. This game has a good mix of trophies, most of which are in the single player mode. The good thing about this game is that if you miss any PKE scans, artifacts or any of the scenario trophies like Kosher, you can use a mission select, which is broken down into each checkpoint. I recommend playing through the game once on Casual or Experienced, working on all the in game trophies, one of the two money trophies and getting used to the controls and different guns, going back through each mission after beating the game to get the rest of the PKE scans and artifacts, and then either playing through again on the hardest difficulty, only worrying about finishing the game and getting the other money trophy, or working on the multiplayer trophies. Just make sure that on one of your playthroughs to work on Nice Shootin' Tex, or you'll have to play through a third time. Story Related Trophies:
We Have the Talent!Bronze Trophy Complete the Firehouse training level.
Just beat the first level. Nothing tricky here.
The Flowers Are Still Standing!Bronze Trophy Complete the 'Welcome to the Hotel Sedgewick' level.
Beat the level.
Once S'more into the Breach Bronze Trophy Complete the 'Panic in Times Square' level.
Beat the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man and finish the level. If you're having trouble with him, make sure you shoot the mini marshmallows that he spawns as soon as you see him blowing on the building. Other than that, just keep hitting him with Bozon darts.
Get Her!Bronze Trophy Complete the 'Checking Out the Library' level.
Defeat Azetlor the Collector and finish the level. If you're having trouble with Azetlor, here's an idea of what to do. First, use your Slime Blower and focus on his face. You may need to revive the other Ghostbusters while you're doing this. Eventually his face will change and they'll tell you to get him. Grab his mask with your blast stream and pull his mask off with a slam (L2). Azetlor will start moving around the room attacking you and the others. Make use of the portals lining the room here, as whenever he gets close to you, he'll run you over which should knock you out, and will likely K.O. any Ghostbuster that comes to help. Just keep blasting his mask with Bozon Darts or your Blast Stream and dive into a portal as soon as he heads in your direction.
Ghost Fever Grips New York Bronze Trophy Complete the 'Museum of (Super)Natural History' level.
Defeat the Chairman and finish the level. If you need help with him, here's an idea of what to do. The Chairman will float around the outside of the level while summoning ghosts from the portals on the floor. Use your Slime Blower on the portals, which will close them for a few minutes, and then use the Meson Collider, first by using your (R2) attack, which acts as a homing becon, and then just pepper him with (L2) shots. Until the homing shot wears off, your shots will follow him and are fairly powerful. Aside from that, just make sure to seal the portals with your Slime Blower occasionally.
Somebody Saw A Cockroach on 12 Bronze Trophy Complete the 'Return to the Sedgewick' level.
Defeat the Spiderwitch and finish the level. When you turn on the generator and the water becomes electrified, find the wire (which looked more like a lamp to me) in the water on your right side and Slime Tether it to the ceiling. For the Spiderwitch, I used the same strategy as the Chairman, relying on the Meson Collider's homing shot to defeat her. When she runs off to regenerate, find her using the PKE meter, or if your homing shot hasn't worn off, follow the path your shots take. If she's nearby, they'll fly right at her.
Let Me Guess, Gozer Worshippers Bronze Trophy Complete the 'Lost Island Rising' level.
Defeat the Imprisoned Juvenile Slor and finish the level. Once you get to the room with the spinning planets, go up to the three floating orbs moving up and down and Slime Tether them to the ground. They should make a loud noise if you do it right. If you're having trouble with the Slor, here's an idea of what to do. I used the Slime Blower for this entire fight. First destroy the floating eyes on either side of the platform you're standing on, and then aim for the Slor's head. Once his head is exposed and the Ghostbusters tell you to act as bait, run along the platform until you hear a crash. The Slor will have lunged at you, leaving his head exposed. Hit him with the Slime Blower until he stands back up. Clear out the next set of floating eyes and then wait for the Slor to lunge again. Rinse and repeat.
Disaster of Biblical Proportions Bronze Trophy Complete the 'Central Park Cemetery' level.
