You know, that glitch where you grab the orb at 0.00. I read somewhere that it was easier to do in Jak 3 but another user on this forum said its harder in Jak 3. I just want to hear peoples opinions on what they thought from how it was in Jak 2 to 3. Havent made it to Jak 3 yet and the glitch is hard in Jak 2 so im wondering what ill be up against in Jak 3. Thanks for the input

Speaking of Precursor Orbs Whats The Best Orb Hunt Mission To Do it on?
(Basically Which Precursor Orb Hunt is The Shortest/Fastest) EDIT: It is NOT Easier in Jak 3 its harder. -[Long Process]The Process of restarting the mission takes like 5 seconds. - You Must Land Directly on the orb and when you restart the mission it freezes everything like a mission failed so you have to be 1 cm above the orb when you pause the game to restart. It's way harder to do in Jak 3 because you have to time it precisely and a longer restart process.

Doing the Jump/Restart Glitch: I did Double Jumps against the wall and watched Jak's feet, as soon as they were close to touching the Orb I paused the game, restarted and successfully grabbed the Orb. Double Jumps are easier to time the downfall, The problem is if you pause the game too early you won't get the Orb. In Jak 3 though you won't be able to do it 100% everytime, I'd say your Success To Fail Rate 75%/25% depending on your reaction time. The longest successful streak I went on was 6 and the longest failures were 2. Last edited by Sunny992; 02-15-2012 at 11:46 AM. |

Thank you guys!
![]() The technique was awesome, as the jumping on top of it wasn't as easy as in Jak II.Here's what I did: If you bring a kart you will be inside it whenever you restart the mission, so bring a fast one along. The mission you will want to do is found behind a rock near some ruins of a city in the desert (where you ride some animals and cage them as Daxter after chasing them with your kart early in the game). Yes, the mission is behind some rock right outside the city, and it will want you to drive forward and then right down to some gate into the city where the orb will be. You get a lot of time, but because you are inside the kart it's so easy and fast to get down there that you will have a lot of spare time (I usually have around 8 seconds), which you can use to prepare yourself! Stand right next to the orb and press and then extremely fast afterward press (almost at the same time, you will hear a sound of him starting to do the attack movement, but without having taken the orb yet) for then to restart the mission. If you do it correctly, you will get the orb after you've restarted the mission for another shot at the same orb you already got. I can do this above 90% of the time, it's super easy (no running) and it takes me about 15 seconds total per interval (load times etc is included)! Save once in a while, so that if you fail, you can load back! It won't auto save like in Jak II when you complete the mission, so no need to keep two saves.I was seriously looking for the easiest spot while I played through the game, and I think this is one of the best. To answer the thread openers question, no, the orb glitch is harder in Jak 3, but the one you heard about in Jak II is not the fastest or best one in Jak II. It is less hassle in Jak 3 though, because it doesn't auto save when you beat the mission, so you don't need to keep two saves.

The method I paste above from the other thread works 100% everytime. You really don't have to even get too close to the orb either. Using this makes the glitch far easier than in Jak 2. FWIW, I did it at the ladder location shown in other threads... |

I'm fully aware that this is now outdated and old, but seeing as this is one of the highest hits on google (at time of typing), I figured I'd add an even easier way.
Stand near the orb, hold L2 (for Dark Jak), then press start, and restart mission. You will turn Dark Jak just before it reloads, which makes you a magnet for the orb. |

Yup. That's the method i used. Took me about 45 minutes to get 300 orbs. Do it on one of those timed missions where you have to find the orb.
