Yeah since this section is here now (thanks again olsen), did anyone else have one of these things back in the day? I did. Man it did suck down the batteries but some of the games were pretty fun. Also it was always a great back-up system to keep around because when I used to get into trouble, my parents would take my games as punishment. They'd have me bring my PC power cable, TV power cable, game consoles and my GameBoy to them so I couldn't play for a few days. But they never remembered to ask for my Game Gear and I sure as hell never volunteered it either.
So I would just sit in my room and play Game Gear instead, haha. Ah the old days. ![]() Anyway if you did have one, what about games? I remember playing the version of Bust A Move I had for it for hours and hours. And I had some really weird puzzle game called Zoop. Also as some of you may have seen in my backloggery, I also have a very strange game about Ren and Stimpy and a shaven yak. I have no idea what it is. And sadly I can't find out because my screen is busted. So yeah. Game Gear. If you had one, share some stories.

My parents wouldn't allow me to get any game systems when I was younger.
I do remember going to the park though and someone had a Game Gear and I'd just sit next to them and watch them play Sonic.

Sega does what Ninten-DONT! Remember that shit? Lmfao.. what happened to the good console war days! Now it's all so damn serious
![]() I remember the Game Gear though. I played a lot of games on it but the ones I played the most were probably Double Dragon, Paperboy, Lemmings, Prince of Persia and Shining Force 2. I don't even know what happened to mine though. Might need to check out ebay because downloading roms just wouldn't cut it. |

I love the Game Gear! I've still got mine that I got for Christmas in the mid 90's, although it's packed away in the attic at the moment. It still works but the sound has gone(headphones work though)which seems to be a common problem alongside busted screens if ebay sales are anything to go by. I have some great memories of it. I think I've got nearly every sonic game for it including this rare one called Sonic Labyrinth and the rather odd Tails Adventure. James Pond 3 was a good blast too.

I had one. Remember playing Lemmings on it if I recall correctly on long road trips. I could be crazy though.
Although I do recall the first Sonic game for the GameGear had some pretty decent music. Even if they did blatantly rip off some of it... Play that from the 1:24 mark forward against the Sonic music. |