Defeat Shandor and finish the level. There are a couple tricky parts in this level. First, when you get to the gate with the three glowing skulls, first aim for the stone angels with your Slime Tether. You'll see your aiming reticule change when you're able to hit them with it. Once the Slime Tether is attached to an angel, quickly fire at one of the green skulls on the gate. If the angels are directly above the gate they may miss the skulls, so try to aim for the ones across from the gate. Also try to aim for the angels right after they divebomb you, as they'll be closer to the gate. When you get to the second gate, where Ecto-1 breaks down, use the Slime Blower on the smaller enemies and revive your Ghostbusters as often as you can, while hitting the Keyhead Monsters with either the Blast Stream, Bozon Darts or Meson Collider. You don't have to kill the Keyhead Monsters, so once you're able to grab onto their heads with the Blast Stream, pull their heads off with a slam (L2) and then Slime Tether the keys to the slots in the doors. When you get both keys in the door, all the ghosts will disappear. For Shandor, here's the strategy I used. First attack his force field until the crystal covers surrounding him begin to open, and then attack the crystals with Bozon Darts or the Slime Blower to destroy them. Once they're all destroyed, Shandor will change forms. From here on out, use the Meson Collider to lock on to Shandor, and just keep firing whenever he appears, making sure to revive the Ghostbusters when necessary.
We Came, We Saw…Bronze Trophy Complete the game on 'Casual' or 'Experienced' difficulty.
Beat the game on either of the first two difficulty levels. This trophy also unlocks if you beat the game on Professional.
Are You A God?
Gold Trophy Complete the game on 'Professional' difficulty.
Same as We came, We Saw... except for on Professional difficulty.
Slam Dunk!Bronze Trophy Slam dunk a ghost into a trap.
First you need to buy the Slam Dunk upgrade in the pause menu. After you have it, grab a ghost with your Blast Stream and when move him over the trap. Hit (L2) to slam him, and if he lands anywhere close to the trap, he'll fly right in.
Slime Dunk!Bronze Trophy Trap a ghost using the Slime Tether.
Once you have the Slime Tether, throw a trap and attach one end of the Slime Tether to the trap using (L2). Aim for a nearby ghost and attach the other end of the tether to it. The ghost should fly right into the trap.
Stasis Dunk!Bronze Trophy Trap a ghost using the Stasis Stream.
There are two ways to get this. Once you have the Stasis Stream, first wear a ghost down with your Blast Stream until it's easy to capture. Then use your Stasis Stream to freeze a ghost close to the ground. Once he's frozen, slide a trap underneath him. He should fly right in. An alternative method is to wait until a bunch of Ghostbusters are working on a single ghost. Use your Stasis Stream on the ghost until the other Ghostbusters get him into a trap. This has been more difficult for some people, but it does work.
I Ain't 'Fraid of No Ghost!Bronze Trophy Trap a ghost.
Trap your first ghost. You'll get this in the first level.
Aim for the Flat Top!Bronze Trophy Eliminate a creature.
When you get to the creatures that can't be trapped, kill one.
Heat 'Em UpBronze Trophy Purchase all upgrades for the Proton Gun.
Purchase the upgrades for the Blast Stream and the Bozon Darts. I'd get these within the first two levels to make things easier for you. See I Don't Want My Face Burned Off. Mother Pus Bucket!Bronze Trophy Purchase all upgrades for the Slime Gun.
Purchase the upgrades for the Slime Blower and the Slime Tether. I didn't bother upgrading these until halfway through the game, but on Professional it may be wise to upgrade the Slime Blower earlier on. See I Don't Want My Face Burned Off.
We be fast! They be slow!Bronze Trophy Purchase all upgrades for the Dark Matter Generator.
Purchase the upgrades for the Stasis Stream and the Shock Blast. The Shock Blast is great for smaller creatures, so if you're having trouble with them, upgrade this early. I didn't bother with this gun until halfway through the game. See I Don't Want My Face Burned Off.
I Don't Want My Face Burned Off Bronze Trophy Purchase all upgrades for the Meson Collider.
Purchase the upgrades for the Meson Collider and the Overload Pulse. This is an awesome gun, and by the time you get it you should have more than enough money to upgrade it. In fact, if you aren't going for the Nice Shooting Tex! trophy, you should be able to upgrade every gun you have around the time you get this gun
We Have the Tools!Gold Trophy Purchase all available equipment upgrades.
See above.
The Destructor Bronze Trophy Complete the game with more than $3,000,000 in property damage.
Basically, go nuts. You need to take care of most, if not all of this in the first 4-5 missions. There's plenty to destroy in the Sedgewick Hotel, especially in the ballroom and especially on the street in Times Square, where there are tons of cars that count towards a lot of money. Check the Career Statistics section in the pause menu, and when you have at least $3,000,000 worth of damage, beat the last boss to get the trophy.
