Where can I pick this up, I have tried chapter 2 and cant find it.

At the end of the chapter before you open the gate by twisting the red lever, it gets dropped by an enemy near it. As far as i am concerned tho, more enemies have it as well coz i kept getting shot by another helghast while i already picked it up. Hope this helps

^This. I got it from the dude who was standing close to the red lever. If you can't find it close to his body, it might have dropped down.

i picked it up in the first chapter when you eit the building you run down some steps (can't describe it properly) and there is a guy with an RPG to your right when i killed him he dropped a shotgun pistol (it might have been another person up there who i killed aswell)

I picked it sometime after rescuing narville cause i got the trophy to pop for that gun on the section where you have to destroy all the glass in the lab.

later in the campaign, i think around chapter 6, the shotgun pistol becomes your starting secondary. this made the trophy much easier for me

There's one in the area where you first pick up the Arc Cannon. That's where I did it.
