I mean I just got it yesterday and I thought it was going to be better but I was mistaken the ougis are too short and weak, in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm they were stronger and that's what I liked about it also the fact that the ougis are very short they just seem like like normal moves while the original you had them longer and they were really good I liked them better IMO they messed up on the sequel but I haven't started on the story just went to the 1 vs com matches but I expected this game to be better than Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm I guess since they made it multiplatform they had to dumb down the game since all the data would not fit on the 360. It should of just been a PS3 exclusive instead

I must say I am a bit disapointed in the ougis as well, but to be honest after playing the singleplayer campaign I like this game more than the first one. I think the main fights are done awesomely. Even though they changed a lot from the anime/manga originals to fit the video game format, the managed to capture te essence of the show perfectly.
And I really don't think the ougis being shorter has anything to do with the limited capacities on xbox. My guess is that since they have online multiplayer now the wanted the shorten the cinematic parts of regular fights, to keep the pace. Also I'm already anoyed by people using the same characters and their same ougis all the time. I don't even want to imagine seeing a three times longer version of sasukes ougi battle after battler after battle again. |

I'm not really disappointed at the Ougi's length, the one thing I'm disappointed in is the fact there were more potential fights that could be done as boss fights, such as Hidan vs Shikamaru and Sasuke vs Deidara.

I just finished the game the other day, and while i agree with most people here about the Ultimate Jutsus being too short and not that strong it didn't bother me as the fighting is a lot more fun than in shitty games like street fighter.lol. Two things that kinda annoyed me though were loosing health after fights meaning you couldnt get hit and had to retry if you did, as i like to go all out in fights and dont really care if im down in the red. And the other thing was not being able to sprint. Neither of them big things though. Naruto rocked!

THERE'S a Sasuke Vs. Deidara fight in the story..
And as I recall it was 2 parts.. one with normal Deidara, and one in his awakening mode.. For the Ultimate Jutsu to be short.. believe me.. it's better this way. If it wasn't this short or weak it was going to be so annoying in an Online battle.. There's a lot of changes in this Ultimate Ninja, some were bad and some were good of course, but you can't say it's not the best action fighting game until now.. One of the worse changes IMO is that they didn't give us multiple Ultimate Jutsus to choose from... this.. this just was too bad (even though I know it's going to be a strategic game then) |

It would have taken ages for them to put in multiple Ultimate Jutsu for each character. Plus, what would the moves even be? We haven't seen quite a few of the characters even get into a fight in the manga. Ino and Hinata, for example. Anyway, the first game didn't have them and I can't really think of any that do, so I wasn't expecting it in this game.
They simplified the Ultimate Jutsu moves this time to keep the game balanced, doing extra damage by putting in button combos would give some people an advantage over others. People would complain. They need to short because nobody wants to sit around for a whole minute watching their character getting beaten up. Online battles need to be fast paced, a huge amount of time would have been wasted on cinematics if they kept things the same as in the first game. The changes they made this time around made perfect sense to me since they were trying to make a game that could be played competitively online. |

Gotta agree with the general opinion here.
Since the game has online support, the Ultimate Techniques had to be more effective instead of flashy to avoid online battles becoming annoying. I'm actually thankful they did this, because I was afraid I'd have to get on button mashing competitions during Ultimates on online fights, and having to rely on the absence of lag to stand a chance during those. People with faster connections would have the upper hand, and it'd be unbalanced as hell. And that'd generate baw. But I guess people baw over every change, be it good or bad...

I really loved the story mode, and the battle system is great; not too difficult that you can't pick it up easily, and not too easy that you master it in seconds.
The changes made to the story don't detract from it, like Deidara not losing an arm etc., since there are some things that the developers would have had far too much trouble with otherwise, since one armed Deidara would have to be an almost separate character. |
