thanks cruore, just ordered my hauppauge and 4 2tb external hdd's, will be using it to record off the sky box aswell a lot so it will pay for itself just doing that, cheers

hey i notice you use hauppauge, im thinking of getting one very soon, could you answer a few questions for me?

1. how much space does the video at top quality take up, ie how many megabytes per minute.

2. does the hauppauge itself make any noise and does it get hot?

3. my proposed cabling method is official sony component av cable(hdmi one end, green, blue, red, white, red at the other) from the ps3 into the hauppauge then another one of those cables from the hauppauge into the hdmi on my tv, will that be ok?

4. using that cabling method will it do or atleast display on my tv at 1080p not 1080i?

Hey good buddy. How are ya? Yeah this PSN being down has really been a bugger. I've went back to some games I've owned for a while and finished the platinums like inFamous, WET, Prince of Persia (the first one), Cabelas Big Game Hunter, Gran Turismo 5<-- of course that one really made me proud. Not for the sake of just having the trophies, but for being able to beat some of those events. It took a LOT of practice! Well I am back to work now so the PSN being down isn't bugging me as much, besides the fact I've had KZ3 rented for the whole time PSN has been down, all I need to do is the online trophies to win the platinum so it has sort of been a waste of money. But hey what can ya do? Go with the flow and hope for the best!

P.S. No I don't have an Xbox.
