Oh, wow. I've been to the New River Gorge Bridge plenty of times (usually taking photos to use for direct mail pieces), and always wondered if people actually rafted that section. Neat to know they do.

I forget exactly which charter group we used for the 2-day Gauley trip (Pretty sure it was Ace), but it was fairly expensive (in the neighborhood of $250 back in 2004) and the people running it were pros. Check this run out. I'm getting withdrawals just looking at it. The Lower Gauley is good training ground for advanced tactics, but the Upper is definitely where all the fun is at.

I did a weekend trip on the Upper/Lower Gauley. I lived slightly on the north side of town, within walking distance from our office on 110 Capitol St. and the mall. Even did the Charleston 5K that year. You guys are drowning in worker's compensation debt, but it's a great state otherwise. Really enjoyed my time there.

Whereabouts in WV are you? I worked in virtually every corner of that state during the 2004 and 2006 elections. Lived in Charleston and had satellite offices in Wheeling, Parkersburg and Clarksburg. You guys have some great whitewater rafting.
