Introduction

Are you ready for some football? If you are, then welcome to EA Sports latest edition of NFL Madden 12. Madden 12 features vast improvements to franchise mode, broadcast presentation, visuals, and player animations to give you the fans the most realistic experience. A new focus this year in Madden is Madden Ultimate Team, where you can build your very own dream team of current and past NFL superstars using coins that you earn by playing the game. Whether you want to take on the CPU or challenge the online world to a game of football, Madden is the only game to play. Let's hit the gridiron and play some football! Following the road map and guide below should help you to a Madden NFL 12 Master

Roadmap

Step 1:
To make getting the in-game trophies easiest, you will want to create the worst possible team by going from My Madden > Creation Zone > Create New Team. When creating your team, you will want to select and Edit Team Data and hit till you are at Team Type Editor and select Fantasy Team as this will take you into a fantasy draft. In the fantasy draft , you will want to select the overall worst player for every position by first hitting over OVR. Fill every position to its max till the game tells you you cannot draft any more players. Save your team as team name, stadium, and uniforms do not matter.

Step 2:

If you do not want to go and edit/trade all the players listed below, then you can skip ahead to Step 3. The team you will be using is the Madden NFL 12 Developers team, where most players have a 99 overall rating, but be warned that you may need to play extra games to get Peyton Hillis Award, Jahvid Best Award, and Put Da Team On My Back. You select the Madden NFL 12 Developers team by going to Play Now, and then keep randomly selecting a team by pressing , until they show up

Time to do some trading. From the main menu head to My Madden > NFL Rosters> Trade Players. From the trade players screen you will want to trade the players listed below to the Philadelphia Eagles. Remember to save after you finish trading.

After completing your trade, from the main menu go My Madden > NFL Rosters > Player Management and edit the following players to over all 99's if you feel you MAY struggle on Rookie difficulty. If you feel you WILL NOT struggle on Rookie difficulty, then you do not need to edit the following players. Do NOT forget to save your roster.

Step 3:
From Madden> My settings> Settings adjust sliders for Player Skill to 100 and CPU Skill to 0. Adjust Special Teams to 100 and Penalties to 0. Hit to save your settings.

Step 4:
Time to play some football. From the main menu go from Play Now > Exhibition. Hit to load your horrible created team. Select your loaded Philadelphia Eagles (or Madden NFL 12 Developers team) to play your created team. You can choose to either use two controllers or not. Before you go to the game settings screen, hit to change skill level rookie, then at the game settings screen change the following listed below

Play Calling : Conventional
Quarter Length: 10-15 minutes
Accel Clock: Off

Now go ahead play, and when the game is over you should have the following trophies: Put Da Team On My Back, Leon Washington Award, Reggie Wayne Award, Matt Schaub Award, Oakland Raiders Award, Arian Foster Award, Dan Carpenter Award, DeAngelo Hall Award, Adrian Peterson Award, Kenny Britt Award, Mario Manningham Award, Rob Gronkowski Award, New York Giants Award, Darren McFadden Award, Michael Vick Award, DeSean Jackson Award, Tim Tebow Award, Peyton Hillis Award, Tom Brady Award, Jahvid Best Award, Verizon Scoreboard Overload, and New York Jets Award.

Step 5:
Time to play some football again as this is clean up time for in-game trophies, but you may need to play with a friend or by yourself with a second controller to go after the following trophies: David Bowens Award, Bryan McCann Award, Leon Washington Award, DeSean Jackson Award, Santonio Holmes Award, San Diego Chargers Award, and DeAngelo Hall Award.

Step 6:
Time to hit up the not so new feature in Madden with Madden Ultimate Team (MUT). In MUT, you will be given a starter pack and your goal here is to play games and earn coins. Coins are used to purchase new packs of cards that will give you new players, contracts, playbooks, stadiums, uniforms and coaches. The goal here is to play 20 games and have a MUT team rated 80 overall to earn the following trophies: This One is Easy, This One is Hard, Wheel and Deal, Ultimate Veteran, and MUT Maniac.

