I am afraid I cannot answer your question but I do have a comment.

I am now level 23 and have manged to be squad leader a handful of times. Each time, someone tries to have me kicked. I have only been leader on Sabotage maps so far and I try to do the best I can with the limited abilities. In fact, I think I do more than most. So, what am I doing wrong that makes people want to kick me? Or, is it just that people are dinks and want the job for themselves all the time?

Yea, thats it....they want the job.....all i want is 5 kills then i could care less about being leader....half the time the leaders dont know what their doing and half the time i get more points then them anyways lol

You need to draw a line between attackers and defenders.

The easiest way to get this trophy would be as attacker on domination as platoon leader (warthogs for the win!) - but when you have enough leadership points to be the platoon leader should you already got the trophy, so... forget about the easy way and let's talk about the hard way.

So that leads us to the defender site and the squad leader. You need to match two (three) requirements to get this trophy pretty fast. I personally would prefer Acquisition for this one but it of course does work on domination to so this is up to you.
1.) you need to know the main attack ways the enemy is using. When you learned the maps will you know the ways and also know if there are some great places like a small opening in a wall the attackers have to pass - and these places should be the target for your mortars cause the enemy is close together there.
2.) you need to know/learn when both sites are spawning. I think it's the same for domination, but I never looked at it.. but for Acquisition is the spawn difference 20 seconds which means that the defenders do spawn 20 seconds before the attackers. And on this knowledge to you need to time your mortars.

You are at Valor right now *thinks* a good place I just have in mind is the Valor Acquisition map on the site where the attackers get the helicopters. Just in front of the most right bunker is a house (I think it was a house) in the swamp the attackers often use for cover while shooting the bunker turret and sniping - a good timed mortar and you have 5+ kills since some enemies do use an attack way leading next to this house as well. Also do many people attack a bit far right of this position where are two ships (leading to a ramp followed by a supply chest from which they can attack the bunker from the site). A good timed mortar (and a few idiots don't caring about the smoke) somewhere around the ships would work as well.
But however, you always have to need an eye on the map before ordering the strike (ordering via the map accesable via "select" is also way easier then ordering via the steering cross on the controller) - if you don't look for blue dots may it happen again that you are killing more of them then red dots or maybe only blue dots again.

And yes, if a squad leader get votes right in the beginning is it mostly because an idiot want to be the squad leader for themselfs - but mostly just a single vote. Just ignore it.
However, if they start to vote against the squad leader during a match (and then mostly more then only one vote) is it most likely because he isn't giving orders or giving orders some people don't like. And I don't speak about spoken orders but the placed FRAGO'ed orders.
I had a situation a few times where the squad leader FRAGO'ed the AAA to defend or the mortars in the backlands to repair (which both is understandable) and the one sitting in the bunker turret started to vote because he haven't got doubled points for his kills *shakes head* Or another time on domination had a defending squad leader FRAGO'ed a car the whole time and were driving around the map overriding enemy players *shakes head again*
That's just egoisitc but there are people like this as well...

Being the squad leader is a hard job. You need to care about more then just playing and people like that only make the job harder for you.

I think I just got lucky with this one becuase I got it on Acquisition. I was playing around trying to figure out how to do it and the when I finally dropped the bomb my trophy popped As far as tips though, like the aforementioned post try to find a large group of people and drop it on the group. I have seen a lot of people get an airstrike right outside of the spawn area on Domination. I'm sure that is almost a no-fail way to get it. Every time that happens I'm usually right in the middle of the barrage. Either way this trophy is kinda hit or miss.

And Starks, the leader kick thing is usually because they either want to be leader or they don't like what you are doing. Like last night when you and I were playing and they kept trying to kick you. There really wasn't any reason to be kicking you. yea, you may of not had a 10 killstreak but no one on our team was doing great. hahaha. Too bad or we may have stood a chance.

Wait for satillete sweeps as a defender and call in a mortor barrage. I always pick up 5+ kills as a defender from bombing the LZ of paratroopers after the AAA is down and we're defending the letters. So easy to pick up a TON of kills that way from a mortor as you're hitting the enemies before they have control of their character (as their coming down from the plane).

As for cluster bomb/strafing on attacking. If the AAA goes down when there are bunkers up and letters are not open call in your bomber on the AAA and it will likely pick up 5+ kills easy as many ppl rush to repair/defend the repair men on the AAA.

Another super easy way is to call in the bomber behind the lettered objectives in the small space that the defenders run from their spawn to the letters. I have over 800 hours and this always picks me up lots of kills.
