I just did some testing of my own on level 11 since it already starts with a boss fight. On 4 player local multiplayer with all three teammates dead, I threw a trap and with 11 button presses I got 10,000 points. On 4 player local multiplayer with all three teammates alive and shooting... trap with 11 button presses = 10,000 points. When you throw your trap your score already starts at 10,000 points. You can see the current score in the middle of the screen the moment you start trapping. You have a set amount time to press the next button before the points start decreasing to 9900, 9800, 9700, etc. Your partners shooting just increases the amount of time you can press a button before the score starts dropping.
