If you're happy with all that then please, carry on calling everyone who disagrees with you whiners for wanting this car crash of an ending greatly improved upon. It seems, thankfully, Bioware disagrees with you.

I agree that I would like to know what happens to the races after everything goes down, and that I would like some expansion on the ending, but saying that this has never been eluded to until the very end is just wrong and unimaginative.

Read the spoiler in my above post. This has been BioWare's plan all along.

And BioWare doesn't disagree with us. Even Ray Myzuka stands by the game and the ending. But since so many have made such a ruckous about it, they're going to try and give you guys what you want.

But they don't disagree with us.

To those who liked the ending, have you thought of the repercussions of the ending?

All of the Mass Relays are destroyed. That means that all of the fleets at Earth are cut off from their home worlds. Lets start with the Krogan. Without Wrex to unite them, the Krogan on Tuchanka will likely resort back to their barbaric ways before being brought up to fight the Rachni. If you chose not to cure the Genophage, they will be extinct in the very near future. If you did cure it, then they will continue to breed like mad. Tuchanka, which is essentially a wasteland now, does not have enough resources to support all of these Krogan, and with no space travel, their world will be depleted and they will eventually die out as well. Now lets look at the Turians. A massive fleet was at Earth for the final battle. We know based on in game lore that the Turians cannot eat human food. The likely have some food reserves on their ships, but without space travel, once that supply is gone, the entire Turian Fleet will starve to death on Earth. That was a HUGE number of them. The rest of them (if any are actually left on Palaven) are trapped there, on a planet in no better shape than Earth is. Now the Quarians. We just put so much effort into helping them retake Rannoch. Since the ENTIRE Quarian fleet, flotilla included, were at the battle for Earth, none of them will ever see Rannoch again. And much like the Turians, they cannot eat human food. They too will eventually go through their food supplies and starve. Provided any Quarians stayed on Rannoch, they might be okay, but the majority of them were in the battle. Lets take a look at your crew. Stranded on some random ass planet far away from any contact due to the relays being destroyed. Lets get the obvious out of the way, Garrus and Tali will quickly starve. Leaving Joker, James, Liara, Ashley/Kaidan, and possibly EDI left alive. (And Javik if you have the DLC). Lets assume that they are the only people here, which seems pretty obvious since the planet is still jungle-y and not destroyed (if there was life there, the Reapers would have shown up and destroyed most of the planet). With a total population of 5 people, the only way to sustain a population there, is massive inbreeding. And inbreeding, as we all know, causes genetic fuckups that will eventually lead to an entire planet of people like Sloth from the Goonies. If you chose the Control ending, you turned Shepard in to a massive hypocrite. Preaching to The Illusive Man about how it's impossible to control the Reapers, then you do. Shepard is now no better than him. If you chose Synthesis, you not only force a massive change upon the universe against their will, but you also effectively destroy the diversity that is so prevalent in the series. If you choose Destroy, you complete wipe an innocent race off of the face of the universe. Congrats, you turned Shepard into a war criminal.

Does this sound like a decent way to leave the galaxy? People call this a victory? I know I sure don't

And where did BioWare state they were giving us a happy ending?

Anyways, I do think the Indoctrination Theory is an interesting and feasible option. Mostly because I love Fight Club endings. But you have to be prepared for the very real possibility that it's false.

Wouldn't Shepard already be considered a war criminal? After all, he killed 300,000+ batarians in Arrival to delay the reaper's invasion.
