If they were really hinting at something for May 24 it was probably the next trailer or some sort of reveal but back then MP3 was still on schedule for March so what happens now who knows.

I think it would be safe to assume that if we don't get a new trailer by mid June or a new Game Informer issue next month its definitely not coming until 2013.

TakeTwo is set to report their Q4 and fiscal 2012 earnings on May 22 so it will be interesting to see if GTA is mentioned and what sort of further outlook they paint for 2013.

We already know from their Q3 report that they expect their fiscal 2013 to be one of the best years ever with net income of over $2 per share. The only way they can reach that price or have a best year is with a GTA game. Fiscal 2013 ends March 31/2013 so going by the May 24/2013 speculation from the trailer doesn't make sense since that would land it in fiscal 2014.