Nice Shootin', Tex!Bronze Trophy Complete the game with less than $100,000 in property damage.
For a bronze trophy, this is tough. There are a few things to remember when going for this trophy:
-The $100,000 only counts towards the damage your character does, not the damage done by other Ghostbusters.
-If you're in a crowded area like the ballroom, Times Square or anywhere in the Sedgewick with a lot of stuff, let the other Ghostbusters do most of the work while you worry about reviving them.
-Once you have it, the Slime Tether is a great way to deal with ghosts with pinpoint accuracy. Either Slime Tether them into the floor to stun them, or Slime Dunk them into traps.
-For difficult enemies, make every shot count. Get up close and use Bozon Darts if you can, rather than spraying your Blast Stream around the room.
-If you're really struggling, keep in mind you can get this trophy on any difficulty. If you play through this on Easy, you can let the computer Ghostbusters do all the work in the hotel lobby and in Times Square to avoid doing any damage. From there it'll be a walk in the park.
-olsen77 added some helpful info:
-The only areas where you get a lot of damage are in Chapter 2 in Times Sqaure (don't hit any of the cars, trucks, or buses or you're screwed) and in Chapter 4 in the Civil War exhibit (avoid hitting the cannons at all costs). If you can make it through those two spots hitting at most two things, you'll be ok.
- If you get through Return to the Sedgewick Hotel (Chapter 5) with under $100,000 in damage, you're in the clear. There's nothing that you can damage in Chapters 6 and 7 that is significant enough to add to your total.
...And You Want to Keep It? Bronze Trophy Collect a Cursed Artifact.
Collect any artifact. You'll know there's an artifact around when your PKE meter has a blue light. Follow the meter to find it. See Spores, Molds and Fungus.
Spores, Molds, and Fungus Gold Trophy Collect all Cursed Artifacts.
Collect every artifact in the game. When you go to Replay Mission from the Single Player menu, it will tell you how many artifacts you have left to get in a particular mission. As I said before, the good thing about this game is that you can go back into any mission from any checkpoint to find things you missed. Just make sure you make it to the next checkpoint so everything saves. Here's a guide that explains where everything is: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/984/984731p1.html
I'm Picking Up A Signal…Bronze Trophy Obtain a 100% PKE scan on a paranormal creature.
Use your PKE meter to scan a creature. The closer you are, the easier it is. Make sure it says "Spirit Guide Updated," and make sure all the information in the Spirit Guide is complete for each creature before you move on.
Back Off Man. I'm A Scientist Gold Trophy Obtain 100% PKE scans for every paranormal creature.
Same as with the artifacts, you can use Mission Replay to go back to the old missions to get the PKE scans you missed. It will also tell you how many you have left in a particular mission. I've made a checklist of all the creatures in the Spirit Guide and what missions you'll find them in here: Spirit Guide Checklist
I recommend using it alongside the following guide, which gives you all the information for each entry, so you know what the guide needs to show for it to be a 100% PKE scan: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/984/984731p1.html
I'm a Ghostbuster, Not a Doctor!Bronze Trophy Revive your teammates 20 times.
When one of your teammates gets knocked out, a green circle appears at the bottom of the screen with an arrow. Follow it to the Ghostbuster and press (X) to revive them. Do this 20 times to get the trophy.
I Feel So Funky Bronze Trophy Get slimed by a charging ghost.
You'll get this without even trying.
Total Protonic Reversal Bronze Trophy Knock yourself down with your own weapon.
The easiest way to get this is to fire a Bozon Dart at something really close range. Crossing the streams might work too. Either way, you'll get this before the game is over.
You Gotta Try This Pole!Bronze Trophy Slide down the fire pole.
In the firehouse, go upstairs and find one of the fire poles, and then slide down it.
It's Slime Time Bronze Trophy Use the Slime Tether on 15 ghosts.
Once you get the Slime Gun, use (L2) to attach one end of the Slime Tether to a ghost, and the other to anything you want. Do this to 15 ghosts. The most efficient thing would be to tether ghosts to traps, so you'll get the Slime Dunk trophy while you work on this. Try to get this trophy out of the way as soon as you get the Slime Gun, as the ghosts become a bigger pain as the game goes on, and you won't have as many Ghostbusters interfering with what you're doing.
I Looked at the Trap, Ray!Bronze Trophy Recover 20 of your own full ghost traps.
Once you capture a ghost with your Blast Stream, slide out a trap with the Square button, and guide the ghost into it. Once the ghost has been caught in the trap, walk over and pick up the trap with (X). Do this with 20 traps.