Step 7:
Finally, time hit the game modes. First one you want to tackle is from the main menu go Game Modes> Be an NFL Superstar>New NFL Superstar. Here you want to create your own new NFL Superstar and play in practice nabbing you The Next Big Thing, and We're Talking About Practice. Last game mode you want to tackle is Franchise. In franchise you will want to set all options to user to get Hey, Can I Talk to You?, and sim the season to hit the offseason so you can win a Free Agency bidding war to get Winning.

Trophy Guide

Franchise Mode

Hey, Can I Talk to You?
User complete one season's final cut day in Franchise Mode
*Unlocks after requirements are met for all of pre-season.*

It does not matter what team you choose. When at the Franchise setup screen, make sure you change the following settings listed below:

Salary Cap: Off
Update Depth Chart: User
Re-Sign Players: User
Free Agent Bidding: User
Sign Draft Picks: User
Fill Roster: User
Sim Cut Days: User
Sim Scouting: User

After each preseason game (you can choose to play or not play preseason games), you are given the option to sim the week or sim all preseason. Select sim the week, and the game will ask you to let the CPU cut players or take you to the Cut Players screen. Choose Cut Players Screen, and cut the required amount of players as indicated in the upper right hand corner. Rinse and repeat for each week of the preseason. NEVER select to sim the entire preseason. When the preseason is over and you made the last cut you will get the trophy.


Winning
Win a FA bidding in Franchise Mode
*Unlocks after requirements are met.*

Use the same settings as listed in Hey, Can I Talk to You? You do not need to play the preseason/regular season, so select to sim the entire season, postseason and probowl.

In the offseason of your franchise, one of your tasks as GM is to bring in new players via Free Agency. Unlike other years, this year there is a timer attached to each player after the first bid is made to the player. Continue to press to increase your offer to the player as other teams will join in on the bidding. When the timer runs out, and if you made the last bid, then you have won the bidding war for that player and unlocked Winning.


Become a NFL Superstar Mode


The Next Big Thing
Create an NFL Superstar
*Unlocks after requirements are met.*

From the main menu Game Modes> Be an NFL Superstar>New NFL Superstar. Select Create Superstar; if you pick a current NFL Rookie then the trophy will not unlock. Best to make your Superstar a QB. When you are finished creating your superstar and have entered the NFL Draft and been drafted the trophy will unlock.


We're Talking About Practice
Complete a practice in Superstar Mode
*Unlocks after practice is completed.*

After your created superstar has drafted, you are taken to the Superstar Hub. In Superstar HUB, select Training Camp. In training camp, select the first open training camp of the preseason. Do NOT sim the event as you MUST play the event. When practice is over after 10 reps, you will have unlocked the trophy.


Madden Ultimate Team (MUT)


This One is Easy
Create a MUT team
*Unlocks after team is created.*

From the Main Menu select Ultimate Team. Here you will create your own ultimate team. You can choose any team name you want as long as it is not taken already. The game gives you a starter pack of cards with most cards having a contract of 25 games.

***If you have a previous MUT Team from another version of Madden, then you are not able to create a new one. The game imports your old MUT team, and thus making the trophy unattainable. To avoid the glitch, you MUST download patch 1.02.***


Wheel and Deal
Make a MUT Trade
*Unlocks after trade is completed and processed.*

You are NOT able to trade away any of you starter cards. After you have played a few games you should have enough coins to by a Bronze pack, which is worth 1,000 coins. After opening your Bronze pack, select one of you new cards to be put on the trade block. The trade conditions should be set to ANY to make a trade happen easier. Then just wait till someone offers you a trade or you can boost it by clicking here. On your MUT homepage, it will let you know when an offer has been made and then just agree to the trade and the trophy is yours.


