do NOT buy this game

I'd like to summarize every other thread around here with one title. Honestly, I've played BETAs that aren't as broken as this piece of shit port.

I'm not even going to talk about the physics, or the racing portion but here's a few points.

1) EA games robbed us of the limtied edition cars because not all of us can pre-order
2) They robbed region 2 of the cars everyone is excited about
3) They rob good players of their XP when they get too much of it because they think it's "cheating".

4) Multiplayer simply does not WORK. To play ONE race you'll have to spend HOURS in either loading times, restarting your PS3, or finding a game that actually connects.
5) Autolog does not work. It does not synch, there were 4 occasions where I leveled, or just 2 hours ago I beat my RUN time by 2 mins through 2 stages but logging back in made my times disappear. Oh, it also says I own 3 stages out of 10 when in fact I'm at the top of all the stages speedwalls.
6) As if multiplayer isn't bad enough, you'll need to play it AND with partners just to unlock half the content. They're pretty much forcing you to buy their timesaver pack.
7) You'll have to spend 7 hours in front of the TV to play 2 hours of gameplay (the run). Earlier when I played those 2 stages, I spent an hour and a half even though my times were 11:50 and 13:45.

lol I logged in, typed this post and the multiplayer session is still loading the next race. lol.

Feel free to add more, and vote please.

Other features lost:

1) You can't snap a picture mid-race like you could in hot pursuit
2) You can't listen to soundtracks
3) You can't have private multiplayer sessions
4) You can't see who's the douchebag with music playing on his earphones, no indicator who's got a mic and who doesn't.
5) You can't report a player or view profile during multiplayer.

Btw, still loading.

I figured out why it takes forever to level up. The game just froze and I logged back in to see me level 27 right where I started before played. At the end I was level 28 with 10% of the bar. FML


The game doesn't fucking save your progress unless you go back to the main menu without crashing the game.

I made the dumb mistake of thinking it would be in stereo, but it probably wasn't. I'm one of those that needed the custom soundtrack. Here's how you do it. You tap the PS button. It takes you to the XMB. From there, you choose a playlist, or a single album and it will play.

I dont know how I've persisted through this junk but I've finished 'the run' (on extreme using the last stage change difficulty tactic) and completed all the challenges with gold or better. I've never come across a game that gets my back up so much.

I'm only level 16 so got ages to go yet to get to level 30 and need the objectives on multiplayer then I will take great pleasure in snapping the disc in as many pieces as possible as I wouldn't want to sell it and cause someone else the same pain of having to play this POS.

I'm going to say "Yes" just for the sole fact that you should have put a third option saying something like "Yes, but wait till its cheaper"...

Because NFS The Run isn't actually as horrid as people are making it out to be, yes the controls aren't as clean as Hot Pursuits, yes the Reset thing can activate at really stupid times SOMETIMES (honestly only happened to me twice though, I strayed off the road pretty far many times and got back on it just fine), and yes I will admit the online needs some serious readjustments but it isn't gonna make the trophies impossible (I got the Bonus Wheel trophy in about 3 hours of legit playing online)...

The game isn't the best and I agree Black Box shouldn't be making NFS games ever, but the game is still a good/fun enough game to grab when its 20-30 bucks used or whatever.

Tested the demo version of the game and did not like. NFS Hot Pursuit is much better. I hope that next year will be a new Need for Speed by Criterion Games.

I wasn't trying to bump the thread (this section is semi-dead anyway), I was trying to illustrate how much time it takes but thanks for ruining it. It's ok though, you're the forum cop.

Exactly, I usually give my games to friends or family after I'm done but I'm throwing this piece of shit away as soon as I hit level 30.

You're missing the point, money is no object here neither is the gameplay. This is a BETA of a PORT, it's not the complete game and it's extremely frustrating. Also, no one in his right mind would spend 80% of the time in loading screens even if the game was for free.

Oh and as far as platinum difficulty goes, it's a piece of cake. I've won well over a 100 online races, I pretty much won or deserved to win every other race I played but fucking noobs keep ramming me off the road. I've also got a run time of 2:04:xx AND I'm at the top of almost every challenge without trying. There were only a handful of challenges where I had to restart to get gold/platinum. I got platinum more than I got gold. So again, this has NOTHING to do with difficulty.

The game is BROKEN. It's not doing what it's supposed to do. It doesn't autosave when it should, when you reset you lose at least a second and your speed drops significantly in certain tracks, you only get to see your friends in autolog ONCE when you first start the game, multiplayer is full of glitches (refer to my youtube account), and loading times take at least twice as long as the actual gameplay. Oh, and if you gain too much XP you get leveled backwards for "cheating". God forbid you're good at a video game.

What level are you? How many online races have you played? Try to spend a couple of hours playing online and leveling up only for the game to crash and all your progress is lost.

Another autolog bug is the run time. It says I own 3 stages out of 10 but I owned them all, it also says my time is 2:06:xx but it's 2:04:xx as I mentioned. I checked my stages one by one and the summary in my profile is WRONG. God damn game can't even calculate my progress. I'll post a picture in a bit.

Seriously, it's pathetic. I go through the stage leaderboards one by one and I find myself at the top in each one yet somehow it doesn't show in my profile.

I voted yes as well. I will admit I wasn't very fond of the game at first but the more I've played it i.have begun to really enjoy it. Its definitely not perfect and no where near as pristine as Hot Pursuit but personally I am enjoying my time with it. Sorry you're having so many issues man. Good luck!
