game freezes at start menu

is there anyone else this is happening to? what should i do?

This happened to me a lot too. Let me guess, your game is hooked up to the internet?

The game freezes at the start when you already have a download settings save file.

To solve this problem, delete your downloaded save file in the game folder before starting up MK. The game will always remake that file everytime it starts up when connected to the internet so you have to delete that file everytime before you start the game.

Deleting that file doesnt do anything or doesnt effect your game in any way.

A second method is to log off PSN and start the game up.

Yeah i only saw this happen once the other day thought nothing of it but now i know why, thanks for the heads up on that.

This is happening alot to me too... and I mean practically EVERYTIME I start up Mortal Kombat ! This is disgusting !!!

COME ON DEVELOPERS... FIX THE BUGS BEFORE RELEASING A GAME !!!!!

The only way I can get around this is by disabling my internet connection before starting up Mortal Kombat.

If I do want to play online, it's like russian roulette as to whether the game will actually get in or not.

The game starts up - I press Start and then I watch the round dragon symbol spin round. 50/50 chance that it may freeze up here at this point. Then scorpion uppercuts subzero and the game slows down again. It again does something behind the scenes and then it DEFINATELY locks up (if it didn't lock up at the previous screen).

Such a beautiful game - it's just a pity that this stupid bug is ruining this game!!!!!! 99% polished but being ruined by a pitiful startup bug!!

The only way to resolve this bug, when the game freezes, is to power off the PS3 and start it up again. 3-4 power ups and reboots after a while tends to annoy the CRAP out of me !!!!

Very disappointed