Ultimate Veteran
Complete 10 MUT Games

The quick and easy method is to play against the CPU with quarter length set to 1 minute and on rookie difficulty. Play and complete the game. Do this 20 times and the trophy is yours.

You should not have to worry about player cards expiring on you, if you play all 20 games using your starter card set.

Other users have unlocked this trophy by using the methods listed below:

If you supersim your MUT games, remember to earn Ultimate Veteran your next game (game 11) you need to play a full game. After game 11, you can supersim to the 20th game, but to earn MUT Maniac your next game (game 21) you need to play a full game.

This One is Hard
Build an 80 rated MUT team

You can go about this trophy many different ways as listed below to earn coins to buy packs. Best bet is get enough coins to buy about 2-3 Gold packs, and you should have an 80+ overall team.

• By hitting to add coins via the PlayStation Store. If you have the EA Season Pass, then it is 20% off each different coin package.
• By playing online either head to head or in MUT tournaments to earn coins.
• By playing against the CPU with 5 minute quarters and All-Pro difficulty to earn coins. Lowering the difficulty and quarter length will earn you less coins.
• Trade cards by boosting by clicking here.

Pass for 497+ yards in one game with one player (No OTP or co-op)

If you are using the loaded Eagles team on rookie difficulty, then this will be no problem. First off, at the start of the game if you do not win the coin toss, then quit and restart the game. Make sure you win the coin toss and run the kickoff out of bounds at your own 1 yard line. Select a Hail Mary play and launch a pass to Greg Jennings (if you maxed him out, then he should have no problems out running any defenders) who should be able to take it to the house earning you the Put Da Team On My Back and the Mario Manningham Award trophies.

Now, you will want to continue to run Hail Mary plays with Greg Jennings as your target at least 13 more times to grab the Reggie Wayne Award. By running multiple Hail Mary plays with Greg Jennings, you should easily earn over 225+ yards of receiving to earn the Kenny Britt Award.

If you're still in need of yards, or just want to get the Rob Gronkowski Award, select a passing play, and hit > select Brent Celek > for streak. With a maxed out Celek on rookie difficulty, you should have no problems in racking up yards and getting at least 3 touchdowns with him.

By the end of the game you should have way over 497+ yards of passing. If you missed only a few passes to your receivers and had no interceptions, then you should have got a 149+ passer rating earning you the Tom Brady Award.

Oakland Raiders Award
Win by 45 points or more (No OTP or co-op)

Arian Foster Award
Rush for 231+ yards in a game with one player (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks after game ends.*

You will want to use Peyton Hillis for this trophy. If you used a maxed out Hillis along with playing on rookie difficulty, then you should be able to get this quickly. Using Hillis on the loaded Eagles, you will want to select any HB running play. Over the course of a half you should have 231+ yards to earn both the Arian Foster Award and the Peyton Hillis Award. In gaining 231+ yards rushing you should have scored at least 4 rushing touchdown with Hillis to also get the Darren McFadden Award.

Dan Carpenter Award
Kick a 60+ yard FG (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks in-game after requirements are met.*

Using your maxed out kicker on rookie difficulty, you need get to your opponent’s 43-45 yard line. Try and down yourself in between the hash marks, so your kicker has a direct kick in between the goal posts.

Line up your kick and aim for 100% power along with pushing in the middle of the accuracy section. Using rookie difficulty and having special teams settings set to 100 should easily nab you a 60+field goal.


Adrian Peterson Award
Score on an 80+ yard TD run (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks in-game after requirements are met.*

Using two controllers, you want to have the opponent team to select the punt block formation, and user team to run the HB-stretch. Have the punt returner move up to the line and using Peyton Hillis you should have no problem running to the endzone. You must line up at your own 20 yard line or less, then use the play to run off an 80+touchdown run nabbing you the Adrian Peterson Award.


