Another White Moonflower question

At what point in the growing cycle is the flower type determined?
Because i'm wondering if when you plant all the seeds and save game, you put the clock forward 24 hours, and dont get a white one... couldn't you just keep reloading that save until you do?
or reload it at its original time, then change the clock forward again or something like that?
just to save planting all those seeds again!

It doesnt work i dont think. I tried that about 6 times and i didnt get one, i replanted 2 times then it worked. I think you have to harvest and replant :/
