Introduction:

This guide is written for the Vita version of the game. Each game has different trophy list. A complete PS3 guide can be found here: PS3 Guide

There are a few things you should do and be aware of before starting that will make this Platinum much easier.

Roster Setup
The first thing you should do is edit two teams. Give one team maximum stats for it's 8 starting position players and a starting pitcher and reduce all the stats of another team. This will make many of the trophies much easier. You can edit teams under the options menu, then selecting "Edit Player". After you have edited the rosters, make sure you save it in a new save slot so you can call upon it as often as you need it. This will be helpful in pitching a perfect game.

Gameplay Settings
Another menu you need to be familiar with is the Gameplay options. This is found under Options>User Settings>Gameplay. This can also be adjusted while in games. This is where you will change hitting and pitching difficulties and control types. A few trophies will require you to use certain options that are found in this menu. You can change several other game related settings from here, none of which effect trophies.

Slider Adjustments
The final, and most important thing to know is that sliders can be used and adjusted to customize a gameplay experience to your skill level. A lot of trophies are made easier with specific slider adjustments. You can change the sliders within options menu from the main menu or anytime during the game. Think of these as cheats as they greatly improve your abilities while decreasing the CPU's, which creates an unbalanced experience. I highly suggest only adjusting them for the purpose of getting the trophies as quickly as possible and not for normal playing. When the trophy descriptions call for certain types of slider adjustments, refer to these:
These Affect You
  • Human Contact
  • Human Power
  • Human Timing
  • Human Sold Hits
  • Human Starter Stamina
  • Human Pitcher Control
  • Human Foul Frequency
These Affect CPU
  • CPU Contact
  • CPU Power
  • CPU Timing
  • CPU Timing
  • CPU Solid Hits
  • CPU Pitcher Control
  • CPU Pitcher Consistency
  • CPU Strike Frequency
  • CPU Pickoffs
  • CPU Foul Frequency
Global (Affect both Teams)
  • Fielding Errors
  • Throwing Errors
  • Fielder Run Speed
  • Fielder Reaction
  • Baserunner Speed
  • Baserunner Steal Ability
Walkthrough:

Step 1 - Exhibition
Nearly all the trophies in this game can be earned playing Exhibition games. You must play a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game. This means you can't fast forward, change teams or save. Play all your games at the new Marlins Park until you have unlocked Fish off a Barrel.

Step 2 - Home Run Derby
You will need to hit 10 home runs in a row to unlock Winning. This will most likely prove to be one of the hardest trophies in the game. There are also five trophies for hitting various targets in five different stadiums. Home Run Derby is the best mode to hit these targets. There is one additional target you must hit in Miami for Fish off a Barrel that is not ideal to attempt while in Home Run Derby as it is located behind home plate.

Step 3 - Online
There is no Diamond Dynasty mode in the Vita version of The Show so instead, there are two trophies for earning XP. You will need to reach 300 then 500 XP. Each game has set number of XP available to earn, depending on the rank of the players and the winner takes 75% and the loser takes 25% of the available XP.

I do not recommend boosting these trophies. This series is well known for issuing bans to players that have boosted. However, if you choose to ignore my warnings, you can visit the Boosting Thread to find partners.

Congratulations!
You got all of the MLB® 12 The Show™ Trophies!

Million Dollar Arm
In any game mode, throw a perfect game against a CPU controlled team. Must be done in a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game.

This requires you to throw a perfect game. This means you can not give up a single hit, walk or allow a runner to get on via an error. You will have to start over if a runner reaches base at any time.

You also must play a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game. This means no fast forwarding, no changing teams and no saving. You can pause and change sliders or other adjustments.

The easiest way to get this is to edit your team, especially the starting pitcher and your teams defense. Also, completely decrease your opposing teams stats before you start. Adjust sliders for a pitching edge, decrease the CPU's hitting sliders and adjust fielding sliders. If you end up allowing a runner reach base for the first time in the 9th inning, you will unlock Sooo Close! instead.

