Top of the Leaderboards for Plat?

Hey guys, I was just reading some of the topics on the x360 achievement's LP2 forum, and there were a few posts mentioned that there is Noms De Guerre for being in the Top 10 and #1 on the leaderboards.Whether that's the leaderboards for the training missions or just standard online play, I have no idea, but that seems pretty brutal to attain the plat, when you consider that one of the trophies requires you to unlock all items and titles.

I know there have been games like GRAW and Lips on 360 which have such brutal leaderboard related acheivements, but I'm not sure what to believe here. This might just screw over many of us for our chances at the plat.

Can anyone confirm if this leaderboard thing is accurate?

Well you also have to remember that you need save files form other Capcom games to get certain titles. So this could be a real pain.

But from what I figure, since all the save related titles are in a special group called Special, maybe those dont count towards the trophy? Maybe its just there as an extra thing. Because really, how many people can get the number 1 spot before it becomes impossible? Now thats fine for XBOX but screwing over 1 bronze trophy and thus never being able to obtain a Platinum is just too much.

If this is the case hopefully we can voice our opinion to Capcom and get them to change it to exclude the Special titles. I dont see why I have to play a bunch of Capcom games just to get a title for a trophy.

But then again, Street Fighter Costume DlC...

I find it hard to imagine such an extreme set of circumstances for a bronze trophy (even though this game is quite brutal as far as the trophies are concerned!), but then I only have 1% of the Noms De Guerre so far, so there are tons more to discover.

As the guys on x360 said, this sort of thing isn't without precedent. GRAW had an achievement that required you to be #1 on the multiplayer leaderboards. Lips has two acheivements like that, world record score for one song, and top ten for twenty songs.

And yes, it becomes impossible to beat certain scores after a while. Unless Capcom decides to be merciful (ie, not retarded) and reset the times every week or so.

I just managed to get the world record for one of the training maps, after a couple of hours of grinding. And unfortunatly for all of us, the TOP TEN and NUMBER ONE titles are definitely part of the standard Noms de Guerre.

The record times were pretty turbulent while I was doing my runs, so it's still possible to edge out the world record holders, but the opportunities are shrinking fast, and apparently when the game is released in Japan, the rest of us will be pretty much screwed, as they're big fans of Lost Planet.

There are 50 maps to get a record on. So it's not impossible...just insane....Two things that might help:

1. The fastest route will involve well planned and accurate grappling.

2. Try to minimize the height at which you fall or jump from, because the resulting stumble slows you down about half a second.

When grappling up onto things, try to grapple high on the block, so the leap up catapults you slightly forward, which gives you about 0.2 of a second.

Also, don't restart a run if you're a little behind at your first checkpoint. On my world record run, I was about 0.3 of a second behind at the first checkpoint, but managed to jump ahead 0.4 of a second by the second checkpoint. Which means, for that matter, map 5-2 of the basic courses still has room for improvement if anyone is interested :P

So yeah, whoever is going for the plat, DO THIS ASAP, because it's only going to get harder the longer you leave it.

Congrats on the World Record buddy. I tried for hours to beat the WR for training mode one but I can get those jump cancels down well when it comes to propelling upwards. Oh well, I guess I'll grind more tonight then, 3D Dot Game Heros can wait.

I still hope all this isn't true. We need someone with a Plat to write a guide for this thing ASAP

Woo! Finally got Top Rank in Advanced Training Map 1 Level 2!

Now just gotta wait for the leaderboards to update!
