About once a week I get hate mail accusing me of cheating or not having a life, though a couple of those had to do with my Viper ACR preorder (which gave me access to the maxed-out version right away, instead of stock at level 27). If you're listening in on the chatter in the room while tearing people apart, you're bound to get a lot of off-the-cuff smack talk. I don't even listen to my racing audio anymore... I just crank up my own music and play silent. More often than not I've settled things with people through PMs. The lone exception was FAS_NYC, who got so mad that he spammed me repeatedly with PMs before dedicating his entire races to grabbing shocks, letting me lap him, and attacking as I went by. (I've had at least two other high level players bring him up specifically too.)
Not while I went on generally. I have been doing more of the powered up stuff for the last few weeks attempting to get a few more speed boosts on class C and D cars. Have you gotten a lot of hate mail from people that claim to be better than you but they are just having a bad day... then that you suck and are a noob (which I'm guessing is a new slang put down of some sort)? It's kind of sad how people base their egos on whether they win or lose.
Do you see Tdawwg33 often in hardcore racing? He's a level 50 camper as well, with some great racing lines. Too good to be a generic powerup racing player. Been running into him pretty often lately. Good competition.
The speed boost increases the acceleration and top speed fairly significantly. The CCX-R is the fastest for most non-off road tracks simply due to the cornering ability, although Shannon's is almost exactly the same. There is one track that the viper is the best for in hardcore due to its amazing top speed. For B class the M3 is definitely fast, but the Challenger and Golf are faster on a couple of non-off road tracks. Since there are only two off road tracks on Hardcore, the truck definitely works the best on either of those (found that out thanks to you beating my record with one!).
Since you've probably got a better barometer in the hardcore racing rooms... have you any idea exactly what kind of difference the speed upgrade does to cars? Also, I was talking to someone today about whether the CCX-R is actually the fastest in Class A or not. I know it used to be, during the beta... but at one point the devs nerfed it.
The M3 E92 (Drift), on the other hand... holy hell is that thing unbalanced. Should probably belong in Class A.
Dude, seriously... WITH a missed watch? Wow, unless you're exploiting the airbrake nitros more than I am, I honestly have no idea where those extra six seconds are coming from. That first hard-left corner into the tunnel is a make-or-break spot, along with the wide gradual right turn following it. Then there's the magical jump pad right after the final watch that nets a nice couple seconds, but everything else seems fairly straightforward.
