Will try get the GOTY edition as its only about €18 now

It doesn't matter which version of FO3 you get, they all freeze like mad after a while, usually once your saves reach 10mb. You can mitigate some of the freezing by following the advice in the stuck guides and Advice thread but ultimately there is very little you can do about it. The core reason for the freezing is the ancient engine Bethesda makes all their games with as it leaks memory like a sieve.
