I might sound like an egoist, but it actually does annoy me when people say they're all fan over f3/fnv when they don't even know who Cassidy is or Marcus. xD
Sure he explains about Broken Hills and the tribal, but you have to have experienced it to get the full out of the game and enjoy it more.
I just think you just HAVE to have played Fallout 1 OR 2, (2 is more important, aside from The Unity/Master references), but that's my opinion. Those games are pretty old.
I wouldn't play MGS4 without having played 1, 2, or 3, which I know tonnes of people did.
