FYI, i give in on the vowel thing. i still dont see why a consonant sounding a bit like a vowel makes it partially a vowel as i was always taught that vowels were there to separate the consonant, and you can't have words without vowels.

however according to multiple websites it has nothing to do with that and it is acually how the sound of the letter changes. if it changes a lot then it is a vowel. if it only changes in regards to the letter before or after it (not both) then it is a semi vowel and if it doesnt change at all then it is a consonant.
