GTA IV wasn't that big. You could easily drive to the other side of the island within 10minutes. Also, if you turn off the traffic, you could easily do it within 3.

You always have to take stuff like this with a grain of salt. When developers claim it takes X minutes to get from one end of the map to the other, they don't tell you at what speed that is... and you can pretty much safely assume they don't mean driving in the fastest car in the game and at top speed.

Everything sounds great about this game and it should be a day 1 purchase for me.

However, the only thing stopping me from buying it on day 1 is me. I have this stupid habit of buying games, starting them and then leaving them for a while.

I think I'm gonna wait and get it at a later date

P.S. To the guy who said it took 20 minutes to get to the other side of the map on GTA... what were you driving? A scooter?

Yeah, I know. But let's say they drove a standard car, if you take the fastest, it will probably still take quite a while to get there.. Well, hopefully

considering GTA IV was decent and were different and represented what the trophy is, and RDR was kind of the same, expect the same thing

Exactly. I once read somewhere that R* said you'd need 30 minutes to drive from one side of San Andreas to the other side of San Andreas.

That probably translates to about 15 hours or something. Maybe a slight exaggeration but people always claim their games are longer than they actually are. Still I'd take a solid 15 hour story. Most games are too short these days.

This, RDR was said to be 25-30 hours long but i had it beat in about 14 hours (including side missions and the occasional messing around...) But still anything above 10 hours makes me happy, or contempt atleast... Im just really happy they didn't tack on a multiplayer.