Kenny Britt Award
Gain 225+ yards receiving with one player (No OTP or co-op)

Mario Manningham Award
Catch a 92+ yard TD pass (No OTP or co-op)

Santonio Holmes Award
Catch a game winning TD pass in OT (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks after game ends.*

Make sure you have your game set to 1 minute quarters and accel play clock to yes with 10 seconds remaining on the play clock before you start. Play on rookie difficulty, and whenever you have the ball run a QB kneel to run out the clock. On defense, if offsides are set to 0, then sack the QB each time. If offsides are not set to 0, then blitz the QB. At the end of regulation you need be tied to force Overtime.

If you lose the coin toss, then just blitz the QB to get the ball back. When you are on offense, run a Hail Mary play and maybe after at try or two you will have scored a game winning touchdown with a pass play.

Catch 3+ TD passes with a TE in a game (No OTP or co-op)

Using a maxed out Michael Vick, you can either run all option plays with him or run him off set passing plays by pressing . Over time on rookie difficulty and game settings in your favor, you should rack up 130+ yards in no time.

At some point, you will want to get a 40 yard touchdown run. You want to be at least at your opponents 40 yard line. Best option for this a curl route play. Do NOT pass the ball and instead hit and run with Vick to either side and gain 40 or more yards for the touchdown to get the Tim Tebow Award. You can also use two controllers and just move defenders out of your way.


DeSean Jackson Award
Return a punt for a TD (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks in-game after requirements are met.*

If you are playing against your horrible created team with your maxed out Eagles team and game settings in your favor, then this is quite easy.

Since you are faster than the other team you should no problems out running the other team or stiff arming them with

With two controllers have your opponent press to either hit to dive or use the to move the defender away from you; making the return much easier.

If you are having a hard time switching between the two controllers you can use the following trick below that will also help with the Leon Washington Award.

Use a rubberband on the of controller 2 to make all players go right , then just alternate with and to make them dive and move out of my way as I ran left up the sideline towards the endzone.

While going for the Matt Schaub Award, you will at some point want to insert Jahvid Best into the lineup as the new RB. Select a passing play, and hit > select Jahvid Best > for streak. With a maxed out Best on rookie difficulty and game settings in your favor, you should have no problems in racking up yards.


Verizon Scoreboard Overload
Score 50 points in one game (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks after game ends.*

Playing against your horrible created team should make scoring 50 points quite easy along with outscoring your opponent by 45 points. If you are going for the Matt Schaub Award, then this will come naturally. If you need to some quick scores, then any Hail Mary play will work. At the end of the game you should have earned Verizon Scoreboard Overload, Happy 20th EA SPORTS!, and the Oakland Raiders Award.

San Diego Chargers Award
Hold your opponent to under 67 yds of total offense (minimum 5 min. qtr., no OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks after game ends.*

Play against your horrible created team along with offisides set to 0. Before each snap, line up a defender near the quarterback. After the snap, just use the and sack the quarterback. By the end of the game, your opponent might a have a few yards of offense, but nowhere near 67 yards.


New York Giants Award
Record 10+ sacks as a team in one game (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks after game ends.*

If you followed the road map, then you should already have offsides set to 0. Before each snap, line up a defender near the quarterback. After the snap, just use the and sack the quarterback. Do this 10 times and the trophy is yours.


Bryan McCann Award
Return an interception 100+ yards (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks in-game after requirements are met.*

Best to do with two controllers. Have your opponent be 10 yards from the endzone. This means your opponent is on your 10 yard line. Have your opponent run a curl route, and as soon as your opponent snaps the ball quickly press the button to the corresponding receiver for a lob pass. Whenever the ball is in your area press and then press to intercept the ball. You should use either a Cover 2 or Cover 6. With your maxed out Eagles cornerbacks, they will intercept the ball most of the time. Your opponent should help you by pressing and then either to dive or to move players out of your way to the endzone.

You can also, try the following method below.

