Introduction:

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is a downloadable PSN title representing Wanako Games continuation of the adventures of “The Rookie”, a character you may recognize from the last PS3 disc-based Ghostbusters title. This top down shooter (from publisher Atari) always has you teamed with three other Ghostbusters in either local multiplayer or online multiplayer. Player slots not filled by humans are filled with AI players. You’ll be using your trusty tools again, such as the Proton Pack, Plasma Inductors, and even the Ecto-3, to fight through a variety of apparitions and bosses across 12 levels.

Roadmap:

Roadmap Overview:

This will be your only playthrough to achieve all the trophies except for some quick clean up trophies. A majority of what is needed will be derived from online multiplayer and you must be certain to start the game from Training Day. Joining a game in progress can cause you to jump ahead in the storyline. If you lose connection or need to regroup with friends, simply “Create” a game with the level at which you need to start at again. All but Full House can be obtained offline but the trophies are easiest when playing co-op locally or online. The Boosting Thread is a good place to find partners for the Ecto-3 chase sequence trophy, Don’t Touch the Car, and collectible hunters for Nice Thinking, Ray. Note: All collectibles obtained in multiplayer are also credited to everyone in the party.

The other trophies you will earn in your initial multiplayer playthrough include: Rookies, Hero, Rockstar, Rush Hour Revenge, Bustin’ Makes Me Feel Good, Speed Demon, and Colorblind. The remaining trophies, if not earned on this initial playthrough, Story Teller and Team of Four, will later be cleaned up with Level Select.

This roadmap takes you through everything needed, in order, to earn all trophies in the easiest and quickest manner. A collectible guide is attached.

Earnable Throughout the Game:

There are a couple of trophies that will be earned over time and you should be looking for opportunities to complete them during your only required playthrough of the game:

'Hero' Trophy:
This trophy is earned by reviving team members a total of 20 times. Team members will fall to the ground (and a medic symbol will appear) indicating they need revived. Revives require the repeated tapping of the button while standing near the downed teammate.

'Speed Demon' Trophy:
At the end of each boss fight you will have the opportunity to throw down a trap with the button. After the trap is thrown under the ghost, a window will cycle along a random series of buttons: , , , and . Using the trap, you'll need to score a perfect 10,000 points by hitting 11 button sequences correctly in the time allotted. The buttons hit must correspond exactly to those shown in the window. Only the first of the four players to place the trap down gets the chance at this mini-game, and AI players never throw down traps. If you are not in the mini-game, continue to shoot the ghost, as ghosts not fired at can escape the trap. - Thanks to Suiseiseki for his tips. Level 11 contains multiple opportunities to trap ghosts.

'Nice Thinking, Ray' Trophy:
There are 30 collectibles (Stay-Puft Icons) in the game, across 12 levels, found by destroying items with your weapons. This is a missable trophy and you should see the collectibles section for a list of all locations by level.

Start Playthrough at Multiplayer > Online > Create > Level 1: Training Day:

Level 1: takes place in the Sedgewick Hotel and you will earn Rookies for beating this first level. Also earned is Full House, for finishing an online level with the help of 3 others. This second one is the only mandatory online trophy. Three human players must remain in the game throughout the entire level and both trophies should unlock after winning the boss battle against “Master Chef LeBlog”.

Level 1 also contains a single level collectible missable trophy challenge that earns Rockstar. To earn this trophy, destroy all 8 of the black LCD TVs in the Sedgewick. The TVs have static on the screen and after broken, a pile of black glass will drop to the floor underneath. See the collectibles section for TV locations.

Continue playing through the levels in order earning story related trophies as you advance. Watch for collectible locations using the collectible guide.

On Level 3: River of Ooze is the best level to earn the Colorblind trophy. The second room and the few rooms after it represent the multiple opportunities to complete this.

Level 4: NYC Mayhem is the first Ecto=3 chase level and the first opportunity to earn the Don’t Touch the Car trophy, by protecting the Ecto-3 from damage. If you miss protecting Ecto-3, exit and restart. If in Local Co-op, restarting the level at anytime doesn't require re-entry.

At Level 5: Subway Smasher, you'll earn the story related trophy, Rush Hour Revenge. Beat Subway Smasher, the snake subway car on level 5.

