Well originally they looked exactly the same, and were even produced in the same factory. The names were probably named different in order to make sure the military wasn't accidentally shipped a couple of the wrong versions.

You have a twat with a nice car who thinks he's special too? We have a (not really a) neighbor who has a Pontiac which does look nice I must admit, but he treats it like the manifestation of christ. Every time we see him, we promptly remind him what Pontiac means:
"Poor old ni**er thinks its a Cadillac"

    Ha. That's funny.

Oh, and to clarify between Humvees and Hummers:
Humvee: Military version, full armor, and everything. The Humvees in Battlefield 3 are "Humvees"
Hummer: Civilian version, unarmored, just made to look like a Humvee. No where close to the power and capability, and are, in fact, just to compensate for small penises.

Oh, American cars can be just as bad.

Ford's tend to die, hence the acronym: Find On Road Dead

GMC's will run forever, but the paint jobs are horrible and flake away
extremely fast. Not really a huge issue though.

Chrysler are just well.... Here's a joke:
Q: Why are the latest Chryslers so aerodynamically designed?
A: It improves the Chevy tow truck's fuel consumption.

Cars that are taken care of, even from the 60's can still look great. They had more design to them back then, not the blorbs most cars look like these days. You probably don't see many Hummers in the UK because they were never very popular outside america due to their piss poor gas mileage (even in the smaller, more feminine versions), and the fact they don't even make civilian versions anymore. I only like the original Hummers because they looked exactly like a Humvee, but they only lasted for so long before they changed them and they began to look more and more like a big Scion.

Not to mention that yellow. WHY ARE HUMMERS ALWAYS PISS YELLOW.

I've seen exactly 2 Landrovers here in the states. Both of them were dead on the side of the road.

Jeeps aren't really "military" these days. You can get military style jeeps still, but they'll be older more reliable jeeps, and cost an arm, a leg, 1.5 kidneys, and 2 testicles. New jeeps just carry the "Jeep" name, but they aren't the same. They went the way of Hummers. They went from cool, military style vehicles, to stupid "Hey it looks kinda like the real deal, just with no balls"

Ha. Well land rover's aren't too bad. They're just a wanna be Jeep.

Prices for things are absurd in your country though.

TBH, my dream car is actually a Monte Carlo like this:

Well, being 16 means insurance will cost about the same as militarizing an African country for me, so it'll be registered onto my parents insurance for a couple years most likely. On their plan with all our other cars and other insurance, it's not going to be too bad. Probably an extra 40-50$ per year total. Of course we only carry liability. We enjoy having all our limbs, and full coverage will probably cost all of them.

I saw nothing wrong with your initial comment, I expect people to wonder where I keep getting nice things recently. I know my new car is a gas hog (not that I care, the environment can go fuck itself) and I've already made a few friends jelly. So I'm sure my grandfather would approve.

The tires need a little air (as it has been sitting for quite some time as I explained) and I need to touch up the paint (Chevy paint jobs always flake away) I'm gonna put a kick ass racing stripe right down the middle.

My parents chose all of my siblings first cars (except my brother) to be reliable, and last us for a while. My oldest sister got a Beretta, but she ended up never getting her license, and my other sister has a Blazer. My brother on the other hand insisted on his little Japanese Rice Burner cars, and he's gone through 4 or 5 cars already.

    Just for reference:

I knew my parents had been planning to get me a car for a while, and they saw the Camaro while they were out shopping, and it turned out the mayor of our town owned it. He just wanted it gone, as he barely drove it being ex-military (70,000 original miles). So we got it for only $1,000.

As for our recent getting of new furniture and televisions, thats because when my grandfather passed, we received a rather decent inheritance that we are using to basically upgrade all of old heavy tv's and ratty furniture so it will be easier for us when we move out of our rental and into a new house.

No worries mate, thanks for letting me know. The gaming nights usually last for a good few hours anyway.
