Lego Rock Band - Road Map and Trophy Guide

Recommended Posts

Overview

• Estimated difficulty: 5/10.

• Offline trophies: 50 (37 (B), 10 (S), 2 (G), 1 (P)).

• Online trophies: 0.

• Estimated time to platinum: 20 – 25 hours

• Minimum number of play-throughs needed: 1.

• Missable Trophies: None.

• Glitched Trophies: None.

• Do cheats disable trophies? N/A

Note: All trophies can be obtained on the Super Easy Difficulty except The Final Count Down and Brian MAY Be Jealous. Another note, you cannot fail a song, so if you gain 5 stars in a song, you can stop playing and still receive 5 stars at the end. Also, if you don't want to play the songs, you can play as a vocalist on super easy and place the mic by something that makes sounds (a fan, TV, speakers, etc) and you will receive 5 stars for every song.

There is also a "short song" mode, just press R1 at the difficulty selection screen.

You can use short song mode in:

- single songs

- self-made setlists with only LRB songs

- special gigs

- towards Veteran Performer trophy

You can't use it in:

- mystery setlists (don't know if it works if you don't have any DLC)

- self-made sets with DLC/RB1 songs

- rock power challenges

Thank you Vintsukka for that information.

Roadmap

Introduction: If you have played Rock Band or Rock Band 2, this game is exactly the same. The music choices are a little different but the difficulty factor on some songs remains. It is easy platinum because the game introduced a new Super Easy mode.

Step 1: Story Line Play Through. Play through the story line on which difficulty you prefer. I recommend hard if you are familiar with Rock Band games or medium if you are new. Although you can complete the entire game on Super Easy, that tends to get really boring. Find a difficulty that suits your skill and interests. Next, buy all the vehicles and do all the rock power challenges. These are mandatory to progress through the story and can't be missed. This will get you the majority of the trophies and around 400 stars. Sometimes the game will prompt you to play a new gig after completing another gig. Accept if you want to cut down the time for Veteran Performer and Super Stars.

Step 2: Clean-up: Play the Rock Marathon and the Endless Set List (See the trophy descriptions for strategies). Go back to previous areas and play any gigs that you missed. That should take care of 1000 stars, any studs you may need, and entourage members. Finally, practice The Final Countdown solo (You’ll need it ;)).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/273/39.jpgSuper Stars (S)

Get 1,000 Stars

You need to get 1000 stars in the game. Completing the story mode should get you around 400 stars. The Rock Marathon will net you 75 stars and the Endless Set List will get you 150 stars. Now you need to go back to previous areas and complete the gigs with 5 stars. I recommend, to speed things up, picking short songs for the create your set list and album gigs such as Charlene I’m Standing Right Behind You (Free DLC). A note, there are more than 1000 stars in the game, so don't worry about having to 5 star every song/setlist/gig.

Achieve a 100% Stud Recovery during a performance

After you fail during song, you will be automatically revived. When you are revived you are in “recover mode”. Simply hit all the notes in recover mode to receive the trophy.

Complete a song with four band members

See Practice Makes Perfect

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/273/47.jpgPractice Makes Perfect (S)

All four band members score 100% notes hit

Get 4 players together, pick a short song such as Charlene I’m Standing Right Behind You, set the difficulty to Super Easy, and complete with all 4 players hitting 100%. NOTE: This cannot be done with a regular controller as the second guitar. You must have a second guitar controller.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/273/48.jpgSolid Gold, Easy Action! (S)

Gold Star any song

The easiest is to play We Will Rock you on expert Bass. There are a total of 5 star powers in the song. After the first 2, use star power. DON'T USE STAR POWER AFTER THE NEXT 2. Wait until you get the next 3 and then use star power. Hit 100% all the notes and you will get gold stars.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/273/49.jpgThe Final Countdown (S)

Score 100% on the Guitar Solo in 'The Final Countdown' on Expert

This may be the hardest trophy in the game. 100% the solo on The Final Countdown on Expert. There is no real strategy except practice on different speeds until you feel confident. Cannot be unlocked in Practice mode.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/273/03.jpgTour de Force (B)

Play at every venue on the World Tour

Play in every venue on the world tour. This should come naturally, but if it doesn’t, just play a gig in the venue you missed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/273/04.jpgVeteran Performer (S)

Complete all gigs on the World Tour (except for the Rock Marathon Setlist and Endless Setlist)

This requires you to complete every gig on world tour. This should come if you are going for Super Stars. Just go back to all the areas and play every gig. NOTE: You will probably get 1000 stars before completing every gig.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/273/05.jpgLong-Distance Rocker (B)

Complete the Rock Marathon Setlist on the World Tour

A 15 song set list. It will take about an hour to complete. See Endless Shameless for alternative strategy.

Ok, so here is what I have. In the final area of the game (Space), I did EVERY thing possible after beating the game. Every venue, and 5 starred them all. Once I had no where else left to go, then and only then did the 15 song setlist unlock. It unlocks in the UFO (1st of the 3 venues). I am currently 'playing' it (mic + fan = easy trophy)

Thank you Gamer42 for this information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/273/06.jpgEndless Shameless (G)

Complete the Endless Setlist on the World Tour

YES! Another endless set list. However, this is only 30 randomized songs. So if you want to play it, it will take roughly around 2 - 2 ½ hours. Another alternative is doing it on super easy on vocals and placing the mic by a fan or speakers. This will get you the trophy without playing the game.

after completing the 15 song setlist, the 30 song setlist is unlocked and ready for play in the 3rd venue (Space Rock Festival)

Thank you Gamer42 for this information.

