Favorite will always be Gaius. He represents probably my most memorable moment in all of gaming...i was doing the Hard Time Attack on him, which is merciless. You Tube gave me some nice videos of a way to fling yourself from his sword and land up on his shoulders (the only way to get the Hard Time i think) but my experience was far more epic (and lucky
) ...i hit the sweet spot on the sword and went flying through the air towards his head, and as i was falling, he lifted his head up...i saw my opportunity to be epic and pressed the stab button just as Wander came crashing down on the tip of his dome...drove the sword home to a gout of black smoke and a might roar from Gaius and took the vital on his head out in one shot!

First of all, call them by their REAL names; or the names I called them by, that is:
1. The First One. 2. The Cow/Sloth 3. The Knight 4. The Horse 5. The Bird 6. The Beard 7. The Eel 8. The Lizard 9. The Turtle 10. The Sandsnake 11. The Pain in the Ass Boar/Dog 12. The Water Gorilla with Teeth on it's Head 13. The Dragon 14. The Lion 15. The Knife Guy 16. The Skirt-wearing Titan My favorite is, of course #5 with #14 and #16 in a close tie for second. #5 absolutely took my breathe away the first time I played it and I love 14 and 16 because of the journey to actually get to the colossus itself. #11 is the worst because of when it hits you over and over until you die a painful slow death. BUT, I just figured out that you have JUST enough time to do a roll the second you get up by mashing R1 and triangle as you are getting up. Hope this helps! |

I'm on 13, and so far my favourite has been the sand snake. I really liked being able to use Agro during the fight and standing on his back to shoot the snake in the eye. Least favourite has been the water one where you have to hit the things on his head. That one was pretty tedious and long.

Actually I remembered that part being bad but it wasn't really. I was always able to get away easily when he hit me. The worst part was after getting on his back trying to find an opening to stab him. Last edited by Dragonslayer023; 09-29-2011 at 11:29 AM. |

if you have great depth perception and luck, you can do a leaping sword stab off the cliff right into his belly after you chase him off the platform with the stick to break his armor...kills him dead on normal. you need a 2nd stab for difficult tho |

This is probably my favorite standalone game of all time. I've spent so many hours of my life playing through this beautiful piece of art. The fact that they've re-released it on PS3 brings nothing but joy to me. Now if I could just get Kingdom Hearts on PS3, I would never need turn my PS2 on again. Anyway...
I have to agree with most people around here that Avion and Phalanx are probably the two best battles; just something about the aerial fights sets them above the rest. My favorite non-aerial battle would have to be Argus, though, because that whole fight is just amazing. I would also like to throw an honorable mention to Celosia, because I really enjoyed the indirect manner of that fight, with the toppling pillars and using his rage to destroy his own armor. Plus, I loved the setting of the fight. And Hydrus is fun too. It's kinda like facing off against Jaws in the middle of the ocean. Haha. My least favorite colossus would probably have to be Phaedra. I love the setting, and he's a cool-looking beast, but he is pure torture for me to kill. And Malus is just an asshole.