Sooo Close!
Lose your shot at a perfect game or no hitter in the 9th inning. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

If you have not allowed a hit entering the 9th inning, all you'll need to do is give up a hit. If you are also pitching a perfect game, meaning you have not allow a single runner to reach base via a hit, walk or error then all you have to do is walk a batter.

If you have not yet earned Million Dollar Arm and are currently throwing a perfect game, then try to earn that instead.

Winning
Hit 10 consecutive home runs in Home Run Derby™.

Using your favorite power hitter, hit 10 home runs in a row during Home Run Derby. Edit the player to have max power if they don't already have it. This is all based on your timing ability. To make it a little more difficult, not every pitch will be ideal. There is a certain amount of luck involved, but you can increase that by laying off those low or outside pitches. I highly recommend going into the audio settings once in the game and turn off the PA announcer.

Also, the final contestant only plays until he has reached 10 outs or has the high score, so if you are on your last contestant, restart the entire event as it's possible the game would end in the middle of your streak.

King Slayer
In Exhibition Mode, beat the team that is ranked first overall in the team select screen with Pitching and Batting difficulties set to Legend. Must be done in a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game.

During the team select menu, you will see each teams overall rating. Find the number one team which, as of this posting, is the Yankees if you have the default roster. You should edit their lineup but please note, if you reduce their stats, they may no longer be the number one rated team.

To successfully make the team bad, increase other stats that are less meaningful. For example, if you decrease their entire starting lineups power, you'll need to increase baserunning or bunting to compensate. You can also increase relief pitchers stamina and increase the entire starting pitchers to max to further reduce the stats of their starting lineup.

Once you have done that, you can feel free to edit the team you choose to play as. As long as your teams overall rating is not the top, you should have a huge advantage. When you play the game, you will have to make sure your batting and pitching difficulties are set to legend. Adjust sliders even further to give you an even bigger advantage. Make sure you do not fast forward, change teams or save.

Note: You must start the game with difficulty set to legend. If you change it after entering the game, you'll have to restart the game. Crazy-TrainZ28 adds that you can also play as the All-Star team.

Rally Killer
In any game mode, hit into 2 double plays in a game with the same player. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

You'll need to ground into two double plays with the same player. Adjust the baserunners speed slider to the minimum. With a runner on first, hit with a contact swing to increase the odds of a ground ball. Just have the same player hit into two double plays during the course of a single game and this will be yours.

For the Greater Good
In any game mode, get a broken bat base hit.

This is a little bit of a luck based trophy. Edit your team's stats to have maximum speed and then increase the sliders for hitting and baserunning speed. Lower the opposing teams arm velocity slider. It's less likely that you'll drive a broken bat hit ball into the outfield, so we're going for an infield single here.

The biggest challenge may be getting a broken bat swing. This is easiest achieved while facing a hard throwing fastball pitcher. Edit an opposing teams starter to have a maximum stats on his fastball, while lowering the stats of the other pitches. Whilst in game, there is a chance to break the bat on any given pitch but it's most likely going to happen on a inside pitch.

Contact Killer
In any mode excluding RttS, play an entire 9 inning game without striking out. Must be done in a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game against a CPU controlled team.

To make this easy, edit your players to have high contact and adjust sliders for contact. You do not have to win this game, just complete it without striking out. To make this even easier, edit the opposing team's starting pitcher and make all his pitches the same speed, which you achieve by adjusting his velocity in the pitch. An 80MPH fastball and change up will look the same to you and you won't be fooled into swinging early or late

Increasing your Foul Frequency slider will also help you foul off a close pitch instead of swinging and missing. Decreasing the Pitch Speed slider will give you more time to judge if pitches will be a strike or not. Also, increase the CPU's Strike Frequency.

Quality Start
Throw more than 70% first pitch strikes in a complete game victory. Must be done in a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game against a CPU controlled team.

Simply throw a strike to start off every batter. You can miss a few but as long as you throw a first pitch strike to 70% of the batters in an uninterpreted game, you will get this trophy. Change pitching to rookie and choose the pitching controls you are most familiar with.

