I have bought the game twice for $60, PS3 and 360, and am very happy about it but by doing a pricegrabber search I was able to find it for around $30.

This is one of those games that is worth every single penny you pay for it. 60 bucks?! Yes, for this game and i dont say that often. Ive gone thru Mass Effect maybe 7 times and Mass Effect 2 Ive gone thru 7 times now i believe. 5 times on the 360 and a few more on the PS3. I love trying out new characters and alternating choices. My last run through Im going to make all bad choices and do NO loyalty missions, NO upgrades LOL.

While this is a great game and probably one of the few worth the release price, I say just wait. I got mine for €30 about 2-3 months ago. Make sure you buy it new though, that way you get the very pricey (€15 I think) Cerberus downloadable pack for free with the game.

I've never played a RPG game before
but i want to try Mass effect 2
what are all the good things about ME2
i'm not too concerned about the story
i like games with good story MGS, RDR, uncharted 2,infamous etc
but i want a satisfying gameplay like shooting, taking cover, jumping, customization etc., (not only decision making)
and cool set-piece moment as well
so could someone help me on this

Mass Effect has an incredible story. Ive gone thru multiple times for both games. ME2 has great gameplay that was vastly improved over the original game. You obviously will shoot, take cover but you really dont jump, more like vault over cover. The decision making enhances the gameplay experience even though it is a central part of the game. This game is more than satisfying, especially with you get to the EPIC final mission. Awesome.

I am having the same question as the TC had. I'm not sure whether to wait for a price drop on this game and get inFamous 2 instead, or if I should just go ahead and get it.

If you buy online you should be able to find it for under 40 bucks. I'm torn between this and infamous 2 as well, but I think I'm gonna pick ME2 since everyone I know loves it. Plus, for me at least, there aren't many big titles coming out this summer so I'm hoping this will be an enjoyably long game.

Edit: I usually use amazon which had it for $39 a few days ago, stocked by GoHastings, but I guess they ran out of stock, and now it's listed as $54 I think. So it'll take a little searching.