Kosher!Bronze Trophy Remedy a dubious food choice to make the bar mitzvah as orthodox as it can be.
In the Hotel Sedgewick mission at the Rodriguez Barmitzvah checkpoint, once you've entered the ballroom where the bar mitzvah is being held, walk over to the buffet table. You should see a giant ham on the table. Blast it, and the trophy is yours. Make sure you do this before catching Slimer, otherwise you won't be able to get it.
I Love You When You Rough-House!Bronze Trophy The tidy architectural office could use some Proton-based humbling.
In the Time Square mission at the Race to the Roof checkpoint, when you reach the room where the mini marshmallow creatures break through the skylights, you need to destroy absolutely everything in the room. Just walk around shooting things with Bozon Darts, including the glass panels on the columns, the fire extinguishers and the desks. Make sure everything that can be destroyed has been destroyed before moving on. Once the doors break down for the next section, you should get the trophy. If you move on to the next section without getting the trophy, you've missed something to break.
But the Kids Love Us!Bronze Trophy The children's reading room has a story to tell, but it will take more than your eyes to see it.
This one has a couple steps to it. In the Library mission at the Story Hour checkpoint, you'll eventually come to a children's area of the library. Get out your PKE meter and scan the tree to find the first bear. Next, scan the floor to find a hopscotch drawing. Finally, you'll find a door that can't be fully opened to the left of where you came in. Destroy the desk blocking the door and scan the bear in the room to get the trophy. There seems to be some confusion as to what you need to scan for this, but if you scan these three things, you'll get it. Keep in mind that the PKE meter will indicate you're near something, so just keep checking it as you move through the room.
You Never Studied Bronze Trophy Keep your ears open to learn everything you can about the Civil War.
In the museum mission, at the American History checkpoint, you'll find 4 display cases allow you to interact with them by pressing (X). Interact with them all to get the trophy. Make sure you find all 4 before going near the door at the far end of the room where the Ghostbusters are. If you join them, you'll start a cutscene and the room will change, preventing you from getting the trophy.
I've Quit Better Jobs Than This. Bronze Trophy Some ghosts had a real blowout in the Coat Room. Clean it up?
In the Return to Sedgewick Hotel mission at the Splitting Up checkpoint, before joining the Ghostbusters at the elevators, head towards the front doors of the hotel. If you're facing the front doors, on your left there will be a small door in a corner. Open it and you'll find a small room covered in black slime. Neutralize it with your Slime Blower to get the trophy.
Hedgebuster Bronze Trophy The hedge maze is a real eyesore; do some Protonic pruning.
In the Island mission, you'll get to a point where you need to walk down a small set of stairs into a hedge maze in order to open a large gate. Use your Blast Stream to burn down the entire hedge maze. Make sure you don't miss any individual bushes. I'd burn down the whole thing before activating the switch, so you're able to clear out the maze without being attacked.
One down, on the Ground!Bronze Trophy Airborne coffins are an affront to gravity; use your Proton Pack to avenge Mother Nature!
In the Central Park Cemetary mission, you'll get to a circular courtyard with a tree in the middle. You'll have to fight several ghosts here, while flying coffins are thrown at you from the distance. While they're airborne, destroy them with your Blast Stream. You'll need to stand in front of the tree, closest to where the coffins are coming from, so you have a clear shot at them before they hit the ground. The trophy will pop up as soon as you destroy one, so you'll know if you did it right away.
Ghostbusters Drinking Game Bronze Trophy Quench your thirst wherever possible to avoid being scared spitless.
Loans Paid Off Bronze Trophy More than $100,000 earned in multiplayer.
Get money from trapping ghosts and completing objectives. This shouldn't take long to get.
On the Payroll Bronze Trophy Successfully complete one multiplayer campaign.
Finish a multiplayer campaign without failing.
Egon's Guinea Pig Bronze Trophy Use one of every Pickup (both Power-ups and Equipment).
Use each of the 4 weapons and the following pickups: Ammo Pickup, Ethereal Shield, Ghost Shrinker, Ghost Stunner, Pink Slime and Proton Accelerator. Doesn't have to be done in one game.
Payday!Bronze Trophy Be the overall top earner in each multiplayer campaign setting.
