I'm about to start ME2 pretty soon and I've never played anything ME related whatsoever so I'm looking for input on figuring out what class to choose when starting on insanity mode. From skimming the trophy guide it seems that soldier and sentinel are the preferred choices, though others have told me that infiltrators are also a good choice. In order to make my final decision I was wondering which classes people felt were the most fun between soldiers, sentinels, and infiltrators when completing insanity mode. Thanks.

I've beaten the game 3 times on Insanity (Soldier, Infiltrator, and Engineer) and can say that I had the most fun as an Infiltrator. Playing as a Soldier is by far the easiest as the maxed out Adrenaline Rush and the Revenant Assault Rifle will tear through just about anything while soaking up some hits at the same time.
Playing as a Sentinel is for those people who aren't as familiar with the game or are unsure about their ability to get through the game with ease. The Sentinel loses a lot of fire power, although has some good offensive abilities to make up for the lack of weapons, but is highly touted because of the Tech Armor ability you get. When maxed, Tech Armor will allow you to soak up hits with ease making some of the bigger battles easier if you don't have a good strategy to get through them. As for Infiltrator, it is my favorite class and the most fun I have had over my 7 playthroughs. The maxed out Tactical Cloak, for damage bonuses while cloaked, and the Widow Anti Material Sniper Rifle do INSANE amounts of damage, most of any non-heavy weapon in the game, and allow you to rip through even heavy enemies with relative ease despite the low ammo clip. Get a little too close to the action and you can cloak and retreat to a safer spot to heal up. All have their pluses and minuses so choose what fits you best. I would recommend playing the game first on normal difficulty to get an idea of the layouts of the different missions to make Insanity less frustrating. This will also allow you to add a bonus power, warp ammo is widely considered to be the best all around bonus, for your Insanity mission right away as opposed to half way through the game to make things easier on you. You do have to unlock the Long Service Medal Trophy, via beating the game once with the comic, to be able to add the bonus power from the start. Also, Soldier and Infiltrator are the only 2 classes that can have a Sniper Rifle by the Horizon mission, for non-NG+. The Sniper Rifle can make the end battle of the Horizon mission infinitely less frustrating, for more details you can watch Lord Maim's walkthrough videos of that level on his Insanity Guide. |

I had the most fun as Soldier Girl played it 4 times including the insane run. (1 time as Soldier Boy just so I can meet Miranda and Jack
)Infiltrator with the sniper and cloak is lotsa fun Currently working on completing the other classes, just so I have saves for each

I have a new copy of ME2 so I'll have access to the comic book - this would unlock warm ammo right away, correct?

I'd have to agree with TIMBO, Vanguard is by far the most fun class on Insanity. But it can also be the most frustrating
.From the 3 you've listed, as much as I like the Infiltrator, I'm going to go with the Sentinel. Tech Armor is awesome, especially when you go with the Assault Armor path, you can literally walk into a firefight and walk out unscathed. Plus the knockdown/stagger effect when you armor explodes is just icing on the cake. Quote:
You actually have to complete Jack's loyalty mission to have access to Warp Ammo. But doing it once, unlocks it for subsequent playthroughs and characters. |

Thanks for all the input. I decided to do veteran with the vanguard and then insanity with the infiltrator. I assume the vanguard will be just as fun on the lower difficulty setting. Hopefully I don't regret my decision to do 2 playthroughs as opposed to just a single insanity run but it seems this game has good replay value from what I've read.
