Amount of Red Orbs collected on Easy Difficulty

Last night I was fighting the Barbarian King and I guess I wasn't focused enough to beat him in under a few attempts and before I was really aware of what I was agreeing to, I had switched to Easy Difficulty when I thought I was just restarting from my last checkpoint. That's all well in good, I'd rather enjoy the game a bit more and play it at a more relaxed pace, but then I got worried.

I am trying to use the gamefaqs walkthrough linked in the roadmap to make sure I don't miss too many chests, but if I play at the easiest difficulty would it drastically lessen the amount of Red Orbs I get from combat (less enemies to fight or less payout for kills). I ruined my chances to fully upgrade all weapons in the first God Of War and I want to make sure i don't make that mistake again.

It's been a while since I last played it, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. Lower difficulty means weaker enemies, not fewer, and the payout should be the same, if not more for red orb chests. Stronger enemies take more to kill, which means you are missing out on a few red orbs from combos, but that's not going to prevent you from getting all the upgrades as long as you find all the chests.

I found all the chests on the normal difficulty and ended up just under 9k short for orbs to max out all weapons/magic. Only thing I missed was the message in the sky easter egg and supposedly that nets 9k orbs.

On Titan difficulty, back in the day, had less orbs. So, I'd assume there's a ton on Easy.

I upgraded everything on my easy playthrough and got the trophy around the time of the Kraken.

Same for me. I got the trophy when I opened the two chests at the Phoenix right after the Kraken encounter.

I just finished Easy and I got enough red orbs to fully upgrade all weapons including the Blade of Olympus in my only playthrough. You get plenty if you find lots of chest. Get all the gorgon eyes and feathers as soon as possible for more red orbs. It's like 2000 more in chests if you get them all.

This is right. I started the game on medium difficulty, just to have a little challenge but near the end I was offered easy mode, and "Fuck it. Why not?". When I continues playing easy I started getting tons of Orbs like 2 times the orbs I got on medium.

I'm not sure if this is accurate but from those chests that release those big shiny orbs you normally get:

Easy - 2000
Medium - 1000
Hard - 500
Very Hard - 250

Not sure about the last two, but the first ones are definitely right.

I finished it in Easy mode and maxed out all weapons, with like 25k red orbs unused...
just look for red chests, they are easy to spot: always explore all areas before following the most logica path
