As I was reading this again it made me wonder if there is just some problems with Mass Effect series. I've been playing ME2 the past week and it has froze at least 5 times. Sorry to hear you lost all of that progress. Save often.

It's not our PS3's, though. It's the game that's making them freeze.

Only one other game had made my PS3 freeze like this and that was Black Ops.

yep it's Mass Effect problem, i dont remember so much freezing since Fallout New Vegas; well fallout new vegas had way more but still mass effect has a lot of freezing

It seems this is the only game that makes my system freeze on a regular basis. I froze maybe twice in my 150+ hours of BF3, and I really can't think of another game that gave me trouble. The good news is that I managed to get Unwavering by doing all MP maps on Gold. Amazingly enough, four of the six were done with randoms. Right now I am about 2/3 of the way through my Insanity run focusing solely on priority missions. With my level 57 Engineer I am pretty much plowing through the game... aside from the Phantoms. Should have the Plat very soon.

I lost 4200 kills, and all my game saves when my kids created another PS account and decided to delete mine - woohooo, I already cried about it in another thread, so I am all done!

Yeah. I never ever got a frozen game on the MP. I've had to hard reset a couple of times with that stupid citadel elevator. And some other incident. Luckily, nothing reset... Hopefully, I can make it through Insanity without losing my data.

And yeah, there's another farming method mentioned in the trophy guide... it was near the end of the game, I believe.

In ME2 disconnect from Internet helps, not sure if the updates fixed the memory leak, use to need to reboot game every 1-2 hours of play. Also in ME2 do not auto connect to EA servers regardless of Internet on or off.

The fact that ME uses unreal engine has a lot to do with it especially on PS3
