I never really changed my difficulty as it was automatically switched to Hard, and I just stuck with it.

Btw, I just finally finished beating Kessler.....talk about a frustrating and lengthy final fight!

Near the end of my evil play through, just before the last mission, I switched the game to hard. Once all of that was completed, I started a new game and I was already in "hard".

I switched to hard before starting a new game then I was on the hard setting from the begining next time round

You should be OK. the game switched me to hard then, i switched it back, but i think you'll be fine.

Just to be sure I started the game and then did it agInafter it started, just to be sure. I certainly didn't want to go back and do it all again, just in case it didn't work.