Meatball Buffet
Bat around in an inning. Must be completed on All-Star or higher Batting difficulty. Must be done in a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game against a CPU controlled team.

Batting around in an inning requires you to send 10 men to the plate. If the batter who leads off the inning gets up to bat once again, this trophy will pop. You will need to set the hitting difficulty to All-Star but you can select whichever hitting controls is easiest for you. For most that will be "Timing" Controls. Use an edited team with max batting stats to help make this much easier along with the appropriate sliders. Chances are, if you do this within the first 3 innings, you will probably unlock Early Exit.

Solid D
Using Pure Analog Throwing, with throwing difficulty set to All-Star or higher, complete a 9 inning game without an error. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

Start a game with Pure Analog Throwing with the difficulty set to All-Star. Leave the Throwing Meter on. If you adjust this at the beginning of the game, restart the game. Also, edit your teams arm strength and accuracy as well as all fielder and error related sliders.

Analog throwing will require you to point the right stick in the direction of the base you intend to throw it at. For example, when throwing to first, hold it directly to the right, or the 3 o'clock position on the stick. If you hold it slightly up or down from this position, it increases your chances for errors.

When throwing, you will see red rings under your player which indicates the strength of the throw. The longer you hold the stick, the harder the throw. Hold it to long and chances are you will throw the ball away resulting in an error. If you throw the ball perfectly, you will see a green circle around the throwing meter below you. If you reduce baserunner speed as well as edit a CPU teams run speed down, you shouldn't need to throw the ball exceptionally hard, unless it's hit deep into the hole. So take it easy. All errors will negate this trophy, not just throwing ones.

Don't Phase Me Bro
In any game mode, hit a home run off a 100+ MPH pitch. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

You will need to face off against a power pitcher or edit one. You're more likely to get a 100 MPH pitch after the pitcher first enters the game. Edit a starting pitcher to give him max fastball stats, and reduce the other pitches stats. Unless the fastball is thrown in the lower portion of the strike zone, most likely it will be 100 MPH. Using Guess Pitch, just wait for the heater. Play as the road team and if you fail in the first inning, just restart the game until you get it.

Early Exit
In any game mode, knock out the opponent's starting pitcher before the end of the 3rd inning. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

Simply score enough runs in the first three innings that the opposing manager puts in a relief pitcher. This shouldn't be to difficult if you use all your sliders to your advantage by increasing your abilities and decreasing your opponents. If you still have difficulties, edit the stats of your team to max. You can also change the manager hook slider to increase the chances of the manager pulling the pitcher.

Zone Plus Analog Blast
With hitting difficulty set to All-Star or harder, hit a home run using Zone Plus Analog controls. This trophy is not unlockable in Home Run Derby™ modes.

Zone Plus Analog uses the to adjust your players stride as well as the to place the location of your swing. This takes a little practice to get down. You will have to pull the the right stick then push it back up to swing. It takes a little while to get it down and the timing is different for each pitch. You will also need to push the towards the area where the ball will be when you swing

For fastballs, I quickly push right as the pitcher is releasing the ball, then to swing. For off speed pitches, you'll need to start a little later. I recommend using guess pitch and location and sit on that pitch if you are not experienced with this control type. If you guess location low and are correct, move the down slightly. Make sure you are set at All-Star hitting difficulty and ZPA for controls.

Pulsating
With the pitching difficulty set to All-Star or higher, use Pulse Pitching to strike out the side. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

This is an easy trophy. Set your pitching difficulty to All-Star and select Pulse Pitching controls. Simply strike out three batters in one inning. It doesn't matter how many hits or runs you give up, as long as you strike out three batters in a single inning you will get this trophy. If the opponent hits a popup, just let the ball drop. Have your infielders hold the ball when hit at them.

Pulse Pitching is the new control type and uses a pulsating circle for pitch accuracy. Simply select your pitch type you want to throw and press when the circle is at it's smallest point.

Back, Back, Back, Back, Back...
Hit a home run of 490ft or more in Home Run Derby™.

