Maybe they don't like the underwear ad model that he is based on? But for a game like this, I never use the default character. I always take some time to make a character that fits the way I am going to play that character.

I always play as default manshep. I tried to play a Femshep once, but she sounded too manly and emotionless. She was significantly less badass as well. Idk, I guess I just would prefer her, as a woman, to be more... womanly...

Doubt its anything about being sexist.
To be fair Male Shepard looks cooler and more badass then Female Shepard does. And as most people know, ME1 and ME2 have always focused mostly on male shepard. Its only in ME3 where Fem Shep really have come out on the cover, and made a bigger intro.

^This. She sounds like a female trucker and this goes to Ashley as well. As a male, I'd rather roleplay as a male. Roleplaying as a female feels like cross-dressing.

Default male shep is the way to go...however my custom femshep trumps him. my fem sheps have always been the best. Voice acting is far superior.