This is what I did to get INTs once out of every 3 or so passes:

• Adjust the Panthers' roster and take the all of the quarterbacks' skill levels in PASSING ACCURACY to zero (leave the other stats alone). Now, every skill players' SPEED, ROUTE RUNNING, CATCHING and AGILITY to zero. You can leave the O-Line's stats alone. The reason you want to adjust the players' speed ratings is so they won't catch up with you and tackle you so easily once you make the pick. You don't want to gimp the QB too much so he won't get sacked on every play for being too slow.
• Now take your teams' defensive backfield (cornerbacks and safeties) and all of the linebackers and adjust their SPEED, COVERAGES and CATCHING to 100.

In the game, the use the Panthers' GUN playbook and select that curl route with the button. For your team on defense, run either a NICKEL or DIME package and run ZONE 2 or 3 for your play. Have the Panthers throw to the receiver on every play. For the selected player, just be a defensive tackle or something. You'll see that about 4-5 of your guys will be around the ball once it floats into that general area. When your team is on offense, just try a 90+ yard field goal to get the ball inside your own 10-yard line for the 100-yard INT attempt.

I did this setup and, in one five-minute quarter, I had all of the interception trophies.

New York Jets Award
Gain over 100+ yards rushing with 2 RBs in the same game (No OTP or co-op)

When going for the Arian Foster Award with Peyton Hillis, you will at some point want to sub in Jahvid Best and gain 100 yards with him. Just run any running play with Best. If you are using your loaded Eagles team, then Best and Hillis are on your roster.

If you are using another team, then run nothing but running plays for your starter. When the starter hits 100 yards, sub your starter out for the backup, and with your backup run nothing but running plays again to get him 100 yards.


Put Da Team On My Back
Catch a 99 yard TD pass with Greg Jennings (No OTP or co-op)

Leon Washington Award
Return 2+ kicks for touchdowns in one game with one player (No OTP or co-op)

If you are playing against your horrible created team with your maxed out Eagles team and game settings in your favor, then this is quite easy.

Since you are faster than the other team you should no problems out running the other team or stiff arming them with

It is easiest with two controllers. Have your opponent kick the ball deep with max power to either sideline. Run the ball up the slideline and have your opponent press to either hit to dive or use the to move the defender away from you. Just do it one more time with the same player and the trophy is yours.

DeAngelo Hall Award
Intercept 4+ passes in one game (No OTP or co-op)
*Unlocks after game ends.*

This does NOT have to be done with one player. If you are using your loaded and maxed out Eagles team against your horrible created team and game settings in your favor, then you will have plenty of chances for interceptions.

The easiest way is using two controllers. Have your opponent run a curl route, and as soon as your opponent snaps the ball quickly press the button to the corresponding receiver for a lob pass. Whenever the ball is in your area press and then press to intercept the ball. You should use either a Cover 2 or Cover 6. With your maxed out Eagles cornerbacks, they will intercept the ball most of the time.

Do this 4 times and the trophy is yours.

If you are still having troubles, then try the method below.

Boost the stats of your cornerback, and then set the difficulty to All-Madden and just lob the ball to you receiver on a curl route with the 2nd controller. You won't pick it every time, but you won't have as many tips as you would on Rookie. I was also able to get 2 pick 6's including a 100 yd return, so don't even worry about adjusting the sliders.

David Bowens Award

Best to do with two controllers. Have your opponent either take the kickoff or run the QB all the way down to their 5 yard line. Then have your opponent run a curl route, and as soon as your opponent snaps the ball quickly press the button to the corresponding receiver for a lob pass. Whenever the ball is in your area press and then press to intercept the ball. You should use either a Cover 2 or Cover 6. With your maxed out Eagles cornerbacks, they will intercept the ball most of the time. Do this 2 times and the trophy is yours. This does NOT have to be done with one player.

For most of the trophies, you can get them by using the Madden NFL 12 Developers Team. They have an 99 overall rating, and most of the players on the team have a 99 rating. You select them by going to Play Now, and then keep randomly selecting a team (use L2), until you get them. Faster than manually changing a bunch of player stats.
