I'm confused bout Dog Tags and how they carry over to new difficulties?

Like if I get all Dog Tags on Very Easy for Tanker-Plant playthrough, how can I carry them over to next difficulty? If I start a new game it's goin be like I never collected them. Ya know what I'm saying? It's so confusing and it's causing me to freak out. I just bought the HD Collection and MGS 4 so in a total Noob. Any help on this question would be great. Thank you.

Once u beat the game and save it ur save file will change to a red color. This red color indicates that u cleared the game and when u load it u will have the option to start a new game with ur current stuff and tags. In essence kinda like a new game plus. Please don't make any more of these threads there have already been multiple threads asking the same question and its only flooding the whole MGS2 thread.

Basically, it's a whole different set of dog tags with each difficulty setting even thought almost every one is found at the same spot save a select few.

I have a question, i know in extreme there are more Dog Tags than very easy, easy, normal and hard. If i follow this video for all dificulties, i can get all the dog tags on that dificulties?

The thing is you don't need all the dog tags on the tanker. You should however get all if not most of the tags on the plant. The plant i would advise not missing any. In my 5 playthroughs of the plant i only missed 3 but i got the trophy so its not bad. Just take it easy and be careful. Once you know where the guards are and where their respawn are after certain events then you shouldn't have a problem with collection.

That is implying to the plant. The only time that you would need every single dog tag is if your version is 2001 on the dog tag viewer when you load your file data. My version was 2002 and i got the Great Dane Trophy by collecting all but 3 dog tags on the plant. You need a total of 218 for the plant and the Tanker you need 77 in total.
Don't let this get to you man it really isn't hard at all.

I dont understand that. Where i can see what is my version? And you tell me on Plant i can skip 3 dog tags?
I hate collectibles, and for this one we need to finish the game 5 times and see a lot of videos for all dog tags.

From the main menu, go to special, then dog tag viewer, load your file, pick the difficulty and you will see what version you have and i believe it is on the top right. Here is my video for 100% Hard mode Collection guide and i show the menu there at the end of the video:

Also im not saying you can miss 3 dog tags and b ok. Im saying the requirement for great dane is to get 218 dog tags for the last special item and then u will be awarded the trophy of Great Dane. It shows you what version you have on the top left.

I was just saying that i personally missed 3 dog tags and still got it. There are i believe 243 dog tags in the plant scenario.

i see someone on one of your videos saying the 2002 version you have to collect less dog tags, its a big diference. And you say we need 218 dog tags, but are 243. So, i can miss a lot of dog tags, rigth? But on your stats you habe 100%.