Good job on the guide. Pretty straightforward, but you got it right. I'm glad you pointed out an easy song to Gold star, I wasn't sure what would be good for that.

One tip I would add, for people like me, is that if you get very bored with this, you can get through without even playing. This is really helpful for the Endless Set list.... Enter as a vocalist, set the difficulty to super easy, get out your iPod and a pair of over the ear headphones ad turn the iPod's volume up app the way. Then pick something on your iPod that is constantly loud and place the mic in the cup of the headphone. Sit back and watch all of the songs get 5 stars without you doing anything.

I know that sounds cheap, but this is a terrible game. So many bad songs that I couldn't bear to play more than once.

Rather than using your Ipod it is much easier just to use a fan. It constantly makes noise and you will 5 star every song.

And if you don't own an iPod or a fan, you can just turn up the volume on your tv and place the mic near the speakers. Just remember to set the mic volume to minimum from the settings so there's no feedback.

thank you all for the tips, i have that in the endless set list section but I'll put it at the top too

Veteran Performer is actually a bit tricky because as you complete all the gigs, you may reach a point where no more gigs have unlocked when you've played the last open gig. At this point, you should continue playing gigs you're previously played. Personally, I got fed up strumming the songs so I played on Super Easy Vox, hooked it up to the speaker, and chose the mysterious set list (doesn't matter which venue) and just simply enjoyed the music. Eventually, the locked gigs will be opened up. The last 2 gigs will be "Greatest Hits Album" and "Greatest Hits Promotion".

I did the math, and turns out the entire career includes 369 songs (that's including the Marathon and Endless Setlist, so Veteran Performer requires 324 songs), meaning the most stars you can get is 1845.

Just in case you want to include this info in your guide.

EDIT: There's also a "short song mode", which shortens all songs to about 2/3 of the original length. I'm not sure if this affects trophies, but I'm guessing no since it's not mentioned anywhere. I'm currently working my way towards Veteran Performer, so I'll let you know when I get there. Should be in a couple of days.

You can select "short song mode" by pressing R1/yellow fret (dunno what on drums) in the screen where you select your difficulty.

Another EDIT: It seems "short song mode" only applies to LRB disc songs, so you can't use it on mystery setlists or created setlists with DLC or RB1 songs.

If anyone has the platinum for this game, could they post it? Or post it in the platinum trophy image thread.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/general-ps3-discussion/24558-platinum-trophy-image-thread-15.html#post424671

you can find the image here ->playstation

Go to your game, copy paste the URL of the platinum image. It will be a small image but that doesn't matter I'll change it ;)

I want to platinum this game, but the ones that require playing on expert are going to keep me from getting it. I can't seem to handle it when they add the orange button so I've always just played on medium. I also don't know if I can get together 4 different people who are capable of scoring 100% on a song. No plat for me, I suppose. :(

The Final Countdown is a series of hand-rolling patterns that descend faster than they ascend. Once you get the motion down, you'll have no problems. I've done it several times on RB2, but haven't bothered putting the Lego disc in to get the trophy. Rock Band has absoloutely ruined my trophy hunting...

Just got Veteran Performer and can now confirm that you can get it by playing short song mode.

You can use short song mode in:

- single songs

- self-made setlists with only LRB songs

- special gigs

You can't use it in:

- mystery setlists (don't know if it works if you don't have any DLC)

- self-made sets with DLC/RB1 songs

- rock power challenges

You should use spoiler tags on the hidden trophies. I personally don't like to see the trophy images of hidden trophies until I unlock them.

Why come to a site where the sole purpose of said site is to get trophies the quickest pay possible?

If you don't want to spoil anything play the game without a guide.

Other than that, to the OP, AWESOME guide... I've used it thus far and got like 25% in just a few hours. THANKS!

please don't flame, just because he/she uses a trophy guide ad is a trophy hunter doesn't mean they don't care about spoilers. We are all entitled to our opinion and some may want to save the secret trophies for their figuring out.

I got the platinum a while back. Various recommendations include:

-Play the short versions at every opportunity. Playing all the gigs is ridiculously time consuming and I was bored out of my mind with it.

-Whenever doing Make a Setlists, choose short songs to speed things up. I used Charlene (1:30), Song 2 (2:02), and a random third every time I was bored.

-Once you get 1000 stars don't bother playing. The only way you can fail is by doing a Rock Power Challenge with 2 or more people. If you do this, when you finish the set it will be blank next to the name instead of having stars but it will count as being played. I didn't play a single song off of the Endless Setlist or the other long one.

-If you use the above method, certain setlists won't unlock. To unlock them you need to 5 star some setlists in whatever vehicle is missing setlists. Usually they're just Make a Set or Random.

-For those good enough to do the Final Countdown solo, put on Breakneck Speed and don't bother playing until the solo. The game won't fail you so it's better to rest your hand until the solo. Just make sure you don't go into recovery mode right before the solo, because there's a gap between when you fail and when recovery mode kicks in.

Sorry if that's confusing.