On Level 8: Mean Streets (Ecto-3 Chase) you can try again for the Don’t Touch the Car trophy. Level select can also be used to try again at a later time. Level 4, however, is the easiest of the two chase levels.

Once upon Level 12: Temple of the Destroyer, you should exit multiplayer and beat level 12 in a LOCAL mode (single player or local co-op). This is the only way to earn the final comic sequence.

'Bustin’ Makes Me Feel Good' Trophy:
Once you've finished all 12 levels (single player or multiplayer), and beat final boss, Dumazu the Destroyer, you'll be awarded this. DO NOT FORGET to watch the final comic after winning a LOCAL game. If you skip through, you’ll be required to play the final level again.

Trophy Clean-up:

'Team of Four' Trophy:
Now that the game has been beaten, go to the main character select menu and play with each of the four different characters: Alan, Bridget, Gabriel, and Samuel. This does not require a level play through for each characters so, simply enter a game level, and then immediately back out. Restart and choose another character that you have yet chosen. Once you have played with all four, the trophy will unlock, unless you've picked it up along the way.

'Story Teller' Trophy:
During the single player campaign or local co-op (but not online multiplayer), there are comic book sequences between levels. The trophy requires watching these sequences without skipping past them (including the final one after beating the game). Use the level select (once unlocked through multiplayer), to watch these sequences. You can fast forward each sequence using the button ONLY but DO NOT SKIP using the button! Once the actual level starts, exit and then play the next comic sequence. The last sequence, after killing the final boss, can’t be watched directly from level select and may require replay of this last level in single player or local co-op. - Thanks again to Suiseiseki for pointing out the fast forward option.

Power-ups Information:
  • Damage Multipliers: These are the icons of two golden guns crossed and floating in the air. This increases your damage to enemies and lasts approximately 30 seconds while it creates gold sparks around you.
  • Invincibility Shields: These are hovering blue shields that, when obtained, create a foggy blue cylinder of invincibility around you. This lasts approximately 30 seconds.
  • Caduceus Emblems: These are the medical logos (floating in the air) which completely restore your health to full, when acquired.
  • Bonus Cash Dollar Signs (Gold) & Money Multiplier Dollar Signs (Blue): These provide extra money advantages and provide no other advantage other than to score.
Strategy:
  • The circle below your player is a Health Circle. It will begin to flash faster and faster to indicate that a player is badly hurt. This minimizes the need to look to your health bar
  • Movement is increased when you are not shooting weapons.
  • Experiment with varied movement patterns/locations against ghosts and in boss battles. Some enemies are best defeated by circling while others from picking strategic locations to stand. The subway train monster, for example, requires hugging the outside of the platform to avoid being hit. The final boss can best be attacked by aiming Fermion Shock (yellow) at the yellow area of his left wrist, while standing in the upper rightmost portion of the cliff. Experiment with movement patterns and locations to find the best ones.
  • Damage to bosses can be significantly increased by finding the right weapon or combinations of weapons, as some are best damaged with certain combinations instead of just using one type. Coordinate weapon choices, with others, to find the best damage rate.
  • Battles involving flying creatures and those that shoot/throw should be approached by taking out these more deadly creatures first. The slow moving ground creatures should just be avoided while you concentrate on these flying or firing ones first. Splitting of the weapon choices (colors) between team members also helps take on multiple creature types at once.

Trophies:

Hero
Revive any teammate 20 times
This trophy is earned by reviving teammates 20 times by repeatedly tapping the button while standing near them. They will fall to the ground and a medic symbol will be displayed indicating they need revived.

Speed Demon
Get 100% score with the trap
At the end of each boss fight you will have the opportunity to throw down a trap with the button. After the trap is thrown under the ghost, a window will cycle through a random series of buttons created from , , , and . While using the trap, get a perfect application of it for 10,000 points (100%). This is timed and you must hit the first 11 button sequences correctly. The buttons hit must correspond exactly to those shown in the window and only the first of the four players to place the trap gets a chance at this button pressing mini-game. Other players should shoot the monster to increase chances of success. Failure of your team to fire at the ghost could have the ghost escape requiring another mini-game sequence. Level 11 has multiple opportunities to trap.

