Need help with machete guy and question

At the end of chapter 9 you have to R2 L2 triangle and ex a guy. Ive had trouble every playthrough and now im starting at beginning of chapter. What exactly can we do. Spam the button or single click? timing? Ive never done this first time and always seems like luck.

Also why do we get experience for the single player grinds? It doesnt add to multiplayer.

I saw a comment saying at the end of an old school or harcore playthrough you could reload chapter and change difficulty to get both trophies. I completed old school earlier and dont think you can do this.

just NYM, NYMHD, Hardcore to go.

We can do NYM and Hardcore at the same time? Im already at chapter 9 on NYM.

You have to press the buttons for one time when they are highlighted on the screen. Don't spam them!!!

You have to play the story and NYM. I'm not sure about that chapter select thing. NYM has nothing to do with the singleplayer. You also have to complete it, to unlock NYM: HC!

i spam the button after i believe after u block the first swing...the boat is crazy hard lol i dont get it....i die everytime

Weird. I only tried once and got it. It was just like any other quick-time event sequence except now it had three buttons instead of two (when disarming enemies).

More people than expected seem to have issues with that part. I only failed it at the first try, because I thought R2 would be the final input and pressed it instead of what was shown on screen. Second try, no problem. Is the timing really that strict?
