujin i totally agree.
i hate when ppl suck up the essence after finishing an ultimate ninpo and use it as a ut. like duh the whole reason we used an ultimate ninpo was 2 gain some health back and u just go right out suck it for a ut. if u dont have health most of the x u wont survive. yea cognivision dude u one funny guy man. u just flat out say whats on ur mind lmao bro. |

Dude had a partner in MN01 kept trying to hit Genshin and then he'd run away from Genshin expecting me to save his ass.... so I take Genshin off of him and he does the crap again constantly interrupting me.
He was using Tonfas and so was I, I guess he thought he could do the one hit on Genshin even while he was just standing on the ground. Not realising it only works if Genshin is in the air already. So this noob is running around for like the 6th time from Genshin and I tell him to BACK OFF. I go hit Genshin and this dumbass comes right back up and gets slashed and dies lol. I let him die and sent him another mail telling him he was a waste of time. I edited Rule 8 to stem your worries lol Last edited by CogniVision; 02-12-2011 at 09:45 PM. |

that sounds really awful. yeah i get piss really easily now. like im really close to just end helping guys in general who are not skilled enough to survive at all. it wastes so much of my time... especially if i get us to the end of the mission and have my partner spit in my face by dying like its on purpose. im like nooooo wth you are not worth my time anymore

Anyway, that's why there is rule 3... =P Of course just like handlin a boss solo takes practice, co op would take practice for most. Even though the execution is pretty damn simple. Only reason Liz people take on co op is because she is hard and cheap compared to the other fiends. Otherwise her execution is the same crap. And because of her hard and cheap ways people take advantage of 360T to kill her, which makes it easy since its no problem for 2 people to stand there and do it. You'd do more damage though doing the correct way of co op attackin which you've probly seen me do when we play while you're doin the 360T and I hit her from behind with a 4xT attack while she is trying to tail whip you. Same execution as other bosses. The only fiend that is tough to co op is Alexei if you dont do it properly, if a person tries to mix in more attacks than he can and makes Alexei jump around it'll fuck the other one who is trying to hit from behind... and since people are used to just playing solo and not thinking about teamplay they do it a lot. |

It's kinda like the invisible walls they use for those dogs to keep them from going into the neighbor's yards. And the dogs just stop in front of it like there is something there blocking them, I guess the fiends are as dumb as animals.