Story Teller
Watch each comic without skipping
During the single player campaign or local co-op there are comic book sequences between levels and you must watch each sequence (including the final one after beating the game) WITHOUT skipping - DON'T USE button. Use the level select (once unlocked) to watch all sequences without interruption.

Rookies
Finish the first level
This is earned after finishing the first level and beating the “Master Chef LeBlog” ghost.

Bustin’ Makes Me Feel Good
Unlock every level and defeat the final boss
You must open every level of the game (12 levels) by advancing there in single player or multiplayer and then fight and defeat the final boss, Dumazu the Destroyer.

Nice Thinking, Ray
Find all the hidden collectibles
Find all 30 collectibles (Stay-Puft Icons) in the game, across the 12 levels, by destroying items with your weapons. This is a missable trophy. See the following link for collectible locations: Collectible Locations

Full House
Finish an online level with the help of 3 other players
This is the only mandatory online trophy. Complete any online level with at least 3 human players staying with you throughout the level. If a player leaves they will be replaced by an AI player and the trophy will not be unlocked.

Rush Hours Revenge
Defeat the Subway Smasher
This trophy is obtained by beating, Subway Smasher, the snake like subway car monster on level 5. Avoid the middle of the platform by keeping to the outside edges (you can't fall off). Aim the red beams directly into the monster’s eyes.

Don’t Touch the Car
Finish a chase level with at least 75% of the Ecto-shield up
During an Ecto-3 chase level, levels 4 and 8, protect the Ecto-3 from taking more than 25% damage by attacking ghosts. A meter will indicate the approximate health of the Ecto-3 while you are onboard. Online multiplayer with 3 other skilled players makes this trophy much easier to obtain. Note: If the vehicle is destroyed, and re-spawns with full health, this trophy will NOT unlock. The vehicle must have at least 75% health, WITHOUT a re-spawn, upon reaching the levels end. See the established Boosting Thread to find players for boosting. A full multiplayer team can easily get this by anticipating where the ghosts show as patterns are the same every time.

Team of Four
Play with each character
While selecting characters to play make certain you at least start a level with each of the 4 different characters: Alan, Bridget, Gabriel, and Samuel.

Rockstar
Destroy all the expensive LCD televisions in the hotel
There are LCD televisions (black) easily spotted throughout the Sedgewick hotel on level 1. While completing the level, that occurs there, be certain to use your weapons to destroy all of them. This is a missable trophy.

Colorblind
Kill a Slime Abomination with the wrong weapon
The ghosts in the game (except bosses) will be of 3 different colors (red, yellow, or blue) and are best killed with the weapon that shoots the same corresponding color. To earn the trophy, kill any Slime Abomination (large torsos/small legs) by using a weapon of the incorrect color from the color of the Slime Abomination you're fighting. Most of the monsters health must be depleted by your off-colored weapon so make certain others are not firing the proper one.

Collectibles:
  • Level 01 has 4 collectibles (+ 8 LCD TV collectibles)
  • Level 02 has 4 collectibles
  • Level 03 has 4 collectibles
  • Level 06 has 4 collectibles
  • Level 07 has 5 collectibles
  • Level 09 has 5 collectibles
  • Level 10 has 4 collectibles
  • Levels 4, 5, 8, 11, and 12 have NO collectibles
Level 1: Training Day (Collectibles = 12)

Sedgewick LCD TVs = 8)
  • The first room contains two TVs in the upper left (#1) and upper right corners (#2) of the room.
  • The second room has a TV resting on the table along the left wall (#3).
  • The third room has a television hanging on the rightmost wall (#4) and another located behind the bar (#5).
  • The fourth room (the same room as a red patterned chair) has another TV on the leftmost wall of this small room (#6).
  • The fifth and final room (that overlooks another room below), has a TV on the left wall over the balcony (#7), and another on the wall in the lower right corner of this room (#8). The trophy will unlock upon destroying the last TV.
Stay-Puft Icons = 4)
  • Immediately to the left of where you start, in the first room, is Collectible #1. Destroy the area with the yellow furniture and you will notice the first Stay-Puft Icon.
  • The third room, near the bar (right before the first elevator), has Collectible #2. Shoot in the L-shaped area created by the front of the bar.
  • Collectible #3 is in the fourth room, the first room you come to after exiting the elevator. Destroy the red patterned chair near the door inside this small hotel room.
  • The fifth room, that overlooks a lower floor (before entering a white and grey tile room), is where collectible #4 is located. It is at the top of the screen and obtained by destroying a grey planter in the upper right near the windows.

