As far as I know, the PS3 should be getting cross game chat as soon as the PSN's back up. It'll require us to install firmware update 3.61 when we try to sign in, and its supposed to come with that.

I found this by searching up "cross game chat ps3 firmware 3.61" and reading some of the articles that popped up. Just in case you wanted to know where I got this from.