Make sure you use a player with max power. Simply keep playing the Home Run Derby and you will eventually hit a 490ft Home Run. This distance isn't very common so stick with it and you will get it. I found the best stadium to do this in was Coors Field (Colorado Rockies). The ball has a tendency to carry. Hit the ball perfectly to dead center and you should get this.

Run Benjie, Run!
Steal a base with a player whose primary position is Catcher. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

Edit any catcher to have max speed and baserunning ability and then increase baserunners speed sliders. It will also help to decrease CPU's pickup frequency. You can also edit the catchers arm strength and accuracy if needed. Start a game as the road team and put your catcher in the lead off spot. Simply get him on base and attempt a steal. If you fail to steal the base, restart the game.

In The Bag!
As the batter, hit 1st, 2nd, or 3rd base with the ball. Trophy is not achievable in Home Run Derby™ or Challenge of the Week.

This is a trophy that will come over time. You will need to hit the ball and have it hit the base. This is somewhat of a luck based trophy but you can increase the chances by swing for contact . Also, don't play with max power sliders. Lower your power sliders and increase your contact to increase your odds. You can fast forward to your at-bats.

Project Nemesis posted these slider adjustments that people seem to have better luck with when using a contact swing :

Quote:
Originally Posted by Project Nemesis View Post

You definitely don't want maxed out power when going for this since you will most likely hit the ball over the bag or hard enough that it bounces over the bag. Many of mine were hard grounders through the infield using this setup.

Cruzball
Playing as the pitcher in any game mode, intentionally walk a batter, then turn a double play. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

With less than two outs, intentionally walk a batter. Then induce a double play with the next batter. If you fail to turn the double play, just intentionally walk the next batter and try again. Throwing pitches low in the zone increases the odds of the ball being hit on the ground, hopefully at one of your infielders.

Squeezeball
In any game mode, win the game with an RBI bunt. Must be done in a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game against a CPU controlled team.

This can be a pain in the butt because if you fail, you will have to start the entire game over. As the home team, play to a tie score heading into the 9th. During the ninth inning, get a runner to third base and have the following batter place down a drag bunt using just after the pitch is released. If you feel good about being able to bunt the next pitch, you can put on a suicide squeeze by stealing right before the pitch. That will usually result in a game winning bunt. The one thing you want to be careful of is avoiding a game ending walk off Home Run. If you fail to score, just simply hold the opposing team in the next half inning and try again.

Increasing your baserunners speed by editing your players speed and adjusting the baserunners sliders will make this much easier as well as increasing your teams bunting skills.

Plowman
As a baserunner, plow the catcher. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

To plow the catcher, press when the catcher is in position. If the catcher is not in position, you will run past home plate instead of colliding. If your baserunning is set to auto, you will not be able to initiate the collision, however, the computer controlled baserunner may still plow the catcher and earn you the trophy. Advance your runner around third base every chance you get.

"RESPECT THE GAME!"
In any game mode, enter a game with a mismatching uniform.

This is the first trophy you can earn. When starting up a game, you will be asked to select the uniform top and bottom. Select either a home or an away jersey, and then select the opposite pants.

Don't Try That Again
On defense, throw a runner out at 3B or home plate from the outfield. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

This will most likely occur several times while playing and winning as every team. The CPU has a tendency to sometimes run from first to third on a hit that you can easily throw out the opposing runner from the outfield. If you throw out a runner from the outfield at either third base or home plate, this will be yours.

Sombrero Dealer
In any mode, strike out the same player four times in a game. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

You can play on any difficulty and use any control scheme. Just strike out a single player four times. If you don't care about winning the game, you can always just intentionally walk the opposing teams players until you get to the one you are trying to strike out four times to speed things up.

Vulture a Win
In any mode, blow a save and get the win with the same pitcher. Must be done in a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game against a CPU controlled team.

Head into the 9th with a one run lead. Put in your closer and give up just one single run. In your next at bat, take the lead without replacing that pitcher and hold on for the win.

The Old Fashioned Way
In any mode, earn a save by having your reliever pitch the last 3 innings of a win. Must be done in a full, uninterrupted, 9 inning game against a CPU controlled team.