Level 2: Asylum Brawl (Collectibles = 4)
  • The first room contains collectible #1, found by shooting the grey planter immediately at the left when you start level.
  • When you enter the third room with all the patients standing around the outer edges of the room, shoot the electronic equipment on the table on the left side to make Collectible #2 float forward from the wall.
  • In the seventh room, the Library (multiple bookshelves), is Collectible #3. Destroy the planter on the bottom right.
  • The very next room (the eighth room) has multiple patients standing in a small circle. Destroy the furniture in the bottom right for Collectible #4.

Level 3: River of Ooze (Collectibles = 4)
  • The first room you come to that has a furnace in the middle, the third room, has Collectible#1 . It's located by shooting the furnace at the upper right corner.
  • Collectible#2 is in the fifth room, a room containing multiple wooden crates. Shoot the electrical panel in the upper right corner of the room.
  • The sixth room has Collectible #3; destroy the electrical console in the upper left corner.
  • Advance to the eighth room (circular room) to locate Collectible #4 in the upper left corner.

Level 6: Graveyard Plot (Collectibles = 4)
  • Collectible #1 is found in the second cemetery space, near the bottom right, by shooting a grave headstone. This will be next to a building's left side.
  • Collectible #2 is in the fourth cemetery space, in the upper left corner before entering the gate. Shoot headstones located there.
  • Collectible #3 is the seventh area, in the bottom right section, on the outside of the arched low wall. Shoot the light pole located here.
  • Collectible #4 is in the eighth area, in the upper right corner. It is revealed by shooting another gravestone.

Level 7: Back to the Sedgewick (Collectibles = 5)
  • Collectible #1 is found in the third room (second room after exiting the first elevator). The collectible is along the rightmost wall and is obtained by shooting the ladder there.
  • After third room, but a couple rooms before the second elevator, is Collectible #2 in the large open area. This area overlooks another floor. Shoot the light fixture in the upper left corner.
  • One room after the second elevator, is Collectible #3. Collectible is above the exit on the right wall, found by shooting the scaffolding.
  • The very next room has Collectible# 4, found in the lower right corner by shooting the couch there.
  • Again, the next room contains a collectible. Collectible#5 is at the top of this room by the windows. Shoot the covered furniture in front of the ladder.

Level 9: Lair of the Huge Spider(Collectibles = 5)
  • Collectible#1 is in the upper left (after view rotates) of the first room located by shooting the furnace located there.
  • The fourth room will contain Collectible#2, in the upper left corner. Shoot all crates located by the ladder in that area.
  • Immediately after the eighth room will be a hallway with two crates at the end. Shoot the left crate for Collectible#3.
  • When you enter the tenth room, you'll notice two furnaces in the lower left and right corners as well as a T-shaped pipe in the upper top right corner. Collectible#4 is found by shooting the furnace in the lower right.
  • In the boss battle room, is Collectible#5; shoot near the furnace in the lower left corner of the room (after the view shifts for the room).

Level 10: Gates of the Dead (Collectibles = 4)
  • Collectible#1 is found in the second area by shooting the lamp post in the bottom right section of the cemetery.
  • The fifth area contains Collectible#2, and it can be uncovered by shooting the cemetery stones in the upper left corner.
  • The very next area, area six, contains Collectible#3. It is located along the left wall between the first two above ground stone caskets.
  • Collectible#4, is in area seven, and can be found by shooting the gravestones along the bottom left of the area.
You should now have all the hidden collectibles and the trophy will unlock.

For the Story Teller trophy, you can still fast forward through the comics with X and get the trophy. It worked for me. Just don't press O to skip the entire thing.

Why you listed two trophies as missables when there's a Level Selection Mode in the game? Anything can be gone back for. What were they any way?
