You are very lucky then. I can surely think of at least 20 games I've played that were worse.
Is it really worse than Brink? Terminator Salvation? Is it less painful than Pain? Get Fap With Mel B? And dare I ask- it is worse than Far Cry 2? Maybe you're not so lucky after all. Last edited by Azgard12; 05-28-2012 at 05:14 PM. |

I agree that Jak II has weird spikes in difficulty and that it can be frustrating at times.
Everything else is completely moronic. It's still a great game in a great series. There's a reason people keep asking for Jak 4 and it's not because of the first game alone. |

When you fail a mission, about 50% of the time, it's something that was out of your control. Which means you'd better make the best of the other half. |

First off I love Jak 1, played it many times on PS2 and never moved on to the other games. Now playing the trilogy and not sure which things annoy me more on Jak 2:
- the camera (yes it was bad on Jak 1, but Jak 1 was easy and therefore didn't bother me much, when I die on Jak 2 because of the camera it makes me mad!) - the checkpoints (or lack thereof) - the fact the vehicles blow up really quickly/easily - the fact it takes ages to get anywhere on the map and the driving sucks so it's not even enjoyable getting places (fast travel would be good!) - the controls (vehicles included) are what I can only describe as 'floaty' - returning to the same levels again and again and having to kill all the crappy enemies again and again - that little bit of highway in the central section of the map to the east and south of the two baron/baddie signs (never got through it without crashing) There, mini rant over, I'm sure others will have their own personal gripes. I find the game overly difficult for what it is, and often the difficulty is because of erratic A.I. or unfair gameplay. I will play Jak 3 as I hear it's a bit gentler, if not like Jak 1, which I wish it was. |

I thought there was enough checkpoints. Don't rush, take it easy, don't die. I guess it's bothering if you keep losing, Jak 3 sometimes gets easier each time you die. ![]() Yeah, vehicles blow up a bit too fast, and it's too easy to hit the guards that seems to be everywhere all the time. Fast travel would indeed be great, I thought too it was boring to get from one place to the other. There really was no reason to explore the city, and everything in it just served to annoy you. Jak 3 fixes this by the guards not being as annoying, not as many people, a tad bit more open, and most importantly secrets and stuff to find around in the city, giving us a reason to explore. As far as I noticed, in Jak 3 when you did city racing missions, the annoying people and ships around you that always seemed to be in your way and sometimes even blocked your path in Jak 2 making it impossible to win, is gone. ![]() The controls of those vehicles wasn't that bad, they were pretty realistic. I mean you call the controls of a floating vehicle for floaty, it sounds like a compliment. Though the karts in Jak 3 and the Jak X kart game was pretty awful, especially compared to their earlier kart game...You usually explore some new place of the level when you return... You don't want the enemies to have respawned? It only takes just a couple of seconds to kill them! In any case, you will be glad to hear in Jak 3 you don't visit the same locations as often as you do in Jak 2.The gameplay really wasn't that hard, but sometimes it was unfair, which is not a good thing at all. Though, I think Jak 3 improved upon all the flaws in Jak 2, but it introduced new ones because of the new kart, but it's not as bad. |

![]() - Didn't notice any camera differences, sorry ![]() - YES! The main problem! The game is awful for checkpoints! It WOULD have a world record for the fewest, were it not for Demon's Souls. - Agreed. All of the vehicles that go at "decent" speed will blow up if you touch ANYTHING at full speed, hence you have to go with the heavily-armoured "shell-like" car every time, which is awfully slow. When making the game, they should have DECREASED the damage you take from crashes but SLIGHTLY INCREASED the Krimzon Guards' damage to vehicles, in my opinion. - The only reason they didn't include fast travel is to drag the game out!! The game would be 1/3 or half as long were it not for the travel...- The vehicles are meant to be floaty Can't say I noticed floatiness, but then again some people say Sackboy jumps floatily but I can never notice anything...- Yeah, returning to the same areas is tedious, but the enemies tend to be different each time! In Jak 3, there are MUCH bigger weapons, one of which [SPOILER] will take out everyone on the screen in one atomic blast! It's the third tier of the purple weapon.- Without looking at a Jak 2 map, I don't know which part you mean, sorry I also don't want to LOOK at a map because it will bring back bad memories...