A three inning save requires you to put in a reliever in the 7th inning with a lead of any size. It could be one run or ten runs. As long as you put the reliever in at the beginning of the 7th inning and he finishes the game without giving up the lead, you'll get this trophy.

You Blew it
In any mode, blow your opponents save opportunity. Must be done against a CPU controlled team.

This requires you to be down by at least one run heading into the 9th inning and tying the game. You do not have to win the game, just blow the save chance from the opposing pitcher.

Take Out Your Rival
In any mode, hit the opposing pitcher with a pitch.

Make sure you that the home team is a National League team otherwise you'll have the designated hitter. When the pitcher is up to bat, simply aim right at him and plunk him.

Loud and Clear
Hit a home run into the speaker in center field at Dodger Stadium™. (LAD)

You will have no problem finding this speaker at Dodger Stadium but you will notice that it's pretty narrow. Hitting it will require a deep blast to dead center without being to far left or right. Grab your favorite power hitter and take to Home Run Derby to make this easier.

Go Chasin' Waterfalls
Hit a home run into a waterfall at Kauffman Stadium™. (KC)

Kauffman Stadium is home of the Royals and the 2012 All-Star game. Just left and right of dead center field are where you will find these waterfalls. Just keep hitting the ball out that direction and this trophy will eventually pop. It may take a few hits of the waterfall as it doesn't always register as being hit. Again, tackle this in Home Run Derby.

Texas Two-Step
Hit a home run onto Greene's Hill in CF at Rangers Ballpark In Arlington™. (TEX)

This is a can't miss. There is a huge grassy area in center field at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington that is begging you to play Home Run Derby with your favorite hitter. Simply hit the grass and this is yours.

Deep Dish
Hit a home run into the Bullpen Sports Grill in rightfield at U.S. Cellular Field™. (CWS)

Unlike the other Home Run trophies before it, this one will require a ball pulled down the right field line and even then, just barely over the fence. That's where you will find this Sports Grill. It's easiest achieved with a power hitting left-hander.

Fish off a Barrel
Hit the aquarium behind home plate at Marlins Park™. (MIA)

This is the most unique locational trophy in The Show series. Unlike all the other ones from this game and previous years, the object you need to hit is behind home plate. As such, playing this in the Home Run Derby is not the best method.

You will locate these to the left and right of the backstop right behind home plate. It requires you to hit a foul ball back to reach this. This is one of those trophies where you should just play naturally and it should eventually come on it's own. Increasing the Foul Frequency slider will increase the number of fouls on borderline swings.

On The Beach
Hit a home run into the sand area in Petco Park. (SD)

A well hidden "beach" is located in right center field between the blue batter's eye wall and the blue Padre's sign in right field in front of the bleachers.

You're The Man!
Reach 500 XP in online play.

This will take between 20-50 games. Depending on how many you win. Just play ranked games and this will come. Each player puts a certain number of XP into a "pool". This number is dependent on rank. The ranks are:

  • Rookie 0 - 49 pts
  • Veteran 50 - 499 pts
  • All-Star 500 - 4999 pts, 20% win% or higher
  • Hall of Fame 5000 - 9999 pts, 50% win% or higher
  • Legend 10000+ pts, 75% win% or higher

The amount of XP added into the "pool" are:

  • Rookie - 10
  • Veteran - 20
  • All-Star - 30
  • Hall of Fame - 40
  • Legend -50

The winner receives 75% of the XP from the pool and the loser receives 25%. If you have two Rookie ranked players, the total amount of XP available is 20. With the winner receiving 15 and the loser 5.

Mr. 300
Reach 300 XP in online play.

See You're The Man!

After you edit them, make sure you save the roster. Just load that roster when you start up the game. You don't actually have to upload it.

Thank so so very much, Keep up the good work

Another quick noobish question is, can i create two teams on one save file or should i use two files?
If it is two files can I load them both up?

also when i load up my maxed out team and play exhibition they show a stat bar right before the game for ever player but they are not maxed out?

Kudos
Thank you for your patience. I am new to MLB the show series