In order to get this trophy, you need every round and be the highest earner for all four campaign locations. A campaign consists of three random game modes in succession, and you can do this with a boosting partner within an hour if you're lucky. The requirements you need for each game mode are not as difficult as they are for Gozer's Most Wanted. They are as follows:
-Destruction: just destroy a handful of Relics while your partner does nothing, and then allow yourselves to be knocked out.
-Protection: you will need to extend all three PKE towers, while your partner does very little. If you get a Protection round in your campaign, you might want to just restart, as it is the most difficult and time consuming of the campaign modes. -Survival: defeat the first two or three rounds while your partner does nothing, and then allow yourselves to be knocked out.
-Containment: capture ghosts while your partner does nothing until time runs out. As long as you capture a few, you're fine.
-Thief: you will need to make it to the end of the round with at least one relic. Make sure you do most of the work, so you have more money by the end of the round.
Once you've done all four campaigns, the trophy will unlock.
It's a Living Bronze Trophy Trap over 50 ghosts in your multiplayer Ghostbusting career.
Trap a total of 50 ghosts over all the multiplayer modes. Check your multiplayer statistics to keep track of how many you've trapped.
Wanted!Bronze Trophy Defeat three Most Wanted Ghosts.
The Most Wanted Ghosts will pop up randomly during multiplayer campaigns. A notification will appear on the screen telling you one has arrived. Once you trap or eliminate one, it will be checked off on your Most Wanted list in your multiplayer statistics screen.
Employee of the Month Bronze Trophy Be top earner in each multiplayer job type.
In order to get this, you will need to have earned the most money in each game mode. Similar to some of the other online trophies, just play each game mode with a boosting partner, and make sure you have more money in each game and it should unlock.
No Job Too Big Bronze Trophy Defeated all Most Wanted Ghosts
Same as Wanted! You'll just need to wait for the Most Wanted ghosts to appear in your game, and you'll see them checked off as you eliminate them. Follow the instructions on the MWG screen to get the next ghost to unlock. The only one you should have a problem with is the Glutton Slimer, who seems to just do whatever he feels like. Some people had no problem getting him to unlock, while others ran around for hours searching. Again, I was one of the latter, and he eventually popped up in a random Destruction game. Make sure you're playing with other people who have all the other MWGs caught, as it will greatly increase your chances of seeing him.
Gozer's Most Wanted Bronze Trophy Successfully complete each Multiplayer job in every location.
For this trophy, you will need to fully complete every multiplayer game type on every possible map. The requirements for fully completing a game differ from mode to mode, and there are a ton of different maps to do, but if you use the checklist created by Fizzmatix seen below, it just becomes a matter of spending the time. You're going to want to pair up with a buddy to do the majority of these. Just trade wins on slime dunks, and then work together to finish up the rest. There's a very good chance you'll need at least three people to complete the Library Survival missions, so maybe leave those for last, and then head to the boosting thread for help.
Overachiever Bronze Trophy Get over $2,500,000 in multiplayer, over 30 Post-Job Awards, 50 Jobs completed.
This trophy will either be a piece of cake or an absolute nightmare for you. For me, it was the latter. By the time you have completed Gozer's Most Wanted and the other online trophies, you should have the 50 jobs and cash requirements more than taken care of. The Post-Job Awards, however, will likely require some more time. There are several problems associated with the awards: firstly, it's unclear as to what, exactly, you need for this. Since it stands to reason that by the time you complete 50 jobs you will have 30 awards, you'd assume that you need 30 different awards. Here lies the second problem; there is no way to keep track of how many awards you have, aside from a pen and paper, and secondly, the trophy will more likely than not unlock for you after getting an award you already have. What you need to remember is that as long as you didn't complete the requirements for this before the patch came out, this trophy will unlock. It isn't unattainable, despite the fact that it may seem that way when you're grinding multiplayer games. Just keep playing, and try different things to get different awards.
Finally, a trophy guide!!
I hope you put more information on the online trophies, such as. The trophy "Payday!". A lot for people don't know how to get this, including me.
Looking forward to the guide. I'm on the 4th level with the hardest difficulty. My only concerns are the multi trophies and "Nice Shootin', Tex!".
For "Nice Shootin' Tex!" I suggest you play on casual difficulty, and just let the other ghostbusters take out most of the ghosts, while you just work on looking for artifacts and getting PKE scans. If you really want to capure a ghost though, wait until you unlock the slime tether, then you can use it to "dunk" ghosts into traps without causing a lot of damage. You can also get the "Slime Dunk!" and "It's Slime Time" trophies this way.
